Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) is an educational institution under Muhammadiyah Organization in Indonesia. It is located in Purwokerto, Central Java, Indonesia. It takes 5 hours from Jakarta and 3 hours from Yogyakarta by train. UMP was established on 5 April 1965/03 Dzulhijjah 1384 H with three pilars. They are Islamic, Modern, and Excellent which are the base of Higher Education Tridharma (Teaching, Research, and community service). Islamic; it means conducting the university governance based on principals and values of Al-Qur’an and Al-Sunnah. Modern: the university is always in line and follows development of current science based on recent human being’s needs. Excellent; it has competitive and comparative excellence in education, research, community service and management.
