One main encouragement that God reminds us of is our need to be continually rooted in Him. If we are not, all our work and efforts are but chaff.

As a direct result of this word, to kick-start the year we booked a three-day residential retreat for our whole team.

It was a wonderful time of team-building and envisioning, split into two parts. The first was a review – a day looking back, reflecting on and assessing the past 12 months. We also used this time to look at our goals and values

Forever Vision Statement:“Using the 2012 Olympic Games as a catalyst to release teams across

the UK demonstrating Christ through continuing outreach”

and to revisit our Vision Statement, a rewritten draft of which is in the box (below).

The rest of the time was given to seeking God for direction and strategy for us in our individual roles as well as together as a team. God spoke to each one of us. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and a great way for us to start the year: drawn together and focussed. The beginning of a new year gave the Forever team an opportunity to look back and forward. Team Coordinator Kyle Henderson-Begg reflects.

New to the team“Hello, my name is Helena Kittle. I come from York, where I worked in children’s and youth work for a local church. I am quite new to YWAM, having done my DTS in 2009 and then joined the Forever team as the Youth & Children’s Coordinator in September last year.

“My dreams for this role involve recruiting a youth and kid’s team for Forever, partnering with churches who are passionate about mission to young people and children, writing resources, networking and working with other youth and children’s agencies and pioneering some new youth and kid’s ministry.

“My passion within Forever is to partner with churches, helping them to think through their youth and children’s ministry and how they could use the Olympics to reach out to the young people in their communities. This could be through resources, networking, training or sending outreach teams to them.

“I’m also excited to encourage children and young people on outreach during 2012 and see it have a huge impact both on our nation, and on the individuals who come on a team.”

Praise God for• The Forever website is back

up and running after being hacked just before Christmas.

• New staff Rebecka and Dondi have arrived safely; it’s great to have them here.

• For the way God is opening doors and already preparing places for teams to go into.

• The initial response for the Missions Workshop (see right) has been very positive.

Please pray for• Continued strength for the team,

especially in the area of health. • Favour for YWAM at meetings

with London church leaders early this month.

• For administrators for the team.
