International Astronomy Day2 May 2020

The wing celebrated International Astronomy Day on 2 May 2020. It provides an opportunity to students to explore universe in their own way. The students of classes I-V made posters, crowns of the solar system, observed the sky on the full moon night, identified different constellations and their relation with zodiac signs & took a picture with the moon. It was really an amazing experience for the students.

A Poster Making Competition was organized by Paryavaran Sanrakshan on 21 April 2020 to create a general awareness about the importance of atmosphere among the students. To apprise the students of the rich & varied heritage of India, the wing celebrated Baisakhi with great enthusiasm on 13 April 2020. All the Pre Primary students clad in yellow dresses & spread the flavor of ripeness & maturity. They relished cooking various yellow coloured dishes with the help of their mothers. The students of classes III- V enjoyed dancing on the Punjabi tunes.

Mother's Day was celebrated by the wing on 9 May 2020. The students of classes I – V took part in hands-on activity & made beautiful & attractive cards & crowns to pay tribute to idols of selfless love i.e. their mothers. On the same occasion to showcase their love for their mothers. All the students clicked selfie with them & posted them on their class whatsapp groups.

Yoga: Suryanamaskar Activity“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; harmony between man and nature; & a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. With the same motive the wing conducted Yoga: Suryanamaskar Activity on 11 April 2020. All the students of classes I- V performed it & shared their photographs & videos online.

Earth Day Celebration

Rishikul is committed to teach its students how to live in harmony with nature. To create an exigent awareness about the importance of protecting the Earth and its natural resources the wing celebrated “Earth Day” on 8 April 2020. The students of classes I-V participated in various activities like Poem Recitation, Slogan Writing, Poster Making, etc and shared them online & spread the message'Go Green' among all.

Ganga Quest

To enhance the efficiency of teachers, 'Teachers Training' is an integral part of Rishikul. Teachers are always here imparted new and updated methods of teaching. During this pendemic the teachers of Rishikul Vidyapeeth Sonepat utilized their time learning online courses offered by UNSW Sydney (The university of New South Wales) Australia. The university offers a number of online certificate courses for the teachers such as Learning to Teach Online, Foundations of Teaching for Learning, Supporting Children with Difficulties in Reading and Writing, ADHD: Everyday Strategies for Elementary Students, Understanding Classroom Interaction, etc. The online courses were assigned wingwise to the teachers according to their respective subjects .The teachers completed all the assigned courses very faithfully and the outcomes are really fruitful

The Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 June 2020 with full enthusiasm and energy by the teachers and the students of Rishikul Vidyapeeth staying at their own places. The teachers and students were informed beforehand to do yoga practice on the very day and send pics of yoga poses to the school authority. The responses were unrestricted. The celebration was not only for the specific day but also to take a pledge to continue it to keep oneself fit and disease free.Yoga is an art of living which rejuvenate us and make us free from so many diseases. During this pandemic covid 19 it has been proved that Yoga can prevent us from this disesases by increasing our immunity power. Intra-section Online e-Sash/Crown/Greeting Card Making Competition

Mothers are one of the first indications of the sovereignty of God in our lives who teach us to have confidence and belief in ourselves. Keeping the same view in mind, an Intra-section Online e-Sash/Crown/Greeting Card Making competition was organised for the students of classes I-X on the occasion of Mother's Day on 10 May 2020. All the participants made this competition a huge success by participating wholeheartedly in it. The winners are:

The Department of Environment, Forest and Climate change, Govt. of Bihar organised an Online Art Competition for the students to enhance their creativity and encourage awareness to protect the environment. The last date of the competition was 2 June 20.The entries from all over the world were invited. The Energetic Rishikulians showed their concern for the nature & biodiversity and exhibited their ideas through their beautiful creations. More than 50 students participated in it and brought laurels to the school.

Online Art Competition

An online quiz on river Ganga was organised from 22 April to 22 May 2020 by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) & CBSE for the people above the age of 10 years. The aim of the competition was to increase the awareness of children and youth about rivers especially the Ganga. The second edition of the Ganga Quest was conducted from 22 April to 22 May 20. The energetic mentors & enthusiastic learners showed their wisdom and participated in it. The winners were awarded with excit ing prizes and certificates of appreciation.

Quiz on COVID-19

National Quiz Competition

To spread awareness and d i s s e m i n a t e t h e r i g h t information about covid 19, MyGovt. organised a quiz on 29April 2020 for the citizens of india. Eager and fervent mentors and students showed their intense and deep knowledge and participated actively in it. The participants were awarded with certificates of appreciation.

On the birth centenary of Vikram Sarabhai, the great Scientist, Raman Science and Technology Foundation, Gujarat and Vigyan Prasar N e t w o r k , V P Department of Science & Technology Govt. of India organised an Online National Quiz Competition on 5 June 2020 on the theme 'Mission Aditya LI'. The creative and energetic Rishikulians participated in it enthusiastically and showed their creativity through their scientific activities.

To develop logical reasoning skills and also to empower their out of box thinking skills, every year BRICS forum organises the BRICS Maths Online Challenge for the students of grade 1 to 12. Rishikulians participated in this competition and showed their in depth knowledge of the subject. More than 207 students showed their competitive spirits and brought laurels to the school.

To provide the students an opportuni ty to explore , understand and enjoy learning process, different competitions like Mimicry, Best Out of Waste, Paper Folding, etc were held in the month of May 20 at Bal Bhawan, Sonepat. The Students participated in them and brought laurels to the school. Ekansh and Aditya Singh of Class IX A got II and III position respectively in Mimicry competition held on 13 May 2020

The national Institute of Science Communication a n d I n f o r m a t i o n Resources (NISCAIR) New Delhi Organised an online competition for the school students on the theme Biodiver s i ty . Various competitions were organised for the students to unlock their c r e a t i v i t y a n d i m a g i n a t i o n . T h e students presented their ideas on 'Corona Virus Pandemic is a Boon for Nature & Biodiversity' in an articulate manner by giving interesting examples. The students took pledge to save the mother earth.

Competitions provide not only a myriad of opportunities for students but also a platform to demonstrate their talent and a stepping-stone to achieve desired result in life. An Online Orientation Programme for

Students of Class XI

The School organised an online orientation programme under the guidance of HR Manager Ms Archana Sharma, for the students of Class XI to guide them how to select the stream after Class X. A lot of Rishikulians and non Rishikulians also joined the Programme.The seasoned & experienced teachers of Rishikul Vidyapeethtold the students about various streams available in school. They elaborated the various options related to each stream and advised them to choose the stream according to their aptitude and cognizance. The teachers exhorted them to be very careful while choosing the stream and school because school here plays the most crucial role to bring success. Chairman S K Sharma blessed students with his valuable words of wisdom.
