A Message from Our President… What an extraordinary year! This month the Corvette Club of South Florida celebrates its 1st Anniversary of our first club meet- ing. When Howard, Tony, Joe and I made the decision in early 2011 to establish a new Corvette club in South Florida we had no idea it would become one of the most respected and outstanding clubs so quickly. Our initial goals were two-fold: to establish a club of Corvette enthusiasts for the total enjoyment of its mem- bers and their families. It was to be a fun club with no politics. Our second goal was to give back to the community in the way of supporting an outstanding and worthy organization. Our choice was the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation in Hollywood, FL. As we begin our 2nd year we strongly believe we have achieved both of these goals. Our membership in the first year is close to 40 members. We also have several junior members. The consensus from our members is we are truly an outstanding or- ganization. We have involved not only our members, but also their families. We could not be happier with our sponsor Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet. They have exceeded their support above and beyond and have become a really great organization to be associ- ated with. On March 3rd, 2012 our club presented its 1st Annual Car Show to help support the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. All our mem- bers performed exceedingly well, especially considering the major- ity of our members had never been involved in the preparation and presentation of a car show before. Our members with the leadership our four Founding Members put on, what we've been told, one of the finest car shows in South Florida. We have re- ceived such high praises from so many people and clubs who at- tended this great event. We are truly flattered! On April 5th we presented, in person, a check to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation in the amount of $3,500.00. Tony, Howard, Chip, Sally, Peggy and I visited the hospital and made the presentation to Jackie Johnstone & Kate Rodriguez, Directors at the hospital. Jackie & Kate gave us a tour of the new wing which was an extremely rewarding experience. The hospital staff was so delighted and appreciative of our contribution. In addition to our donation we have also purchased a "Home Run" brick personalized with our club name & year of establishment which will be inserted in the front walkway of the hospital. We'd also like to express our sincere thanks to the Renegade Corvette Club who donated $200.00 to the hospital fund and they will also have a brick insert- ed with their club name & year established. What an extraordinary year! This month the Corvette Club of

South Florida celebrates its 1st Anniversary of our first club meet-ing.
