DENIm IS pRImARY!

A pair of jeans is more than

a simple garment. It’s a second

skin and a garment that we

will always have in our ward-

robe, which will become all

the more beautiful the more it

is worn as it models itself on

our personality.

We make jeans, and make

them with the latest trends

for contemporary consumers

in mind, without ever losing

sight of our roots, e.g. excep-

tional materials, impeccable

construction and advanced

treatments.

We interpret the present and

look to the future, with only

one fi xed point, which is part

of our DNA and the heritage

of the brand: the DENIM.

For the Autumn/Winter 2013

collection, we wanted to lend

more strength and importance

to the identity of our jeans

in order to boost product

recognition and personality

through a product redesigning

exercise. Particular attention

was thus paid to the details,

with the aim of focusing on the

signature hallmarks that defi ne

the soul of the brand.

That goes from yellow –

our corporate colour – to

the iconic triangle: signature

hallmarks of the brand from

the very beginning, all of

which we have highlighted

on every piece, from the

stitching on the interior

of the jeans to the new

galvanized gold buttons.

Add to these new and

precious elements and the

denim’s indigo weave a new

leather back pocket label,

inner chambray pockets and

numerous fi ne construction

design details.

Our goal is to interpret and

convey a real contemporary

lifestyle that breaks the clas-

sical casual mould to propose

a total look that is new and

modern, full of details, colours,

juxtapositions and images

that are in harmony with

the concept of denim and

its history in preparation for

the future.

Un paio di jeans è più di un

semplice indumento. E’ una

seconda pelle, un indumento

che avremo sempre nel nostro

guardaroba, che diventerà

tanto più bello quanto più

verrà indossato, modellandosi

sulla nostra personalità.

Noi facciamo jeans, e li fac-

ciamo seguendo i trend più

attuali, per un consumatore

contemporaneo, senza mai

però perdere di vista le nostre

radici, vale a dire materiali ec-

cezionali, costruzione impec-

cabile e trattamenti avanzati.

Interpretiamo il presente,

guardiamo al futuro, con un

solo punto fi sso, parte inte-

grante del DNA e dell’heritage

del Brand: il DENIM.

Con la collezione Autunno

Inverno 2013 abbiamo voluto

dare più forza ed importanza

all’ identità del nostro jeans,

in modo da aumentarne la

riconoscibilità e la persona-

lità, attraverso un esercizio

di restyling del prodotto,

soprattutto nei dettagli, teso a

recuperare i codici che fanno

parte dell’anima del Marchio.

A partire dal nostro giallo, il

nostro “colore sociale”, sino

all’iconico triangolo, signature

del Brand sin dagli esordi, che

abbiamo evidenziato su tutti i

capi, sia come impuntura che

come segno all’interno del nuo-

vo bottone galvanizzato oro.

A questo si accompagnano

nuovi, preziosi elementi, dalle

trame e indaco dei denims,

fi no alle nuove salpe logo

in pelle, lo chambray delle

tasche e gli innumerevoli

dettagli di costruzione.

Il nostro obiettivo è interpre-

tare e trasmettere un vero e

proprio life style contempo-

raneo, che rompa un po’ gli

schemi classici del casual per

proporre un total look nuovo e

moderno, fatto di dettagli, co-

lori, accostamenti ed immagini

in sintonia con una concezio-

ne del denim che usa la sua

storia per prepararsi al futuro.

FAbRICS

The fabrics themselves

become identifying codes.

The denim is ring ring but

always made of threads that are

wound at a very high density

and high quality, thus giving our

denim a great personality and

making it clearly identifi able.

The range of denim is as

usual very wide, from a non-

stretch 100% cotton to comfort

fi ts and power stretches, which

for the fi rst time provide an aut-

hentic and natural worn-in look.

We like to explore and

select the best: the heavier

13 oz ¼ and the lighter weight

9 oz. ¾, and various shades

of indigo from the traditional

green casts and red cast to

the new sulphur cast with

shades ranging from idrone

blue to black, black denim.

WASHES

The treatment of our denim

has always provided great

added value to our collections.

It is in this stage of the pro-

cess that we highlight Italian

taste and our understanding

of denim. Our washes are the

result of extensive research

both on the road and within

the laboratories, in collabora-

tion with the biggest Italian

washing houses.

This know-how is evident

in our products, not only

throughout the authentic vin-

tage versions (which always

feature in our collections), but

also in minor washed and dry

looks, which allow the pieces

to become more beautiful and

interesting as they are worn in.

Not only are the treatments

applied to denim, but scratch-

ing, resin-fi nishing and over-

dyeing are also used on other

fabrics such as velvet, bull

and wool to give them more

character.

All these aspects are cre-

ated with the utmost respect

for the environment in which

we live, which is something

that is particularly dear to my

heart. The idea has always

been to avoid pollutants and

recycling washing water.

But this season we have gone

even further by using a water-

less treatment process where

a garment can be produced

without any chemical agents.

Yes to agents of organic

origin, no to minerals.

CoLoURS

Colour also adds to overall

product recognition. And this

season, a common thread

runs through the collection:

the denim features idrone

tones, which add a touch of

light to all our indigos and cre-

ate a strong overall Meltin’Pot

allure. On the other hand, co-

coa black is prevalent through

our range of tops, which

are subtly marred by dirty

brown, and across the general

colour palette, thus giving our

products distinct personality.

And last but not least is our

Meltin’Pot yellow, of course.

GRApHIC INSpIRAtIoN

Anche il tessuto diventa un

codice di riconoscibilità. I de-

nim sono ring ring ma sempre

realizzati con fi lati molto battuti

ad alta densità e pregiati, che

danno ai nostri prodotti un’im-

magine decisa, non anonima e

di grande personalità.

La gamma dei tessuti

denim è come di consueto

molto ampia, da quello fermo

100% cotone a quello comfort

e power stretch, che per la

prima volta si presta ad assu-

mere un originale estetica di

capo vissuto.

Ci piace esplorare, e ci

piace scegliere il meglio,dai

più pesanti di 13 oz ¼ a qell

più leggeri di 9 oz. ¾, e nei

vari toni dell’indaco dai tradi-

zionali green cast e redcast,

al nuvo sulfur cast con tonalità

blue idrone, fi no al black

black denim.

WASHES

Il trattamento dei nostri

denim è da sempre un valore

aggiunto importante delle

nostre collezioni.

E’ proprio in questa

fase della lavorazione che si

evidenziano il gusto italiano e

il saper fare il denim. I nostri

lavaggi sono frutto di grande

ricerca sia “on the road” che

in laboratorio, grazie alla col-

laborazione con le più grandi

lavanderie italiane.

Questo saper fare e’

evidente nel prodotto, non

solo nelle versioni authentic

vintage, sempre presenti nelle

nostre collezioni, ma anche

negli aspetti poco lavati o dry,

capaci di divenire sempre più

belli e interessanti man mano

che verranno indossati.

I trattamenti non riguarda-

no solo i denim, ma gli inter-

venti di graffi atura, resinature

a sovra tintura, hanno dato

maggiore carattere ad altre

tipologie di tessuti come i

velluti, i bull, le lane.

Tutto questo, come

sempre, nel massimo rispetto

dell’ambiente in cui viviamo,

che è una cosa che ci sta par-

ticolarmente a cuore. Da sem-

pre evitiamo con attenzione

qualsiasi agente inquinante e

ricicliamo l’acqua di lavaggio,

ma da questa stagione ci sia-

mo spinti oltre, con trattamenti

waterless che non prevedono

l’utilizzo di agenti aggressivi

nella realizzazione del capo,

ma solo prodotti di origine

organica e non minerale.

CoLoURS

Ad aumentare la riconosci-

bilità contribuiscono anche

i colori, che questa stagio-

ne hanno un fi l rouge che

attraversa la collezione: nei

denims è la tonalità idrone,

che aggiunge un tocco di

luce a tutti inostri indaco e

conferisce una spiccata allure

Meltin’Pot. Nei tops invece è il

cocoa black, un nero contami-

nato dal marrone che sporca

in maniera impercettibile tutte

le sfumature della palette

colori, anche qui conferendo

un’anima personale e distintiva

al prodotto.

Non poteva mancare, ovvia-

mente, il giallo Meltin’Pot.

GRApHIC INSpIRAtIoN

Il link tra passato e futuro,

è alla base della scelta del

fi lone grafi co della stagione:

lo steampunk. “come sarebbe

stato il passato se il futuro

fosse accaduto prima”, mante-

nendo comunque una linea di

massima pulizia nei trattamenti

grafi ci, limitandoli all’uso dei

codici come il triangolo stam-

pato o applicato nella versione

placchetta.

Soprattutto nella donna, la

grafi ca non viene realizzata nel

senso classico del termine,

ma l’immagine si visualizza at-

traverso i dettagli di costruzio-

ne dei capi. Tagli, impunture e

ricami diventano giochi grafi ci

che ripropongono il codice del

triangolo, che diventa parte in-

tegrante della forma del capo.

The focus of this collection

for FW 2013 is B-Side,

an authentic product from

Meltin’Pot and a fi ne example

of Romano SpA’s know-how

and production capability.

At a time when the market

needs experience, credibility

and new followings, B-Side

is a real back-to-the-future

product that recounts a strong

and historical story of who

we are coupled with modern

innovation.

We have reinvented this

style – thanks to meticulous

research into fi ts – through

attentive studies in garment

construction and obses-

sive attention to detail, thus

creating harmony between

both sides of the trousers,

which effectively become two

distinctive jeans with different

uses. We have developed this

idea and rolled it out in the

collection’s product offering.

So there are jeans but also

chinos, sweaters and shirts.

Research, innovation and

creativity are the keywords of

KLSH, which in addition to

B-Side, perfectly represent

the brand, complete with a

very avant-garde look made up

of authentic vintage jeans and

chic and clean line tops.

Open-hand 14 oz denim

jeans – very 1980s – are

teamed with T-shirts in pima

cotton and cupro as well as

soft lambswool sweaters to

create an interesting contrast

between rough and clean, all

of which is drawn together by

volume fi ts that are modern

and innovative.

In un momento in cui il

mercato ha bisogno di espe-

rienza, credibilità e nuove ap-

partenenze, il B-Side rappre-

senta un vero e proprio ritorno

al futuro, racconta chi siamo

con la forza della storia e la

modernità dell’innovazione.

Lo abbiamo reinventato,

grazie a una meticolosa ricer-

ca sui fi t che, mediante attenti

studi sulla costruzione dei

capi ed una maniacale cura

dei dettagli, rende armoniosi

il side 1 e il side 2, che diven-

tano effettivamente due jeans

distinti con utilizzi differenti,

e lo abbiamo sviluppato,

attraverso l’ampliamento delle

merceologie in collezione, non

solo jeans ma anche chinos,

maglie e camicie.

Ricerca, innovazione e

creatività sono le keywords

di KLSH, che oltre al B-Side,

che ne è una perfetta rappre-

sentazione, si completa con

un look molto avanguardista,

fatto di jeans authentic vintage

e tops chic e puliti.

Ai jeans 14 oz, open hand,

molto anni ’80, si affi ancano

t-shirt in pima cotton e cupro,

maglie in morbido lambswool,

che creano un interessante

contrasto tra rough e clean,

il tutto amalgamato da fi ts e

volumi assolutamente moderni

ed innovativi.
