Noong nakaraang ika dalamput anim na araw ng buwan ng Mayo taong kasalukuyan ay pinagdiwang ang Kapistahan ng ating patron na si San Felipe Neri, kaalinsabay ang pormal na paglulunsad at pagbabas-bas ng mga bagong kampana o “Car-illon Bells” ng ating simbahan. Ito’y pinamunuan ng Kanyang Kagalang-galang na Obispo Francisco De Leon, D.D, Katulong na Obispo ng Diyose-sis ng Antipolo, kasama ang ating Kura Paroko, Msgr. Mario D. Enriquez, Fr. Edric Bedural, Fr. Nador Hesulga at iba pang kaparian mula sa Arkidiyosesis ng Maynila. Ang nasabing pagpapasinaya at pagbabasbas ay nagsimula ng ika-9 ng umaga sa kanang bahagi ng Simbahan na dinaluhan ng mga parokyano at sinundan ng isang “Concelebrated Mass”. dumalo rin si Embahador Antonio Cabangon-Chua na siyang nagbigay o “bene-factor” ng mga bagong kampana bilang regalo sa parokya sa nalalapit na pagdiriwang nito ng ika-150 na Anibersaryo ng Pagkakatatag ng Parokya. Ang nasabing mga Kampana o “Carillon Bells” ay nagmula pa sa Olandiya (Netherlands) at ito’y isang pulutong ng mga kampana na may magagandang tono at tunog na maiibigan ng bawat makakarinig nito.

Madalas ito’y makikita at maririnig sa mga malalaking Simba-han at Katedral sa Europa. Ito ay lubhang mahalaga sa atin bilang mga Parokyano ng ating simbahan sa dahilang tayo ay nangangailan-gan ng mga bagong kampana na ating magagamit sa mga misa, at ito’y isang pangarap ng pamayanan na nagkaroon ng katuparan. Nagkaroon din ng mga programa ang Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) sa pamumuno ni Sis. Gloria Gelua at mga kasamang lider upang tuluyang maging masaya at makahulugan ang ating kapistahan. Nagkaroon ng Kumpilang Bayan, sa pamumuno ng mga Katekista ng Simbahan at Education Ministry, Sportsfest ng Youth Ministry, mga Misa ng Nobenaryo sa pamumuno ng Worship Ministry at ang Parish Night na pinamunuan ng Lectors and Commentators Guild at mga Lay Ministers (E.O.M.H.C) ng parokya. Sa darating naman ngayung buwan ng Disyembre hanggang sa susunod na taon ay pasisimulan ang pagbibilang ng araw sa pagsa-lubong sa pagdiriwang ng ika isang-daan at limampung kaarawan ng pagtatatag ng ating parokya kasa-bay ng kapistahan ng Inmaculada Concepcion.

Savings Mobilize Program (SMP) - Caritas Salve, Inilunsad!!!ni Marlyn Bernardo

Isang pagtitipon tungkol sa “Con-sumer Credit / Commodity information Drive” ang inilunsad sa Parokya ng San Felipe Neri, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Caritas Salve Credit Cooperative ng Caritas Manila, noong ika-17 ng Marso, 2012 na dinaluhan ng may 144 na mga miyembro ng BEC at SSDM na mula sa iba’t–ibang Area ng parokya. Ilan sa mga napag-usapan sa nasabing pagtitipon ay tungkol sa pama-maraan ng pag-iimpok (savings) sa pama-magitan ng pagsali sa SMP, at ang layunin nito ay upang turuan ang mahihirap na mag-ipon sa kaya nilang halaga. Kung ang Caritas Salve red boolket ay may minimum na 50 pesos sa Savings, ang SMP naman ay 10 pesos lamang, ito ay upang maabot kaya ng mga mahihirap. Ipinaliwanag din ni Fr. Marios Castillo na kung magkano ang kanilang savings ganun din halaga ang kanilang

mahihiram na grocery items at ito ay babayaran nila sa loob ng isang buwan. Ang kanilang savings ay tinatawag na credit limit. Sa bawat pag kuha ng grocery items nagkakaroon sila ng 6% na nilalagay sa kanilang savings saloob ng isang taon. Hindi hinihikayat na bawasan ang kanilang savings bagkos ito ay mapalaki pa. Maaari rin ang maliliit na tindahan ay mapalago nila sa pagsali sa SMP, at ang grocery items ay makukuha nila sa murang halaga. Sa pamamahala ni Cardinal Rosales at iba pang mga kaparian ng Caritas Manila ay patuloy na nag-iisip ng mga proyekto para sa ikasusulong ng mga mahihirap na mamayan at isa rito ang SMP upang matugunan ang kahirapan ng karamihan. Sa lahat ng gustong magpa miembro ang programa ay tuloy-tuloy at maaari lamang pumunta tuwing Biernes ika-10 ng umaga sa parish center ground floor hanapin ang Caritas Salve, B.E.C. o sa Clinic.

After so many years, a dream for our Parish has just come true. Msgr. Mario D. Enriquez, our Parish Priest, was determined to make the Carillon Bells part of San Felipe Neri Parish Church. To give an insight, the Carillon Bells is popularly known in most cathedrals and churches in Europe, these are a set of stationary bells, each producing one tone of the chromatic scale, sounded by means of a keyboard or by a clockwork mechanism. When played, one could feel the magnificence of its melody. The Carillon Bells which are manufactured in Holland (presently the Netherlands), is set to be installed and to blessed by His Excellency, Francisco De Leon, DD the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Antipolo, last 26th of May, 2012, in line with the Parish Fiesta in honor of our Patron Saint San Felipe Neri. The dream became a reality through the kindheartedness of Ambassador Antonio Cabangon-Chua. This grand and perfect gift will be the center of the Parish celebration as the entire commu-nity of San Felipe Neri anticipates the commemoration of the 150th Founding Anniversary of the Parish next year.

“Carillon Bells”

The portrait of Blessed Pedro Calungsod that was used during his beatification in 2000 was based on the interpretation of the artist and not on actual person. This according to Msgr. Ildebrando Leyson, a lead advocate for Calungsod’s sainthood, who said the image of Pedro Calungsod used as official portrait during his beatification in 2000 at the Vatican will be the same portrait that will be used at his canonization. “We will still use the same portrait that was used during his beatification. We will not change the image,” Leyson said during a weekly forum in Intramuros on Tuesday. When asked about if the image was drawn from a real person, Leyson explained that the painter Rafael del Casal? said that he painted the image out of his own inspiration.

“When we asked del Casal about this, he reiterated that the painting was the product of his own inspiration and not based on the face of professional Filipino basketball player Ronald Tubin. So we told him to declare that to the public through a letter so that they will know,” Leyson added. Leyson suggested to media reporters to personally interview del Casal because since the year he painted the image, nobody from the media interviewed the painter to clarify the speculation on the image of Blessed Pedro Calungsod. Calungsod was beatified in 2000 by the late Pope Blessed John Paul II. He will be canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 21, 2012. He will be the 2nd Filipino to be declared saint following San Lorenzo Ruiz in 1987.

In 2001, the Holy See released a new set of guidelines for the translation of liturgical books which requires a word-for-word translation that is closer to the original Latin in content and syntax. In 2002, the Holy See promulgated the 3rd typical edition of the Roman Missal. In 2010, the Pope approved the new English translation produced by the International Committee on English in the liturgy and the Holy See’s Vox Clara Commission. This new translation replaces the second edition in use since 1978. In July 2011, the CBCP voted to imple-ment this new translation for the whole Philippines on the First Sunday of Advent of 2012 which falls on 2 December 2011 by which time, Masses celebrated in English will have to use the new translation.

Christian Commitment in the Eucharist

The Eucharist (also called the Mass) is the memorial of the Lord’s paschal mystery his passion, death, and resurrection, through which he redeemed, saved, restored and sanctified humankind. This memorial of the Lord’s sacrifice is celebrated by the community of the baptized, the Church, in the form of a ritual meal. In the Mass, Christ comes to us in the sacrament of his body and blood, in the ritual proclamation of God’s Word, in the ministry of priests, and in our gathering as a worshipping assembly. Catholics, by virtue of their Christian baptism, have the right and duty to take part in the Eucharist. Sunday is the Lord’s Day, the day of the Eucharist, and the day of the Church. We should always participate actively and worthily in the Sunday Eucha-rist with proper disposition. We should come to Church on time and be present from the entrance rite until dismissal. We should be in our Sunday best. The Eucharist ought to strengthen individuals in their Christian commitment, in living their baptismal dignity and mission, and in their participation in the life and mission of Christ and His Church.

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Tagle will receive the pallium, which typifies their participation in the supreme pastoral power of the pope. The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI will confer the pallium, a wide circular band worn over the vestiments, on him and other metropolitan archbishops from all over the world appointed during the course of the last year in a concel-ebrated Mass on June 29, 2012, the Solem-nity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles, at the St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Other Filipino archbishops receiving the pallium in the same ceremony are Palo Archbishop John F. Du, Capiz Archbishop Jose F. Advin-cula and Davao Archbishop Romulo G. Valles. Only the Pope and Archbishops use the pallium. The Pope uses the pallium to symbolize the plenitudo pontificalis officii (i.e. the plenitude of pontifical office). For the archbishops, it signifies the power conceded to them by the Pope for their proper church provinces. It is thus given to metropolitan archbishops. A metropolitan is an archbishop who presides over an ecclesiastical province within which there are a number of suffragan dioceses. The Ecclesiastical Province of Manila consists of the Dioceses of Antipolo, Cubao, Kalookan, Imus, Malolos, Novaliches, Parañaque, Pasig, and San Pablo; the apostolic vicari-ates of Puerto Princesa and Taytay, and the Military Ordinariate.

The Catholic encyclopedia gives this description of the pallium.

“The modern pallium is a circular band about two inches wide, worn about the neck, breast, and shoulders, and having two pendants, one hanging down in front and one behind. The pendants are about two inches wide and twelve inches long, and are weighted with small pieces of lead covered with black silk. The remainder of the pallium is made of white wool, part of which is supplied by two lambs presented annually as a tax by the Lateran Canons Regular to the Chapter of St. John on the feast of St. Agnes, solemnly blessed on the high altar of that church after the pontifical Mass, and then offered to the pope. The

ornamentation of the pallium consists of six small black crosses — one each on the breast and back, one on each shoulder, and one on each pendant. The crosses on the breast, back, and left shoulder are provided with a loop for the reception of a gold pin set with a precious stone. The pallium is worn over the chasuble.“The new palliums are solemnly blessed after the Second Vespers on the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, and are then kept in a special silver-gilt casket near the Confessio Petri until required.”

Inilagak ang Krus ng Sierra Madre sa Parokya ng San Felipe Neri bilang bahagi ng kampanya sa malinis na kalikasan at pagtuligsa sa patuloy ng pagkasira sa kapaligi-ran. Ito ay naganap noong Hulyo 10, 2012 sa pangunguna ng Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila at Save Sierra Madre Network. Ang gawaing ito ay pina-munuan ni Gng. Lou V. Arsenio, Coordinator Ministry on Ecology ng RCAM sa pakikiisa at pakikipag-tulungan ng mga Simbahan mula sa Hilaga hanggang Katimugang Luzon. Bago dalhin sa Parokya, inilagak muna ito sa National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe na pinamumunuan ni Rev. Msgr. Salvador R. Jose. Sa atin namang parokya mainit itong sinalubong ng mga estudyante ng San Felipe Neri Parochial School, Parish Pastoral Council, Basic Ecclesial Community at iba’t ibang organ-isasyon. Pinangunahan naman ni Rev. Fr. Gerard Reyes ang maringal na ritwal ng pagtanggap sa krus, ay iprinusisyon patungo sa Sanktu-waryo sa pag-alalay ng mga sakristan at Extra Ordinary Minis-ters of Holy Communion sa saliw ng pangkalikasang awitin. Ipinag-patuloy ito sa pamamagitan ng pagpapahayg ng Salita ng Diyos at panalangin para sa kalikasan at sangkatauhan. Sinimulan ang pagtatanod o vigil na kinabibilangan ng mga Simbahang sakop ng Bikaryato ng

San Felipe Neri. Pansamatala namang itinigil ang pagtatanod upang bigyang daan ang misa sa ika-anim at ika-pito ng gabi at sinimulang muli ang pagtatanod ng ika-8 hanggang ika-9 ng gabi. Muli itong sinimulan sa ganap na ika-sampu ng umaga at nagpa-patuloy hanggang alas-dos ng hapon. Inihatid sa EDSA Shrine ang Krus ng Siera Madre kasama ang mga taga San Felipe at iba pang miembro ng kanyang Bikaryato.

Ipinagdiwang ang Kapistahan ng Kamahal-mahalang Puso ni Hesus noong Hunyo 15, 2012 na pinangunahan ng mga miyembro ng Apostolado ng Panalangin. Ang tema ng kapistahan sa taong ito ay “The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Beatitudes”. Nagka-roon ng Nobena at Misa mula ika-6 hanggang ika-14 ng Hunyo tuwing

ika-6:00 ng gabi. Kabilang sa mga paring nagmisa sa Nobena ay sina Fr. Nador Jesulga, Fr. Alex Abiera, Fr. Francis Lucas, Fr. Edric Bedural, Fr. Jason Laguerta, at Fr. Patrick Calim-lim. Nagkaroon ng misa at prusi-syon sa araw ng kapistahan at ito’y pinamumuan ng Ating kura paroko Msgr. Mario D. Enriquez.
