Hybrid course will combine components
of on-campus in-class instructions and
online learning technology; this
combination will result in students and
educators spending the same amount of
time together that they do on campus
but from an alternative location.
The foundation subjects or the themes will be taught first, using online classroom and
the themes which are more hands-on, that is the Quality Improvement Program (QIP)
for Mains which includes extensive answer writing will be delivered after, on-campus in
the traditional classroom setting.
Hybrid courses will be delivered via Rau’s IAS Online Learning Management
System (LMS)

HOW WILL THE GSI-HYBRID COURSE WORK?
This plan illustrates our pedagogy, format
of classes and related coursework which
will be delivered to all students across the
two levels of our GSI-Hybrid course.
Schedule of Live classes will be available on
the commencement date after the
orientation class.
+ FOUNDATION & CURRENT AFFAIRS CLASSES (~ 700 HRS)
LIVE ONLINE CLASSES
Between one and two live
classes daily according to a
monthly schedule.
Each class will be of 2 hours’
duration, divided between 100
minutes of lecture &
assignment and 20 minutes for
doubts and discussion.
5 days a week - Mon to Friday
SELF PACED LEARNING
VIDEOS
All live classes will also be
available as recorded videos
in the LMS for up till 7 days
after the Live Class. So, if you
miss a live class or just want to
learn through videos, you can
do that.
Daily DNS videos: The Hindu
Newspaper Analysis.
Occasional Focus Videos:
Holistic coverage of current
affairs from all sources like PIB,
other newspapers and
magazines, etc.
STUDY MATERIAL
Printed Blue Workbooks, primary study material for
syllabus of UPSC Prelims and Mains, will be dispatched by
courier within a week of enrolment (subject to lockdown
restrictions). Blue Workbooks will also be available in
PDF format on LMS.
Additional Class notes, whenever required, will be
provided as PDF documents on the LMS.
Focus magazine, monthly Current Affairs Analysis
notes will be available in PDF format on LMS.
TESTS
Foundation Tests for Prelims and Mains will be
released every Saturday after the completion of first
theme.
Prelims & Mains Test Series (Thematic Tests) will be
released in the second half of Level 1 after completion of
major themes.
On Campus Exam Room - All tests can be given
online at any time as well as offline in pen and paper
format from any of the Rau’s IAS campuses on any day in
the week between 10 am and 6 pm. Just walk-in.
DOUBTS SOLVING
Doubs can be asked within the live session or even
afterwards using the class discussion forum

+ QIP CLASSES/VIDEOS FOR PRELIMS REVISION (~ 60 HRS)
CLASSES/VIDEOS
Quality Improvement Program
(QIP) classes will be conducted
after completing all foundation
classes - between one and two
months before Prelims.
They will cover all themes
important for Prelims; will be
prepared using Rau’s C3
approach (core-current-related
concepts) and include practice
MCQs after every theme.
QIP classes will also be available as videos for students
to be able to revise from them any number of times.
TESTS
Prelims Test Series (Full-Length Tests) will be
conducted.
STUDY MATERIAL & DOUBT SOLVING
Printed Prelims Compass books (study material of
QIP classes) for focused revision.
All books in PDF format will be available as soon as
they are released, on elearn.rauias.com.
Doubts can be asked in classes or later using the
discussion forum made specifically for QIP Prelims.
* Level 2 basically starts after Prelims exam. At the time of enrolment, students will have to pick
one of the 3 campus locations (Delhi/Bengaluru/Jaipur) for taking on-campus classes. The campus
location selected can be changed later on prior to attending classes in L2.
+ QIP CLASSES (~100 HOURS) FOR MAINS REVISION
ON CAMPUS CLASSES
QIP Mains classes will be conducted within 3 months
between Prelims and Mains.
Focus of the classes will be Answer Writing &
Question Discussion
Actual class recording (videos) will be made
available for students who wish to self-study
from home. Validity till Mains.

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
Akin to guidelines given to all students in the traditional classroom format, students in hybrid
format also need to take ownership over their own learning.
Discipline and time management is a necessary quality to achieve academic success.
Students must watch all live classes or alternatively recorded classes regularly and complete all
assignments and tests in a timely manner; analyse their performance through the feedback
provided and proactively seek solutions to their doubts from the instructors.
Like we tell all our students, “Do not procrastinate”.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
SUPPORT WITH ELEARN.RAUIAS.COM (LMS) AND LIVE CLASSES
Live Classes will require Internet bandwidth of 5 MBPS. Do not use Cell phone data hotspot for
connecting your laptop. Any incoming call on cell phone will disrupt your connectivity with your elearn
portal.
Use PC/Laptop (not a smart phone) to attend LIVE Classes.
Use Google Chrome browser.

While navigating around our LMS is very simple, short tutorial videos will be available in your account
to explain you its various features.
You will have access to course content till Mains. Even after Mains, you will have access to all free
resources on our LMS forever.
What to do till classes commence? Start reading The Hindu newspaper. Also, if you do not have your
free student account on elearn.rauias.com, create one and start watching DNS videos.
