You can play with your child like a friend, advise like a father and
protect like a body guard. You mean a world to your child!
We hope you had a great time with your child at the Foam Party
with your kids.
“Hush a little baby, don‟t say a word,
Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird”.
Candy cane wishes, and sugar plump dreams
Children enjoyed a fun filled Pyjama Party.
Virtually every parent faces
the challenge, getting kids to
eat healthy food.
Keeping this in mind, our
playgroup parents did a
wonderful job of making
some yummy, scrumptious
salad for their little ones to
inculcate healthy eating
habits.
To enhance the theme of the month, our little ones dress up as
a fruit and vegetable and pretend to be like it. They enjoyed taking
part in pretence play activity.
Students of playgroup visited the garden and plant nursery at „The Club‟, had a great time
playing in the garden area and exploring nature.
Spring Buds International believes that every child is an artist.
Our little artists were all set to create and display their imagination.
Students of Jr. KG visited the garden and
plant nursery at „The Club‟, had a great
time playing in the garden area and
exploring nature.
As part of the concept, mothers were invited to school. Both mother and child were asked to dress
up and enact any one part of the tree. The event was marked with many other fun filled activities .
Good job done to make the event a success!
Spring Buds International believes that every child is an artist. Children were given an
opportunity to show case their talent through the medium of art. The theme of the competition
was My Favourite Festival.
Students of Sr. KG are
learning about the plant
world, so as an extension to
this, they visited a plant
nursery „Green Grovers‟ at
Bandra, where they saw and
learned about different
species of plants and their
specialty.
Children‟s day, also known as Bal Divas , was celebrated by Grade I on 11th November.
The students of grade 1 came dressed in casual clothes for the foam party - suds or bubbles were
dispensed from a foam machine. The children sang, played, danced and jumped in gusto.
Later, they were engaged in a few interesting games organized by their teachers and ate yummy
snacks provided by the school.
Children's Day was celebrated at C.P. Goenka International School Juhu on 15th November 2016
with a lot of enthusiasm.
Magic shows are a wonderful way of bringing blissful moments into the lives of children.
The show was organized by the PTA members. The 15 minute programme kept the children
engrossed and they were amazed by the magician‟s skill.
It was followed by a fun filled skit performance by teachers which was based on children‟s
behaviour and their daily routine with parents at home, friends in school and society. Primary
school teachers also organised an awesome dance performance for children which was then
followed by children joining in with the teachers to groove and shake a leg.
The icing on the cake was game stalls set up for children to have a gala time which was followed
by lip smacking, mouth watering eatables.
This event was a great success and the children went home, enthralled and excited.
Three cheers for C.P.Goenka !!!!!
Zoo Crew had a Zoo-Pendous Day
An area full of lush green trees with many species of birds and animals is the ideal place for the
children to be engaged in an interdisciplinary approach towards curriculum.
Students of Grade II, III and IV were taken to Jijamata Udyan Zoo as an extension of the Hindi,
Social science and Language curriculum. They saw a variety of birds and animals which
reinforced their understanding of land and water animals. They could connect this to the fact that
animals belong to a particular habitat and can only survive there.
We are sure we have future botanists and environmentalist amidst us !!!
Money makes the world go round!!!
Money is a complex concept for children to grasp, not only how to count it, but also its importance
and impact on life.
This can be taught through fun activities to support their learning. Students of Grade II learned the
actual value of money, handling real notes and coins of various denominations. They also did a fun
tracing activity of the metal coins to learn the various sizes, shapes and denominations.
The icing on the cake was the shopping spree where the children actually bought goods by paying
fake money.
Grade II students learnt the value of money through fun filled interesting activities, which is a skill
required to be a successful businessman or businesswoman .
Everything in the Earth's system can be placed into one of the four
major subsystems: land, water, living things or air. These four
subsystems are called "spheres." Specifically, they are the
"lithosphere" (land), "hydrosphere" (water), "biosphere" (living things), and "atmosphere" (air).
Students of Grade II performed an activity based on the spheres of the Earth. Balls of different
colours had labels of living things pasted on them. The balls had to be identified and put in the
respective boxes (spheres), to which they belonged. Example - Plants and human beings belong to
the biosphere.
Students enjoyed the activity and reinforced the understanding that each living organism has its
own natural environment.
I am replacing!!!
Don‟t make it boring by saying John ate an apple. John went to the garden. John was happy.
Can‟t we replace John with another word?
Grade III were engaged in an activity on pronouns
called the “Pronoun Patch”. They replaced the
nouns with a pronoun. A flower was drawn in
which the pronoun was written in the centre and
the nouns were written in the petals. It was
coloured very beautifully by the children and it
actually looked like a flower patch in the garden.
Digestion !!!
Every organ in the digestive system plays a vital role.
Students of Grade III were instructed to put pieces of a slice of
bread in a zip lock bag. The bread represented the food and the zip
lock bag initially represented the mouth. The children poured the
water which represented the saliva into the zip lock bag. The
bread became soft. Orange juice was poured to show the food
mixing with digestive juices. A zip lock bag now represented the
stomach. Finally, children made a hole in the bag from which
excess waste was removed. This represented excretion.
Wow !! The children actually experienced the entire process of
digestion!
“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the
urge to reach your full potential... these are
the keys that will unlock the door to personal
excellence” an inspiring quote which can help us
to tap our potential.
Keeping this in mind, a workshop on developing
our potential as a teacher, was conducted by
Ms. Madhavi and Ms. Surinder of the primary
section on the 19th of November, 2016.
The workshop started with an inspiring clip from
the movie „M.S. Dhoni‟, the untold story
followed by a ppt. presentation on potential
development. The workshop was a combination
of a vibrant and colorful ppt, role play and an
activity.
An interactive session was conducted with the
teachers to complete the activity. The objective
was, teachers could reflect their own potential
and also got an insight of their capabilities with an opinion from another teacher
Overall the workshop was interactive, fun filled and valuable for the teachers.
Technology in the classroom is the best learning
tool as students are engaged. It also helps in
improving collaboration and most importantly, it
makes learning fun!
On 19th November 2016, Ms Aarti (Primary ICT
teacher) conducted a workshop for all the teachers
of the primary section.
The topic covered during this workshop was " Use
of Technology in Classroom". The workshop
included videos, a ppt and a detailed explanation
of how each feature could be used in the
classroom. The smart board, projectors, document
cameras, video conferencing, virtual classroom,
podcast etc were some of the features discussed
and explained.
Overall this was a very encouraging workshop for
teachers as it helped them to know the usage of
technology and also make lessons very interesting
in the classroom.
Ad Mad an inter-house „Advertisement Making Competition‟ was organized on 22nd November
for Grades 5 to 10. The competition was aimed at helping the students to showcase their creativity by
sensitizing their fellow students about World Peace. The theme of the competition was „NO MORE
APOCALYPSE: PEACE WANTED ALIVE.‟ Students of Grades 5 to 7 participated in poster
making activity whereas pupils of Grades 8 to 10 made eclectic performances in the form of skit,
jingles, songs, etc.
Gaia House participants were the winners.
Three cheers for the winners!!!
CPGIS had a fun filled day replete with activities, on 15th
November to celebrate Children‟s Day. A gesture of love
towards our young kids was made by the teachers and parents
to make it an eventful day. We had our very proactive PTM
members ready with their Housie game that was thoroughly
enjoyed by the students of the secondary section. This was
followed by performances by our very talented teachers such
as Amaan Sir. Ms. Arti, Ms. Rachana, Ms. Deepavali, and
Ms.Renu. The students also had games and food stalls to
make it a more fun filled day. Three cheers to our performers
for a worthwhile event!
The kids had a blast and will hold on to this until next year.
The inter-school quiz competition was a really good learning experience for our students.
It enlightened and motivated our students to brainstorm for the competition. The topic of the quiz
mainly dealt with Rio Olympics,2016. Our kids were divided into five teams, and each team had
two participants. The contest had 2 rounds. The first round was a written preliminary round and the
top 6 schools were selected for the second round .The competition aimed at developing knowledge
and an excellent base among the students through a healthy and highly motivating
meet. Unfortunately our kids could not make it to the second round but they were happy to be
participants of the competition as they competed with many schools.
