archiviata l’edizione 2015, è la volta della diciottesima edizione del Concorso Bandistico interna-zionale Flicorno d’oro, che vedrà rinnovarsi l’ormai tradizionale appuntamento musicale prima-verile. la scorsa edizione ha rappresentato l’ennesimo centro della collaudata organizzazione della manifestazione, che stabilmente mette a punto il concorso fin dal lontano 1991. Venticinque anni fantastici per il movimento bandistico nazionale e internazionale che a riva del Garda ha scritto una delle migliori pagine della sua storia in tutti i sensi: musica di qualità, crescita artistica, recu-pero della tradizione bandistica italiana, affiancata da tanti nuovi compositori e non da ultimo i tanti ragazzi che negli ultimi anni si sono affacciati sempre più numerosi alla ribalta del concorso. a margine della competizione, in questo senso nel 2015 è stato un successo l’organizzazione del First Yamaha european Class Band Festival, in collaborazione con lo sponsor Yamaha europe. si è trattato dell’incontro di 9 realtà giovanili composte da ragazzi tra i 12 e i 15 anni, di sette nazionalità diverse; c.a. 250 ragazzi che sono giunti a riva del Garda sotto il segno della musica. l’impegno organizzativo espresso in questi mesi dall’associazione Flicorno d’oro, è stato iden-tico al passato e questo è sicuramente garanzia per una buona riuscita della manifestazione. la direzione artistica del concorso è sempre curata dal maestro daniele Carnevali, mentre la giuria, potrà contare su musicisti di fama e carisma internazionale: alla presidenza il maestro Jan Cober (nl), coadiuvato poi dai maestri Bert appermont (B), thomas doss (a), Felix hauswirth (Ch), thomas ludescher (a), paolo mazza (i) e angelo sormani (i). Colgo qui l’occasione per formulare a tutti loro un sentito grazie per aver accettato di essere presenti a riva del Garda. l’indiscutibile levatura musicale della giuria è stata ed è anche oggi garanzia di valutazioni precise, riconosciute tra gli elementi più validi della manifestazione in italia ed all’estero. anche in questa edizione, a margine del concorso, la presenza di un’esposizione di strumenti musi-cali, di incontri e dibattiti che potranno arricchire tutti coloro che desidereranno trascorrere a riva del Garda un fine settimana all’insegna della musica e della cultura. si ripropone quindi l’incontro e il confronto tra culture musicali diverse, che danno al concorso quella peculiarità e distinzione che lo rendono unico in italia e che fanno della città di riva del Garda una delle capitali europee della musica bandistica. Fogge e divise multicolori come simboli di apparte-nenza a culture musicali diverse, dietro le quali centinaia di musicisti esprimono il desiderio di conoscersi, di ascoltarsi. altro dato veramente entusiasmante, la presenza di tantissimi giovani che nelle ultime edizioni hanno avuto l’opportunità di farsi apprezzare per le loro doti artistiche, oltre che dare all’evento un volto nuovo e dinamico. altro momento tradizionalmente signifi-

cativo, la serata inaugurale, dove oltre ai saluti di rito, avremo modo di ascoltare presso la sala 1000 del palazzo dei Congressi, la sala che tradizionalmente è la sede delle prove di concorso, il concerto di apertura tenuto dall’orchestra di Fiati del Conservatorio Jacopo tomadini di Udine. a loro il ringraziamento ufficiale per essere presenti su questo palcoscenico. imman-cabile ma comunque doveroso ricordare l’impegno ed il sostegno della provincia autonoma di trento, nella persona dell’assessore tiziano mellarini, del comune di riva del Garda nella persona dell’assessore renza Bollettin, della regione trentino alto adige, dell’azienda per il turismo ingarda trentino, della Federazione dei Corpi Bandistici della provincia di trento ed al suo presidente renzo Braus, del Bim, Bacini imbriferi montani sarca Garda mincio, della fondazione Caritro. Un particolare ringraziamento alla Cassa rurale alto Garda, alla ditta Yamaha music europe nella persona di Gianbattista Corti, a riva del Garda Fierecongressi, alla fattiva collaborazione del Corpo Bandistico riva del Garda ed al suo presidente lino trenti. a tutti i volontari che nei giorni del concorso si prodigheranno per la miglior riuscita dell’edi-zione il mio più sentito grazie. auguro a tutti una felice e serena permanenza a riva del Garda ed alle bande iscritte, che il concorso possa regalare nuovi stimoli e rinnovato entusiasmo nel segno della musica.

With the 2015 event concluded, it will soon be time for the eighteenth edition of the Fli-corno d’Oro International Band Competition, which will return for its traditional Spring-time musical slot. Last year’s event is yet further proof of the successful organisation of the competition, which has been running ever since 1991. Twenty-five fantastic years for the national and international band movement that, in Riva del Garda, has written one of the best pages in its entire history in every sense: quality music; artistic development; revival of the Italian band tradition – side by side with many new composers and last but not least, the many young people who, in ever increasing numbers, enter the competition. Alongside the contest itself, the organisation of the First Yamaha European Class Band Festival in 2015 was equally as successful – organised in collaboration with the sponsor, Yamaha Europe. This involved getting together 9 youth bands made up of teenagers aged between 12 and 15 years, of seven different nationalities: around 250 young people arrived in Riva del Garda in pursuit of music. The organisational commitment demonstrated by the Flicorno d’Oro Association over the past months is identical to previous efforts, and this, no doubt, will guarantee the success of the event. The competition’s artistic direction has always been in the hands of the maestro Daniele Carnevali, whereas the jury is made up of musicians of international fame and charisma. The pres-idency is held by Maestro Jan Cober (NL), assisted by the maestros: Bert Appermont (B), Thomas Doss (A), Felix Hauswirth (CH), Thomas Ludescher (A), Paolo Mazza (I) and Angelo Sormani (I). I would like to take this opportunity to offer my heartfelt thanks to all those who have agreed to join us in Riva del Garda. The unquestionable musical stature of the jury has always been, and will continue to be, a guarantee of precise assessments, recognised both in Italy and abroad as one of the most vital elements of the event. Once again this year, the competition will be accompanied by a display of musical instruments, meetings and debates, which will enhance the experience for those who opt to spend a weekend in Riva del Garda in the quest for music and culture. We therefore offer once again this chance to meet and compare differ-ent musical cultures, which give the competition its unusual edge and distinct quality, making it unique in the whole of Italy, and enabling Riva del Garda to be one of Europe’s capitals for band music. The shapes and multi-coloured uniforms are a symbol of belonging to different

musical cultures, and behind which hundreds of musicians express their desire to get to know each other and to listen to each other. Another truly exciting aspect is the presence of so many young people who, in recent editions, have had the chance to be appreciated for their artistic talents, as well as giving the event a new and dynamic image. Another significant and tradi-tional moment is the inaugural evening, where, in addition to the customary greetings, there will be the chance to listen to the opening concert by the Woodwind Orchestra of the Jacopo Tomadini Conservatory of Udine. I would like to thank them officially for their presence on this stage. Vital and important to remember is the commitment and support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, represented by the assessor Tiziano Mellarini, of the municipality of Riva del Garda, represented by the assessor Renza Bollettin, of the Trentino Alto Adige region, Ingarda Trentino – the local tourist board, the Band Federation of the Province of Trento and their chairman, Renzo Braus, of BIM, (the Sarca, Garda, Mincio catchment area) and the Caritro foundation. A special thanks goes to the Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, to the Yamaha Music Europe company, represented by Gianbattista Corti, to Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, to the active contribution of the Riva del Garda Band Corps and its chairman, Lino Trenti. To all the volunteers, whose endeavours will ensure the success of the event, I offer my sincere thanks. I wish you all a happy and peaceful stay in Riva del Garda and, to all the bands enrolled, I hope that the competition will regale you with new stimuli and renewed enthusiasm in the quest for music.

2015 Flicorno d’Oro wurde gerade zu den Akten gelegt, und da steht die 18. Ausgabe des Flicorno d’Oro schon vor der Tür. Der Wettbewerb ist mit der Zeit eine, im Frühling wiederkeh-rende, traditionelle musikalische Begegnung geworden. Die letzte Veranstaltung war wieder ein Beweis einer erfolgreichen Organisation, die 1991 began. 25 Jahre fantastische Jahre für den nationale und internationale Blasorchestersbereich, der hier in Riva del Garda eine der wichtig-sten Seite der musikalischen Geschichte geschrieben hat: Die Qualität der Musik, künstlerisches Wachstum, die Wiedergewinnung der italienischen Tradition der Blasorchesterswelt. Seite an Seite mit vielen jungen Komponisten, zusammen mit vielen Jugendlichen die sich in den letzten Jahren immer mehr dem Wettbewerb genähert haben. Ein Erfolg der letzten Veranstaltung war auch der erste europäische Yamaha Class Band Festival. Organisiert in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Sponsor Yamaha Europe. 9 Gruppen von jungen Musikern zwischen 12 und 15 Jahren, aus sieben verschiedenen Ländern, insgesamt 250 Jungen, die hier nach Riva im Zeichen der Musik kamen. Das in den letzten Monaten große organisatorische Engagement des Vereines Flicorno d’Oro wird garantiert für einen neuen Erfolg sorgen. Die künstlerische Leitung des Wettbewerbes liegt immer noch in den Händen von Maestro Daniele Carnevali; während die internationale Jury auf weltberühmte und charismatische Musiker zählen kann. Der Vorsitzende Maestro Jan Cober (NL) wird von Maestri Bert Appermont (B), Thomas Doss (A), Felix Hauswirth (CH), Thomas Ludescher (A), Paolo Mazza (I) und Angelo Sormani (I) unterstützt. Ich möchte bei dieser Gelegenheit allen herzlich danken, dass sie eingewilligt haben, an der internationalen Jury teilzunehmen. Auch in dieser Ausgabe finden neben dem Wettbewerb, Treffen und Debatten statt, die eine Bereicherung für alle jene darstellen, die ein Wochenende in Riva del Garda unter dem Zeichen der Musik und Kultur verbringen möchten. Das hohe unbestreitbar musikalische Niveau der Jury hat in der Vergangenheit und wird auch zukünftig eine präzise Abschätzung versi-chern, was als den wertvollste Bestandteil dieser Veranstaltung sowohl in Italien als auch im Ausland, bezeichnet wurde . Es wird also wieder ein Treffen von verschiedenen Musikkulturen

stattfinden, die dem Wettbewerb jene Besonderheit und Auszeichnung verleihen, die ihn zu etwas Einzigartigem in Italien macht und die Stadt Riva del Garda zu einer der europäischen Haupt-städten der Blasorchester-Musik werden lässt. Trachten und farbenprächtige Uniformen als Symbol der Zugehörigkeit zu verschiedenen Musikkulturen, hunderte Musiker, die sich ken-nenlernen und konfrontieren möchten. Eine weitere erfreuliche Tatsache ist die Anwesenheit so vieler Jungen, die bei den letzten Ausgaben die Möglichkeit hatten, sich durch ihre künstlerischen Leistungen auszuzeichnen und der Veranstaltungen ein neues und dynamisches Image verleihen. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt des Wettbewerbes ist der Eröffnungsabend, wo wir abgesehen von den rituellen Begrüßungen auch die Gelegenheit haben werden, ein Konzert mit dem Orchester Fiati del Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini von Udine zuhören. Ihnen gilt unsere offizielle Danksagung. Bei der Gelegenheit möchte ich mich natürlich auch für den Einsatz und die Unterstützung der Autonomen Provinz Trient, in Person von Assessor Tiziano Mellarini, der Gemeinde Riva del Garda, in Person von Renza Bollettin, der Region Trentino Alto Adige/Südtirol, des Tourismus-verbandes Ingarda Trentino, des Verbandes der Musikkapellen von Trient und dessen Präsidenten Renzo Braus, des Bim (Gebirgeseinzugsgebiete) Sarca Garda Mincio, der Stiftung Caritro bedan-ken. Ein besonderes Dankeschön geht auch an Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, an die Firma Yamaha Music Europe, in Person von Gianbattista Corti, an den Messeverband von Riva del Garda, an die aktive Mitarbeit der Musikkapelle Riva del Garda in Person ihrers Präsidenten Lino Trenti. Ein herzliches Dankeschön auch an alle Freiwilligen Mitarbeiter, die während des Wettbewerbes zum erfolgreichen Ausgang des Events beitragen werden. Ich wünsche allen einen angenehmen und geruhsamen Aufenthalt in Riva del Garda und den teilnehmenden Musikkapellen, dass ihnen der Wettbewerb neuen Ansporn und erneute Begeisterung fuer die Musik schenken möchte.

Con soddisfazione saluto questa nuova edizione del Flicorno d’oro, un appuntamento che è dive-nuto nel corso degli anni una tappa di rilievo e molto attesa nel panorama bandistico internazio-nale. Un crescente apprezzamento sta infatti caratterizzando un evento rivolto ai migliori bandisti provenienti da varie realtà europee e che getta un interessante sguardo al futuro, riservando grande attenzione anche al mondo giovanile. il Flicorno si traduce in momenti di confronto arti-stico qualificanti per riva del Garda e per il trentino, che vanno oltre i pur importanti significati musicali e offrono spunti positivi anche sul terreno della promozione territoriale, della ricono-sciuta capacità di ospitare ed organizzare al meglio eventi di caratura internazionale. il ritrovarsi a riva del Garda sta infatti divenendo ricorrente in molte formazioni bandistiche provenienti da diversi paesi europei. se a questo poi si affiancano la competenza e la professionalità delle giurie che si sono succedute negli anni e che hanno accompagnato le più diverse interpretazioni nelle varie categorie, è con soddisfazione che possiamo considerare il Flicorno d’oro un vero e proprio gioiellino con cui l’intero trentino, con orgoglio, si apre e guarda all’europa.Fin dalla sua prima edizione del 1991, il Flicorno d’oro si è posto l’obbiettivo di creare momenti di confronto musicale e occasioni di arricchimento artistico. il costante incremento della parte-cipazione e la crescita del livello artistico dei gruppi in concorso hanno sempre più accreditato l’appuntamento facendolo divenire un vero e proprio momento di incontro e di riferimento per gli appassionati della musica bandistica ad ampio respiro.Un sentito ringraziamento va all’associazione organizzatrice di riva del Garda, agli enti pubblici e privati, a tutti i volontari che con passione e dedizione si stanno spendendo per la piena riuscita anche di questa edizione 2016 del concorso e di tutte le iniziative. Un benvenuto ai musicisti partecipanti e ai loro accompagnatori con l’augurio che il Flicorno d’oro possa essere vissuto e ricordato certamente come esperienza artistica di alto livello ma anche come momento pieno di conoscenza e arricchimento culturale personale.

Growing appreciation surrounds this event, aimed at attracting the best bands from all over Europe, casting an interesting glance towards the future, and also paying great attention to the youth element. significant for Riva del Garda and the whole of Trentino, going beyond the obvious importance of its musical aspect, to encompass the area’s well-known ability to host and organise events of an international nature in the best possible way. As a matter of fact, getting together in Riva del Garda is becoming a recurring theme for numerous band formations from all over Europe. If we then add to this the competence and professionalism of the juries who have presided over the years and have witnessed a vast range of interpretations in each of the categories, we can consider the Flicorno d’Oro as a real jewel in our crown, through which the whole of the Trentino province can proudly open its doors to Europe. Ever since its first edition in 1991, the Flicorno d’Oro has set its sights on creating a setting for musical confrontation and artistic enrichment. The increasing number of participants and growth of the artistic level of competing bands have combined to establish the event as a real meeting point of reference for fans of a wide range of band music. A heartfelt thank you goes to the organising association of Riva del Garda, to both public and private bodies, to all the volunteers who, with passion and dedication, offer their time to ensure the maximum success once again, for this, the 2016 edition of the competition and all the related initiatives. A warm welcome to the participating musicians and their travelling companions, with the wish that the Flicorno d’Oro will be enjoyed and remembered as a high level artistic experience and also as a moment filled with knowledge and personal, cultural development.

Mit besonderer Freude und Genugtuung begrüße ich Sie zu dieser neuen Ausgabe des Flicorno d’Oro; die ständig zunehmende Beliebtheit von Flicorno d’Oro ist Zeuge dafür, wie wichtig und verwurzelt diese Veranstaltung bereits im internationalen Kulturpanorama ist. Ein Event, dass die Grenzen unserer Provinz für die besten europäischen Blasorchester öffnet und einen interessanten Blick auf die Zukunft und auch auf die Welt der Jugend wirft. Eine qualifizierende Veranstaltung für Riva del Garda und das Trentino, die über die Bedeutung der Musik hinausreicht und positive Anregungen auch im Bereich der Promotion unserer Provinz und deren Fähigkeit liefert, kulturelle Veranstaltungen auf europäischer Ebene zu beherbergen und zu organisieren. Bereits seit der ersten Ausgabe im Jahre 1991 hat sich Flicorno d’Oro das Ziel gesteckt, Gelegenheiten für die musikalische Konfrontation und künstlerische Bereicherung zu schaffen. Die steigende Zunahme an Teilnehmern und die ständige Verbesserung des künstlerischen Niveaus der am Wettbewerb teilnehmenden Gruppen haben der Veranstaltung Glaubwürdigkeit verliehen und sie zu einem wahren Treffpunkt für Liebhaber von Blasorchestermusik gemacht.Das Zusammentreffen in Riva del Garda wird zu einer regelmäßigen Gewohnheit für viele aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern kommenden Blasorchester. Wenn man dazu noch die Kom-petenz und die Seriosität der Jury betrachtet, die im Laufe der Jahre die verschiedenartigsten Interpretationen in den diversen Kategorien begleitet haben, so können wir mit Genugtuung die Veranstaltung Flicorno d’Oro als ein echtes und wertvolles Juwel betrachten, mit dem sich das ganze Trentino mit Stolz dem Europa öffnet. Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht an die Organisa-toren der Veranstaltung von Riva del Garda, an die öffentlichen und privaten Ämter, an alle Freiwilligen, die mit Liebe und großem Einsatz zum guten Gelingen auch dieser 18. È motivo di orgoglio per chi, come me, ha l’onore di rappresentare la città di riva del Garda, accogliere e salutare la nuova edizione del prestigioso concorso bandistico internazionale Flicorno d’oro, giunto al traguardo della 18ª edizione. Una manifestazione che riassume al meglio alcuni degli elementi d’identità di riva del Garda: l’amore per l’arte e per la musica, l’apertura ai popoli e all’incontro, la vocazione all’accoglienza e all’eccellenza. la banda è un collettivo musicale amato, popolare, vicino alla gente e alle tradizioni. il Flicorno d’oro ha il grande merito di dare la ribalta e il giusto risalto alle bande musicali, alla loro meritoria attività, alla dimensione di gruppo eterogeneo e trans-generazionale, un nucleo di società depositario della tradizione che allo stesso tempo è aperto al mondo, curioso, vivace e plurale. Una piccola-grande palestra di vita. Una palestra di vita vivace e contagiosa che per qualche giorno guadagna il palcoscenico della nostra città e di un concorso prezioso, al quale auguro un’edizione di successo e grandi soddisfazioni, come merita l’impegno e la dedizione degli organizzatori e di tutti i volontari che lo rendono possibile. a tutti i partecipanti, infine, il più caloroso benvenuto, con l’augurio di una bella esperienza e di una piacevole permanenza nella nostra città.

It is a source of great pride for a person, like me, who has the honour of representing the town of Riva del Garda, to welcome and greet the new edition of the prestigious international band competition Flicorno d’Oro, which has now reached its 18th edition. An event that brings together brilliantly some of the best features of Riva del Garda: the love of art and music; the openness to people and getting together and the excellent talent for hospitality. The band is a well-loved and popular musical concept, closely linked to the people and their traditions. Flicorno d’Oro has the great merit of giving the spotlight and just emphasis to the bands, to their worthy activity, to the heterogeneous and trans-generational group dimensions, a core of traditional companies who, at the same time, are also open to the world – curious, lively and plural. A great little gymnasium of life. A gymnasium of life that is both lively and contagious and which, for a few days, takes the stage of our town by means of a precious competition, to which I wish every success along with great satisfaction, as is deserving for the enormous commitment and dedication of all those organisers and volunteers who make it possible. Finally, I offer the warmest of welcomes to all the participants, wishing you a wonderful experience and a pleasant stay in our town.

siamo giunti alla diciottesima edizione del concorso Flicorno d’oro organizzato a riva del Garda ormai dal lontano 1991, un concorso internazionale tra i più importanti d’europa, organizzazione con grandi capacità tecniche- organizzative a dimostrazione della partecipazione, ogni anno di un numero cospicuo di Corpi Bandistici da tutta europa. Una qualità musicale in continuo aumento che porta ad avere delle eccellenze del mondo bandistico internazionale, la competenza e la serietà della giuria sono il presupposto del successo del concorso una giuria internazionale di alto livello che sa qualificare al meglio il livello dei gruppi partecipanti esprimendo dei giudizi dove la banda deve collocarsi nelle varie categorie previste. Un plauso va al corpo bandistico riva del Garda e al suo staff per come riescono ad organizzare nei giorni del concorso, nei minimi particolari un evento di così grande importanza; la capacità di essere attrattivi rispetto ai sistemi bandistici nazionali e internazionali e le capacità nell’aspetto aggregante e formativo della musica, stanno a dimostrare la validità del settore bandistico trentino anche in un’epoca di ristrettezze economiche.la Federazione dei Corpi Bandistici del trentino auspica che l’organizzazione di questo grande evento musicale possa continuare nel futuro per elevare ulteriormente la qualità delle bande partecipanti.

We are approaching the eighteenth edition of the Flicorno d’Oro competition, organised in Riva del Garda since way back in 1991. It is one of Europe’s most important international contests, which demonstrates huge technical and organisational capacity, as shown by its participation, every year attracting a substantial number of bands from all over Europe. A constantly increas-ing musical quality that results in having the crème de la crème from the world of international bands, together with the competence and reliability of the jury - essential for the success of the competition: a high-level international jury that knows how best to qualify the level of the par-ticipating groups by expressing judgments on where each band should be placed in the various categories. Praise goes to the Riva del Garda band corps and its staff for the way in which they manage to organise the days of the competition, attending to every tiny detail of such an impor-tant event: their ability to be attractive compared to national and international band set-ups and their capacity in the aggregating and training aspects of music, go to show the validity of the Trentino band sector, even in times of such economic hardship. The Trentino Band Corps Federation hopes that the organisation of this great musical event may continue well into the future in order to raise the quality of participating bands even further.

Dieses Jahr findet die 18. Ausgabe des Internationalen Blasorchester-Wettbewerbs Flicorno d’Oro statt. Seit 1991 einer der bedeutendsten und wichtigsten internationalen Wettbewerbe Europas. Das äußerste Interesse der nationalen und internationalen Welt der Blasmusik für unsere namhafte Veranstaltung, wird auch dank der großen Teilnehmerzahl dieses 18. Flicorno d’Oro bewiesen. Darum geht ein verdienter Applaus an alle, vor allem an Corpo Bandistico Riva del Garda, die in all diesen Jahren großen Einsatz, Fähigkeit und perfekte Organisation gezeigt hat, um diese außergewöhnliche Gelegenheit der Begegnung zu fördern und auf ein hohes Niveau zu bringen – die Veranstaltung ist somit zu einem wichtigen Beziehungspunkt geworden für alle, die ihr musikalisches Können verbessern wollen.Wenn man dazu noch die Kompetenz und die Seriosität der Jury betrachtet, die im Laufe der Jahre die verschiedenartigsten Interpretationen in den diversen Kategorien begleitet haben, so können wir mit Genugtuung die Veranstaltung Flicorno d’Oro als ein echtes und wertvolles Juwel betrachten und dass trotz der Wirtschaftskrise, die mehr oder weniger alle betrifft.Der Verband Corpi Bandistici del Trentino wünscht sich für die Zukunft einen ständigen Zuwachs dieser wichtigen musikalischen Veranstaltung um die Qualität der teilnehmenden Blasorchester weiter zu verbessern

daniele Carnevali, diplomatosi al Conservatorio di parma in tromba e strumentazione per banda e in musica corale e direzione di coro al Conservatorio di Bologna, ha poi seguito corsi di direzione d’orchestra con il maestro piero Guarino. inizialmente svolse attività di trombettista in varie orchestre lirico-sinfoniche quali la “arturo toscanini” dell’emilia romagna e altre, alternandole all’insegnamento di tromba e trombone nei Conservatori di parma e modena.Contemporaneamente si dedicò all’arrangiamento e alla trascrizione di complessi per ottoni e a composizioni originali per bande attraverso le quali si distinse vincendo diversi premi. le sue composizioni si caratterizzano per l’utilizzo di vari generi musicali, per le differenti tipologie d’organico bandistico e per i diversi gradi di difficoltà, grazie ai quali sono spesso utilizzate come brani d’obbligo nei concorsi in italia e in Francia.Carnevali collaborò con molte case editrici come eridanea, molenaar e dal 1993 a oggi in modo continuo ed esclusivo con scomegna.le sue circa trenta composizioni sono state incise in più di quaranta cd, dieci dei quali registrati dall’autore in italia (ed. scomegna) e in Germania (ed. He graduated in trumpet and band instrumentation at the Conservatory of Parma and in choral music and conduction at the Conservatory of Bologna. He was a trumpet player in various orches-tras such as Arturo Toscanini from Emilia Romagna and in the same time teacher at the Parma and Modena Conservatories. At the same time, he worked on transcription for brass ensemble and on original composition for band – for which he has won several prizes at competitions. He has worked for publishers as Eridanea, Molenaar and since 1993 he is a Scomegna composer. All of his 30 compositions have been recorded on more of 40 cd, 10 by himself in Italy (ed. Scomegna) and in Germany (ed. Carpe Diem). He has conducted several bands such as Sab-bioneta, G. Verdi Città di Parma, “101” of Fabbrico, Corpo bandistico di Albiano, Trentino Wind Band (TN - first prize Valencia 1998) and as guest conductor some prestigious bands like Banda dell’Esercito Italiano, Filarmonica G. Andreoli of Mirandola, Civica of Soncino (CR - first prize Flicorno d’Oro 1999), Euterpe of Canicattini Bagni, G. Daniele Carnevali hat am Konservatorium von Parma das Diplom Trompete und Instrumentierung für Musikkapellen erworben, sowie für Chormusik und Chorleitung am Konservatorium von Bolo-gna. Er hat verschiedene Kurse Orchesterleitung bei Maestro Piero Guarino besucht. Zunächst spielte er die Trompete in verschiedenen Orchestern, worunter im Arturo Toscanini Orchester der Emilia Romagna, wechselte diese Tätigkeit aber ab mit dem Unterricht für Trompete und Posaune an den Musikhochschulen Parma und Modena. Gegenwärtig widmet er sich dem Arrangement und der Transkription für verschiedene Blasmusikformationen und der Originalmusik für Musikkapelle, womit er sich in den Wettbewerben auszeichnet. Er komponiert für unterschiedli-che Musikgenres und für die verschiedensten Gruppenzusammensetzungen; seine Kompositionen variieren auch bezüglich Schwierigkeitsgrad und werden oft als Pflichtstück bei Wettbewerben in Italien und Frankreich eingesetzt. Er hat mit den Musikverlegern Eridanea und Molenaar zusam-mengearbeitet und ab 1993 veröffentlicht er ausschließlich bei Scomegna. Seine 30 Kompositionen wurden auf mehr als 40 CDs herausgebracht, 10 davon nahm er in Italien (Musikverlag Scomegna) und in Deutschland (Musikverlag Carpe Diem) auf. Jan Cober dirige molti festival internazionali (tra gli altri Berlino, Boston, sydney e Valencia). sin dal 1980 è direttore ospite di molte orchestre olandesi ed europee. dal 1998 è direttore della Banda Giovanile europea. To be born in the small city of Thorn, the Netherlands, means that the source of music is close to you.Jan Cober’s first contact to music was studying clarinet with his father and later at the con-servatory of Maastricht. When he was 19 years old he got the position of solo clarinettist in the Radio-Orchestra and 4 years later the same position in The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra. For a long period, he has participated in Chamber music-ensembles and as soloist. Besides this musical activity he started to conduct. His great musical and artistic qualities made Jan Cober a respected international musician and conductor. He conducts in several countries all over the world from Por-tugal to Australia and from Spain to Japan. He was principal conductor of the RBO Orchestra in Leipzig and of the Swiss Army band. Since 1998 he conducts the European Youth Wind Orchestra. He has also been very successful with the Orchestras of Thorn and Eijsden (NL). His knowledge and experience in combination with his charisma made him a beloved professor for conducting. He was artistic director of the ISEB, institute for conducting in Trento, Italy. He is professor in conducting at the Conservatory in Maastricht. His method of teaching created conducting schools in Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Through his educational activities, he promoted numerous young talents, notably in Spain and Portugal. His musical message also inspired many composers to write new works, and more particularly creations for Wind orchestra.To him, it has always been a challenge to reduce music, that in appearance is complex and difficult, to its essence and simplicity.

Jan Cobers musikalisches Wirken begann 1966 mit einem Klarinetten- und Kapellmeisterstudium am Konservatorium Maastricht, das er nach neun Jahren mit dem “Prix d´Excellence” krönte. Eine Stelle als Erster Klarinettist des holländischen Rundfunkorchesters folgte 1975 die Stelle des Soloklarinettisten beim Residenzorchester in Den Haag. Während dieser Zeit vertiefte er weiterhin seine bis dahin schon ausgezeichneten Dirigierfähigkeiten bei renommierten Dirigenten wie Neéme Jàvi, Willem van Otterloo und Ferdinand Leitner. Schon bald folgten Einladungen als Gastdirigent zu Orchestern weltweit. Internationale Festivals führten ihn als Dirigent nach Ber-lin, Boston, Sydney und Valencia. Jan Cober dirigierte fast alle Symphonieorchester in Holland, fasste dann aber den Entschluss sich auf die Bläsermusik zu spezialisieren. Seit 1976 ist Jan Cober Professor für Klarinette und Dirigieren am Konservatorium für Musik in Tilburg, Maastricht und am europäischen Institut für Musik in Trento / Italien. Er gibt außerdem regelmäßig Meisterkurse für Dirigieren auf internationaler Ebene. Von 1983 bis 2004 stand er der weltbekannten Koninklijke Harmonie Thorn als Chefdirigent vor, mit der er 1997 bei der WMC in Kerkrade mit dem Erringen des Weltmeisterschaftstitels in der Konzertdivision für Harmonieorchester einen Glanzpunkt setzen konnte. Des Weiteren leitet er die Orchester Koninklijke Harmonie “Sainte Cécile” Eijsden (mit der er 2009 in Kerkrade ebenfalls Weltmeister in der Konzertdivision wurde), das Europäische Jugendblasorchester und das Symphonische Blasorchester des Schweizer Armeespiels. Von 2002 bis 2008 war Cober Chefdirigent des Rundfunk-Blasorchester Leipzig und künstlerischer Leiter der Bläserakademie Sachsen.

Bert appermont è nato a Bilzen il 27 dicembre del 1973.maestro, direttore musicale, compositore e arrangiatore studiò materie tecniche e direzione di banda, fanfara e brass band con edmond saveniers e Jan van der roost. nel 1998 completò gli studi all’istituto lemmens a leuven con un doppio master in educazione musicale e in direzione. in seguito ottenne un master in “music design for Film & television” alla “Bournemouth media school” in inghilterra, dove dedicò la sua attenzione a partiture per film e televisione. recente-mente ha perfezionato le sue tecniche di composizione con il compositore olandese daan manneke.Come educatore musicale ha lavorato in molte scuole e organizzazioni: ha trascorso 4 anni inse-gnando alla scuola di Grammatica e musica di hasselt, inoltre, per 7 anni, è stato compositore, arrangiatore e musicista dal vivo per il teatro musicale dei bambini a wiebe. al momento insegna alla Katholieke hogeschool a limburg e lavora come professore ospite per diverse organizzazioni e corsi di formazione.ispirato da Jan Cober ha continuato a crescere come direttore ospite delle sue composizioni. inoltre appermont è regolarmente ospite in seminari e workshop in Belgio e all’estero. Come compositore ha scritto non solo due musical ma anche quaranta pezzi per coro, ensemble da camera, orchestra di fiati e orchestra sinfonica. in aggiunta a questo vasto produzione egli ha scritto molte canzoni pop, musiche per teatro ragazzi, pacchetti musicali con un carattere educativo, e musica per bambini – un mezzo familiare per lui.appermont è conosciuto per il suo talento tecnico e per comporre temi eccellenti. molti dei suoi lavori sono basati su leggende, miti o temi storici, e questo da alla sua musica un particolare fascino. nel giugno del 2007 la sua composizione “Fantasia per la Vita e la morte” ha vinto il primo premio nella prestigiosa competizione di torrevieja in spagna. il suo lavoro è stato presentato in più di 20 paesi, e quasi tutte le sue composizioni sono state registrate su un Cd da rinomate orchestre di paesi quali il Giappone, la svizzera, i paesi Bassi, la danimarca, la Germania, l’italia, la spagna e il Belgio.

Bert Appermont was born in Bilzen, Belgium, on the 27th of December, 1973. In 1998 he com-pleted his studies with a double “Master of Music” certificate at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. Building upon his accomplishments in Music Education and conducting, he achieved a Masters Degree in “Music Design for Film & television” at the Bournemouth Media School in England. With the Dutch composer Daan Manneke he studied contemporary compositional techniques. As a composer he has written 2 musicals, 2 symphonies, an opera and an oratorium and more than 100 pieces for choir, chamber ensemble, wind orchestra, music theatre and symphony orchestra. In 2006, his composition Fantasia per la Vita e la Morte won the first prize in the prestigious composition contest of Torrevieja, Spain. In 2010, he wrote his first opera Katharina von Bora, which was successfully premiered in the famous Gewandhaus in Leipzig by the Sächsische Bläser-philharmonie with soloists and choir. In cooperation with Graham Reilly he wrote the music for various BBC-television productions such as The Planners, Not in my Backyard and The Reel history of Britain of which the soundtrack was recorded by the BBC-Philharmonic Orchestra.He has built up a remarkable reputation as a conductor guesting in both his native Bel-gium and abroad. He has conducted renowned orchestra’s such as the Danish Con-cert Band, the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, The Royal Symphonic Band of The Belgian Air Force, the Willem Friso Military Band and the Feroci Philharmonic Winds of Bangkok. Since August 2015, he is conducting the Oberösterreichisches Landesjugendblasorchester. His works have been performed all over the world, and nearly all of his compositions have been recorded on CD and DVD by renowned orchestras from countries such as the U.S., Japan, Swit-zerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium.

Bert Appermont (1973 Bilzen-Belgien) erwarb das Diplom „Meister der Musik“ am Lemmensin-stitut in Leuven (B), wo er neben den theoretischen Fächern Komposition und Dirigieren bei Jan Van der Roost und Edmond Saveniers studierte.Danach erwarb er das Masters-Diplom „Music Design for Film & Television“ an der „Bournemouth Media School“ in Großbritannien. Diese Studien ermöglichten es ihm, für Musicals, Filme und Fernsehen zu komponieren.Als Komponist schrieb er neben zwei Musicals bereits ca. 40 Werke für Blasorchester, Sinfonieor-chester, Kammermusikensembles und Chor. Neben diesem umfangreichen Repertoire schrieb er Musik für Jugendtheater, Musikbündel mit einem pädagogischen Charakter sowie Musik für Kinder, ein Medium, mit dem Bert Appermont sehr vertraut ist.Bert Appermont ist für seine virtuose Instrumentationstechnik und das Komponieren prächtiger Themen bekannt. Viele seiner Werke basieren auf Legenden, Mythen oder historischen Ereignissen, was seiner Musik einen besonderen Elan vermittelt. Seine Werke werden mittlerweile in mehr als 20 Ländern ausgeführt und fast all seine Kompositionen wurden mit renommierten Orchestern aus u.a. Japan, der Schweiz, den Niederlanden, Deutschland, Spanien und Belgien auf CD aufgenommen.

Doss was born 1966, in Linz, Austria, into a musical family (both parents were active orchestra-musicians). His undergraduate degree took place at the Bruckner Konservatorium Linz in music education, with an emphasis in trombone, composition, conducting, and piano. Subsequent studies took place in Salzburg, Vienna, Los Angeles, and Maastricht (Limburg).Doss debuted with the Wiener Kammerorchester in 1988. He held residencies with various opera houses and festivals, working as both conductor and composer with, among others: the Bruckner-orchester Linz, Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, Wiener Kammersinfoniker, Westfälisches Sinfo-nieorchester, Philharmonisches Orchester Budweis, Südböhmische Kammerphilharmonie, Wiener Kammerchor, Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, and the Österreichisches Ensemble für Neue Musik.Doss is known for collaborating with artists from many different genres, such as Harri Stojka, Chris de Burgh, Thomas Gansch, John Williams, Steven Mead, Christian Maurer, as well as many others. His passion for wind and brass ensembles have taken his expertise and talent around the world. He has maintained a close relationship with the Mitropa/Dehaske publishing house since 2001 and has published numerous scores and CD’s with them.Teaching and coaching young conductors and composers have also become an increasingly impor-tant part of Doss’ work. Then Remscapes, Time Machine, Vipitenium Scenes, Trance and Blackout plus some arrangements from his own works for windband. Many of his students are award-recipients at international competitions. He also leads workshops and masterclasses at institutes across Europe, such as the Konservatorium Groningen (Netherlands), Lemmensinstitut (Belgium), Konservatorium Gent (Belgium), Universität Mainz (Germany), Musikuniversität Wien, and Anton Bruckneruniversität Linz (Austria).Doss’ has been the coordinator for the „Ensembleleitung des oberösterreichischen Landesmusik-schulwerk“ since 2006. He was professor for Ensemble-Conducting in Vienna Conservatory from 2002 till 2012 and presently is Professor for conducting at the Conservatorium Monteverdi in Bolzano (I) and consults institutes looking to improve and further their conducting programs. Felix Hauswirth earned his degree in conducting and theory at the Lucerne Conservatory of Music in Switzerland. In 1983, he was guest professor for one semester at the University of Michigan in Flint, USA. In 1985, he was appointed professor of conducting at the Basel Conservatory, Switzerland. In 1983, Mr. Hauswirth founded the Swiss National Youth Wind Ensemble and conducted this ensemble until 1993. He has conducted many recordings and broadcasts with different ensembles and has received acclaim from conductors and composers from Europe, United States and Asia for his CD’s.As clinician he is regularly invited all over the world. He was President of the World Association for Sym-phonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) from 1997 - 2001. He is currently the conductor of the Baden-Württemberg Youth Wind Ensemble, Germany and the Zug Wind Orchestra, Switzerland. He is the author of several books, mainly on conducting and on wind ensemble literature.In December 2009 Felix Hauswirth received in Chicago the “Midwest Clinic International Award“ in Recognition of Outstanding Contributions and Dedication to Instrumental Music Education.

Stefano D’Aveto from 1986 to 2015, the Youth Provincial Band of Turin for Anbima in 2010, an association where he acts as national Vice-President of the Artistic Council. Paolo Mazza has recorded a total of 14 CDs for for-eign and Italian record companies, which have been broadcast by European and US radio stations. nato nel 1965, si è diplomato in tromba, in composizione di musica elettronica, in com-posizione sperimentale, in canto corale e direzione di coro ed in strumentazione per banda presso il Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” di milano dove successivamente ha conseguito a pieni voti la laurea di ii livello in direzione, composizione e strumentazione per banda. ha frequentato corsi di specializzazione in analisi, composizione e strumentazione per banda presso l’istituto superiore Bandistico europeo di trento. parallelamente agli studi musicali si è laureato in “scienze informatiche” presso l’Università degli studi di milano.le sue esperienze spaziano dalla musica classica alla musica jazz, alla Computer music. Colla-bora all’international music-project, italy-Usa che coinvolge Conservatori italiani ed Università statunitensi. É trascrittore, direttore e compositore dei “i Corni della scala” di milano con cui ha tenuto concerti in prestigiosi teatri e festival italiani. ha ottenuto significativi riconoscimenti in concorsi nazionali ed internazionali di composizione: “l. russolo”di Varese; “Città di pavia”; “V. Bucchi” di roma; Corciano (premiato in tre edizioni); “p. pernice”(premiato in due edizioni); “p. Caso”, “la prime lus”di Bertiolo, anbima di Udine, “r. marenco” (premiato in due edizioni), città di sinnai, città di mugnano.É docente di teoria e solfeggio ed armonia presso la scuola musicale della Civica Filarmonica di lugano ed insegnante di direzione e strumentazione per Banda presso l’accademia europea di musica di erba. dirige varie formazioni bandistiche ed è fondatore e direttore artistico dell’insubria wind orchestra. riceve commissioni per composizioni originali e viene invitato come direttore ospite e docente di corsi e stages di interesse bandistico nonché come giurato in concorsi di com-posizione ed esecuzione. i suoi brani sono incisi da importanti orchestre di fiati italiane tra le quali: Fiatinsieme, orchestra di Fiati del Conservatorio “a. Italian composer and conductor, he graduated in trumpet, in composition of electronic music, in experimental composition, in choral singing and choir and band instrumentation at the Conserva-tory “G.Verdi” in Milan where he later got his degree with honours Level II in direction, composition and band instrumentation. He attended specialization courses in analysis, composition and band

instrumentation at the European Institute Superior Band of Trento. Parallel to his musical studies he graduated in Computer Science at the University of Milan.His experiences range from classical music to jazz and Computer Music. He works at the Italy-US International Music-Project, involving Italian Conservatories and American Universities. He works as an arranger, a conductor and a composer with “ The Horns of la Scala” in Milan, with which he has made concerts in prestigious theatres and Italian festivals. He obtained significant awards in international composition contests: “L. Russolo “in Varese,” City of Pavia “,”V. Bucchi” in Rome; Corciano Composition Competition for Original Band (awarded in three editions),» P. Pernice «in Syracuse (awarded in two editions),» P. Caso « in Vietri sul mare, “ La prime Lus” in Bertiolo, Anbima in Udine, “R. Marenco in Novi Ligure (awarded in two editions), Sinnai and Mugnano. He teaches Theory and Harmony of Music at the Lugano Civic School of Philharmonic and he is a teacher of Direction and Instrumentation for Band at the European Academy of Music in Erba. He is the conductor of many bands and he is the founder and artistic director of the Insubria Wind Orchestra. He receives commissions for original compositions and is invited in juries of competitions for composition and executions or as a lecturer in band courses and stages. His compositions are recorded on CDs by important Italian Wind Orchestras and are published by Scomegna, Animando and BAM - Beyond Any Music.

Er hat am Istituto Superiore Bandistico Europeo in Trento an verschiedenen Fortbildungskursen für Komposition, Interpretation, Instrumentierung teilgenommen.Zur gleichen Zeit erwarb er einen Wissenschaftliche-Informatikhochschulabschluss bei der Univer-sität in Mailand. Seine musikalische Erfahrung erstreckt sich vom Jazz bis zur Computers Musik. Er arbeitet zusammen mit dem International Music-Project, Italy – Usa, das italienische sowie ameri-kanische Konservatorien miteinbezieht. Sein Werk umfasst Transkriptionen und Bearbeitungen. Er dirigiert das Ensemble “I Corni della Scala” von Milano, das er in verschiedenen berühmten italienischen Theatern dirigiert hat.Er hat mehrere Auszeichnungen für Komposition in nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben erhalten: “L.
