Greeting to you all in the name of Risen Christ.

I thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve Immanuel Mar Thoma Parish, which is well known for its missionary vision and outreach pro-grammes. I do appreciate the warmth and affection you all rendered

to me and my family throughout last year. I gratefully remember our former vicar Johnson T. Unnithan Achen’s service. Achen reached safely at Sirci on 26th April at 12.00 noon (IST). Let us continue to uphold Achen and family in our prayers. I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly welcome Rev Saji Albin Achen, Jeena Kochamma, Johan, Albin and Joel. Achen hails from Kuttichal, Tiruvanathapuram. Achen served as the missionary of Kokkathodu Mission centre, Vicar of Ranni Perunad MTC, Kappakad Jerusalem MTC, Jodhpur MTC, Bikaner MTC, Pali Congregation, Cuttack-Bhuvaneswar MTC. I wish and pray that Achen’s ministry in our parish may be a blessed one. Let us join our hands together for a contemporary and mean-ingful Christian experience and for the furtherance of the Kingdom.The Mar Thoma Church is lamenting on the sudden demise of our dear shepherd, Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius. Thirumeni was a voracious reader and an eloquent orator. His messages and life was prophetic. Thirumeni served faithfully and selflessly for the benefit of the Church and society at large. His dedicated and mature leadership will be missed. As Thirumeni completes His earthly sojourn, Church praises Her Lord for the outstanding life and witness of Thirumeni. We hope that the excellence of his work will continue to inspire coming generations of leaders to serve with undying passion and commit-ment.The Christian Churches celebrate ‘Ascension Day’, on the 40th day after resurrection. This year it falls on May 10. Though Ascension accounts are very few in the Bible (Mk.16:19-20, Acts. 1: 9 -11) it is central to our faith. It was the fulfillment of God’s salvific plan. We affirm his ascension and second coming through the Nicene Creed. If Advent was a journey to the limits of age, time and space, Ascension was a journey to beyond the limits of age, time and space. While He was in physical body, only a few could experience His presence. It was God’s plan that His presence should be experienced by everybody all over the world. Because God so loved the world (Jn.3:16). Hence Ascension was inevitable, so that everybody could experience His spiritual presence. Moreover, when He was in His physical body His place was ‘outside our body’ but now He could be ‘inside our body’ with His spiritual body. Thank God, today He lives in our hearts! Since He abides in us with His invisible body, now we experience the invisible strength that is stronger than the visible strength. Do we the experience this? If not let us invite Christ to dwell in our hearts permanently. He is there at the door (Rev.3:20). 10 days after ascension is the day of Pentecost. The Greek word means “fifty”. Pentacost day is fifty days after the resurrection. The biblical reference about Pentecost day is in Acts 2. This year the day of Pentecost falls on May 20th Sunday. The first week of May (May 06-May12) is Nurses week. Let us thankfully remember all the nurses who came to this land from God’s own country. Always remember, Nursing is not just a job but it is a vocation. May 13th is Mothers day. Someone once said about mothers, “God cannot be present everywhere so He created Mothers”. A big salute to all the mothers. This month Yuvajana Sakhyam is organizing a three day conference at Camp Allen. The theme for the conference is “United by God; Committed to serve.” I urge all the Yuvajana Sakhyam members to be part of the Conference. SWRAC is hosting the Diocesan Family Conference from July 5-8. Kindly uphold the Family Conference in your prayers.Thank you very much for your continued prayers, cooperation and support for our ministry here. May the Immanuel keep us all in His mighty wings.
