Dal 1958 Filmar applica ricerca e passione alla nobilitazione di un’antica materia prima, selezionata nella sua varietà più pregiata: il cotone 100% Egitto. La qualità del cotone è ricercata all’origine, nelle tenute agricole a coltura cotoniera acquisite direttamente in Egitto per un totale di 46.000 mq di superficie.

Da un semplice filo di cotone nascono tessuti di pregiatissima fattura, declinati in migliaia di forme e tinte e distribuiti in tutto il mondo dalle più prestigiose case di moda. Allo stesso modo, con un semplice mattone si creano edifici di straordinaria bellezza. Questo è quanto ha dimostrato l’Arch. Giuliano Venturelli, che ha curato il progetto di restyling per la sede dell’impresa bresciana, mentre i Lighting Designer di SIMES hanno vestito di luce la nuova architettura.

Since 1958 FILMAR concentrates research and passion to the ennobling of an ancient raw material, selected in its finest variety: 100% cotton from Egypt. The quality of the cotton is being sought after at its very source, in the farms and agricultural estates dedicated to cotton cultivation and bought directly in Egypt for a total of 46.000 m2.

A simple cotton thread gives birth to the finest fabrics, available in thousands of shapes and tints; the most renowned fashion houses distribute them worldwide. Like with a simple brick, wonderful buildings are being built. In the same way, the architect Giuliano Venturelli, has looked after the restyling of the company’s headquarters in Brescia, whilst the lighting designers of SIMES designed the illumination for the new architecture.

Una lama di luce, accoglie i visitatori segnando in modo inequivocabile il punto esatto in cui avviene il passaggio dall’esterno all’interno dell’azienda. La LINEA CONTINUA di SIMES rappresenta un segno di luce, una traccia di spiccata eleganza che accoglie il visitatore.

LINEA CONTINUA è un apparecchio calpestabile a LED studiato per ottenere dei veri e propri tracciati di luce dalla perfetta omogeneità, indipendentemente dalla lunghezza del percorso. Estremamente facile da installare, questo prodotto è in grado di trasformare qualsiasi ambiente con classe e raffinatezza.

CONTINUOUS LINE is a walk-over fitting designed to create paths of light with perfect uniformity and unlimited lenght. Extremely easy to install, this product can transform any space with class and refinement.

Il concept strutturale dell’architetto Venturelli parte dalla rappresentazione semiotica del filato di cotone. La maschera che riveste l’edificio si compone di lastre cementizie verticali di diversa larghezza: esse rappresentano l’ordito del filato, ovvero i fili disposti verticalmente, mentre la luce proveniente dalle finestre retrostanti (dall’andamento orizzontale) rappresenta la trama che unisce i fili tramutandoli in stoffa. Osservando l’architettura da una prospettiva laterale, ne emerge un morbido tessuto che sembra avvolgere l’intera facciata, donandole un’identità unica: la nuova struttura della sede aziendale si propone infatti di comunicare il core business dell’azienda a livello simbolico.

Dei proiettori Movit montati a palo rivestono di luce la texture materica della facciata, creando dei sottili contrasti di luce e ombra, generati dall’inclinazione a 30° del fascio: questa illuminazione crea la sensazione che la membrana materica “galleggi” leggera sull’edificio.

Venturelli’s structural concept starts with the semiotic representation of cotton yarn. The coating of the building is made up of vertical concrete slabs of different width; they represent the yarn warp, i.e. the vertically arranged threads, while the light from the windows behind (with an horizontal course) represents the pattern that joins the threads converting them in fabric. Looking at the architecture from a lateral perspective, a soft fabric seems to wrap up the entire front of the building providing a unique identity: the new structure of the company’s headquarters exudes the core business at a symbolic level.

Two MOVIT post mounted floodlights illuminate the material texture of the façade creating subtle contrasts of light and shadow, generated by the inclination of 30° of the light beam. The lighting achieved provides a feeling as if a material membrane lightly floats over the building.

A blade of light welcomes the visitors marking clearly the spot where the outdoor area stops and the company’s interior begins. The LINEA CONTINUA in-ground luminaire of SIMES works like a light marker, an outline of exquisite elegance welcoming the guests.

LOOK rappresenta uno degli ultimi avanzati prodotti della tecnologia LED di SIMES ideati per sfruttarne appieno tutta la potenza riducendo notevolmente gli ingombri e i consumi. LOOK è un elegante parallelepipedo, minimale e compatto, un piccolo aggetto installabile a muro o sul suo paletto. In linea con la qualità elevata di SIMES, disegnata sulle sorgenti LED di ultima generazione, le lampade sono tutte in alluminio e vetro.

LOOK is one of the latest LED products from SIMES, engineered to maximize the LED power, whilst minimizing the size and energy consumption. Available in different versions, as wall mounted and as bollard, LOOK family introduces a new way to light up outdoor spaces. Confirming the SIMES high quality standards, these fittings are made using aluminum with low content of copper and highly robust glass. LOOK has an elegant rectangular body, minimal and compact, mounted on wall or on its bollard. The light is directed on one side through a glass window.

I Look Bollard di SIMES accompagnano l’ospite lungo il camminamento che conduce alla hall d’ingresso. Anche i gradini sono illuminati funzionalmente per consentire al visitatore la corretta lettura dello spazio. Una luce soffusa e accogliente proviene dalle vetrate, facilitando l’adattamento dell’occhio nel passaggio dalla semi oscuità esterna, alla più accentuata illuminazione interna.

The bollards of the LOOK series escort the guests along the pathway that leads to the entrance hall. The illuminated steps also provide a functional help to the visitor by giving the right feeling of space. The windows suggest a soft and welcoming illumination and assist the eye in the changeover from semi-darkness of the outdoor towards the more accentuated illumination of the interior,.

Movit è un proiettore snodato e orientabile ideale per essere installato a terra o a muro, su braccio o su paletto e pensato per produrre luce diretta o indiretta. MOVIT è elegante nelle proporzioni e con un ridotto impatto visivo rispetto ai tradizionali proiettori, facile da installare e presentato nella doppia versione con riflettore simmetrico o asimmetrico, per garantire a tutti i progettisti una eccezionale flessibilità d’impiego e coprire un ampio ventaglio di applicazioni.

MOVIT is a new extraordinary LED projector for ground or wall installation. It can be used as direct or indirect light and it’s also available with arm. MOVIT has elegant proportions and a smaller visual impact than traditional projectors, easy to install and available with asymmetric and symmetric reflector. It covers a wide range of applications and gives to all designers a high flexibility of use.

I proiettori MOVIT, installati sotto la texture materica della facciata, rinforzano la luce che proviene dall’interno: nascosti alla vista, non disturbano la linearità della struttura, ma la arricchiscono di una luce funzionale, che facilita la fruizione degli spazi di camminamento e di accesso.

Appare evidente come l’uso che il progettista fa della luce sia principalmente di natura funzionale, perché nel progetto l’illuminazione consente al visitatore di interpretare gli spazi e di muoversi in maniera sicura in essi. Ciò nondimeno, la scelta di prodotti dal design pulito e minimalista denota una spiccata propensione estetica alla linearità e al rigore delle forme.

MOVIT floodlights, installed under the material texture of the façade enhance the light coming from the interior: they are concealed to the sight and do not disturb the structure’s linearity. Moreover, they provide a functional illumination that facilitates the use of the walkways and entrance.

The designer has clearly paid attention to the functional aspects of the illumination thus created. The visitor will interpret the space illuminated as an invitation to move around securely. The choice itself of the products, clean and minimalistic, denotes a strong aesthetical proneness towards linearity and rigor of shapes.
