Strauzie overview 2 min7College Access TimeCAT stands for College Access Time, which is another name for advisory. CAT may go by different names in different schools (e.g., MAP or Advisory), but it is a common element of JCPS efforts to improve high schools. Increased College Access: Small group meetings (CAT) that support strong relationships with an adult who is on my case and on my side; positive peer relationships around common career interests; and college readiness.

Strauzie: 2minReview job description and roles CARTS play as connector with community.9Mingle, Mingle Huddle, HuddlePurpose: This activity is to spark conversations between colleagues about any subject the facilitator chooses. It could be used for a controversial subject or a new initiative, this works for just about anything. It is particularly helpful in large groups of people who do not know each other.
Process:Have the group stand up and mingle: greeting each other with names and roles much like at a party. The facilitator then calls out to huddle and a number representing group size. For example, Huddle, 4. Pose a question or a statement to the group. Displaying on a power point slide may help in larger group. Give them a certain time period to discuss their answers (be sure to include enough time for all group members to participate)Have groups report something from their discussion
