Hello Everyone Well the weather has certainly taken a turn from absolutely freezing to boiling hot. I would like to mention that on these sweltering days, the students are inside in the cool air-conditioning. We were very lucky that the weather held out for our 150 Year Celebration. 150 YEAR CELEBRATION! What a fabulous event the 150 Year Celebration was. Speeches, ribbon cutting, cake, superb art and photos and memorabilia, mementos, food trucks, Devonshire tea and entertainment. The student performances were brilliant. Thank you to Deb Marchant and all the staff for a wonderful day – so much time and effort went into this day – it was like a wedding with all the preparation and it went so quickly! I would also like to thank the committee members Stacey Lolas, Elena Angel, Trina Henderson, Cate Flowers, Kirsty Glen, Jen Darby and all the other parents who volunteered on the day. One chap certainly enjoyed my band – Im not sure if he was an ex- student or someone from off the street, but he was singing away and he knew every word to every song we performed. Very funny. The School Captains did a wonderful speech to start the day off – they spoke clearly and confidently and set the day off with a bang. I was very proud of the acting ability of the JSC performers in the play Time Warp”. They did such a great job and it was fantastic that we could hear them clearly. Thank you to Miss C for giving up her time to prepare the students for this performance. I loved the choir singing We are Australianthe words resounded with me given the diverse group of students we have at our school. The student rock band was outstanding and delivered two very solid performances – thank you to Mr Andy Coutts and Miss Kim Issa for using their lunchtimes to rehearse the songs and instil a love of music in the students. The other student band also performed really well and delivered an original piece of music that was incredible and I think their music teacher Finn, did a great job to get them to that level of performance on the day. Thank you one and all! Hello Everyone

Well the weather has certainly taken a turn from absolutely freezing to boiling hot.

The School Captains did a wonderful speech to start the day off – they spoke clearly and confidently and set the day off with a bang. I was very proud of the acting ability of the JSC performers in the play “Time Warp”. They did such a great job and it was fantastic that we could hear them clearly. Thank you to Miss C for giving up her time to prepare the students for this performance. I loved the choir singing “We are Australian” – the words resounded with me given the diverse group of students we have at our school. The student rock band was outstanding and delivered two very solid performances – thank you to Mr Andy Coutts and Miss Kim Issa for using their lunchtimes to rehearse the songs and instil a love of music in the students. The year is quickly wrapping up – we will do a final bulletin in the last week. This will have the grade

structure for 2019 in it. We have our parent helper morning tea next Wednesday, 12 December – I hope you can make it. Christmas Carols will be a delightful way to end the term and of course the Year 6 Stu-dents will be graduating from our school - which will be bitter sweet.

We are very sorry to be losing several staff this year due to our numbers falling from 207 to 197 students and some other staff members who are leaving because the students they are responsible for are also leaving. We would like to wish the following teachers all the very best success in their future pursuits and thank them for putting in much time and effort to make our school the special place it is: Jess Banfield, Rani Bavropoulos, Elle Sullivan and Matt Wright. These staff are also leaving and we wish them all the best as well:- Ella Marchant, A lex Almendingen and Monique Le Fevre.
