• Na mobilisatie van een gewricht wordt de taperichting bepaald door de richting van de manuele mobilisatie die succesvol was • Spieren/fascia worden in een richting gecorrigeerd waarbij spiercontractie verbetert , aanspanningspijn afneemt of in z’n geheel verdwijnt en bewegingsuitslag toeneemt. • Het proces van “Clinical reasoning” is leidend, en bepaald of de tape goed is aangelegd, ofwel PILL regel


Asymmetrie / LR verschillen in alle weefsels Richting van mobilisatie van gewrichten of weke delen hangt o.a. samen met de

bouwstructuur van het weefsel en de richting waarin het trauma plaatsvond

Bij onderzoek in de eerste lijn (n=467) d.m.v. een vragenlijst werd gevraagd naar pijn, zwelling, instabiliteit en zwakte, 6 tot 18 maanden na bezoek aan

huisarts of SEH voor een enkelbandletsel. Bijna driekwart meldde nog restverschijnselen na 6 tot 18 maanden, van wie ruim 40% matig tot ernstige

Mulligan Tape Technieken zijn gericht op functieherstel van gewrichten en weke delen

1. Bij acute fase: RICE en taping moet leiden tot grotere pijnvrije bewegingsuitslag 2. Bij subacute fase: tape technieken +MWM moeten leiden tot grotere pijnvrije

bewegingsuitslag 3. Bij langdurige (chronische) klachten: tape technieken + MWM moeten leiden tot een volledige

pijnvrije bewegingsuitslag 4. Indien 1, 2 of 3 niet van toepassing: tapen volgens Mulligan niet geïndiceerd


Hypothese Mulligan

Bij inversie trauma van de enkel ontstaat er volgens Mulligan bij velen een positiefout van de fibula t.o.v. de tibia naar anterior. Dit wordt door diverse onderzoekers bevestigd –Kavanagh 1999, Mavi 2002, Hubbard 2006 etc. geven aan dat tussen 35-55% een positiefout aanwezig is bij diverse onderzoeken.
