ANNUAL BLINKIE AWARDSOnce a year, we recognize the people, projects, and organizations that are making Atlanta into a more bikeable and livable city. Nominations come in from the public, then the Blinkies committee makes the selections. Past award winners include Mayor Kasim Reed Bike-Friendly Official, 2013 MailChimp Bike-Friendly Business, 2014 Midtown Alliance Partner of the Year, 2014 Keisha Lance-Bottoms Bike-Friendly official, 2014

The Blinkie Awards are hand-made by a local artist from recycled bike parts. Attendance for 2015 is expected to be 500+.

The evening includes discounted admission for ABC members (currently at 1,500 members & new members can join at the door), food and beverages, a photo booth, a bike fashion show, DJ, fabulous raffle prizes, and an after-party.

Event date for 2015: Friday, February 13 (because it’s a bicycle lovefest!)

ANNUAL BELTLINE BIKE TOURThe Annual BeltLine Bike Tour celebrates the amazing project that is the Atlanta BeltLine – today and tomorrow. In this self-guided bicycle ride, hundreds of people on bikes traverses the city on sections of completed BeltLine trail as well as roads adjacent to future BeltLine trail, learning about the Atlanta BeltLine project as they go. The ride generates enthusiasm for the Atlanta BeltLine while maintaining a sense of momentum and possibility for the project.

Started in 2008 and featured on the front page of the AJC that year, the ride sold out in 2014 with 500 riders. In 2015 the maximum will be set to 1,000.

Ride date 2015: Saturday, June 13

Riders pay a small fee ($30-$45) to participate, and a portion of proceeds benefit the Atlanta BeltLine. Refreshments are provided at three or more rest stops along the two routes (the Full BeltLine and Half BeltLine) , as well as at the starting/ending location.
