Geography of Italy
• Italy is located Southern Europe. A flights to Rome takes roughly 2.5 hours from London/England, 8 hours from New York/USA
Italy is easy to recognize on any world map. The country is shapedlike a high-heeled boot, as you can see on the map above.
Italy Facts: Geography
In the North, the mountain range of the Alps separates Italy fromthe other European countries France, Switzerland, Austria andSlovenia.
The highest mountain of Italy can be found in the Alps. It is theMonte Bianco, better known as Mont Blanc. There are many longand deep lakes in the North of Italy. The Po is Italy's longest river.
The Apennines are another big mountain range which go all alongthe boot and separate the East and the West of the country.
In the South of Italy there are three volcanoes. They are Vesuviusnear Naples, Etna on Sicily and Stromboli off the Coast of Italy.

only the nuclear family lives together; while inthe south, the extendedfamily often residestogether in one house.

Italians love to eatdifferent types of food.They enjoy makingeverything from fresh
ingredients, such astomatoes, cheese, flour,and spices. They alsolove to drink wine andcoffee. We enjoyedeating the spaghetti andmeatballs. It was
yummy. The pizza wasgreat too.

Travel Tourism Recommendation
We would recommend everyone to take a trip toItaly. It is a beautiful country and you will love it.
There are many places to visit and enjoy. We want togo back to see the leaning Tower of Pisa, travel ingondolas, and visit the beautiful beaches by CinqueTerre. We recommend the food as well, it was
delicious.
