Further to your official information request in respect of parking and traffic infringements, I am now able to provide a response.

You requested:

"1. How many parking tickets were issued in 2013/2014 and in 2014/15?"Parking infringement notices issued:

infringements under NZ legislation on behalf of the NZ Police. This applies only to vehicles that are stationary (i.e. parked). The NZ Police continue to enforce the legal compliance of vehicles using NZ roads and the local authority involvement acting on their behalf was supplemented many years ago. It is in all motorists interests that the other vehicles using the roads are up to safety standard and legally entitled to be on the road with them. "Anything else you could add on this topic would be appreciated." Please note that the information provided above does not included parking infringement and/or traffic infringement notices that were originally issued but subsequently withdrawn through adjudication by either the courts or Council.
