#Natural Capital: the world's stock of natural resources, which includes geology, soils, air, water and all living organisms. Some natural capital assets provide people with free goods and services, often called ecosystem services. Two of these (clean water and fertile soil) underpin our economy and society and make human life possible

#Satoyama Initiative: a global initiative with the purpose of realizing "societies in harmony with nature" through the conservation and advancement of "socio-ecological production landscapes " around the world

#Rural tourism: focuses on actively participating in a rural lifestyle. It can be a variant of ecotourism. Many rural villages can facilitate tourism because many villagers are hospitable and eager to welcome (and sometime even host) visitors

#Terroir: the set of all environmental factors that affect a crop's phenotype, including unique environment contexts, farming practices and a crop's specific growth habitat

#Geographical Indications (GI) : a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin. Since the qualities depend on the geographical place of production, there is a clear link between the product and its original place of production

#GIAHS: Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems; outstanding landscapes of aesthetic beauty that combining agricultural biodiversity, resilient ecosystems and a valuable cultural heritage

Concepts and Movements that implies other benefits than food production in rural areas;

#Multifunctionality: the numerous benefits that agricultural policies may provide for a country or region. Generally speaking, multifunctionality refers to the non-trade benefits of agriculture

#Agricultural externalities: Most production systems, agriculture included, can cause both positive and negative side-effects, or externalities that are not accounted for in markets. Agriculture’s positive and negative environmental services are unintended consequences of market activities that have an impact on people other than the producer of the effect. These by-products tend not to be priced in the market and, hence, their economic values are unknown or difficult to assess

#Ecosystem Services: the many and varied benefits that humans freely gain from the natural environment and from properly-functioning ecosystems

#Local production for local consumption: the most simple market linkage pattern in which products produced by local people are sold in local markets

#Welfare Farm: for health improvement and the development of life motivation for elderly people and self-reliance support for people with disabilities

4. Develop brief summaries of information technology modules and disseminate this using the Center’s website

3. Encourage the gathering of feedback from agri extension workers who work with farmers and other members of the food chain;

4. Collect practical technologies on smart farming for dissemination

4. Disseminate early warning systems of climate disasters and smart ways to plan agricultural production and marketing amidst unpredictable climate

FFTC plans to:

1. Design workshops, seminars and training on farming activities that would involve energy, efficiency, recycling, safety, and health concerns, renewable resources, water and air purification, solid waste management, etc;

2. Facilitate and encourage the sharing of experiences on the best practices of adapting green technologies and their corresponding benefits;

3. Utilize the internet and social media in the promotion of green technologies; and

4. Continue the past theme of “promoting food safety with green technology” to focus on safe farm practices, proper use of manure, IPM, organic farming, traceability, harmonizing procedures, etc.

Program theme 5: Rural resources management

• Basically covers the management of farmlands, irrigation, environment, organic resources, and the rural community

• Its issues relate to the decrease in the size of farmlands, lack of water, aging farmers, decrease in the number of young farmers and agricultural trade

• Also includes tourism and recreation activities

Program theme 5: Rural resources management

FFTC plans to:1. Gather experts in rural resources management and ask for their support

in designing seminars and workshops along the lines of rural revitalization, agri-tourism and recreation;

2. Follow-up on FFTC’s workshops on engaging and capacitating the youth in agricultural activities and agri-entrepreneurship and design training programs related to youth participation and agriculture;

3. Collect pertinent information on resource management and help translate technical knowledge into practical and more popular forms before they are uploaded in social media and the Center’s website; and

4. Involve the national agricultural research and extension people, technicians and rural development workers in FFTC’s activities.

- As an agricultural information center, FFTC collects agricultural information, technologies and policies.

- To collect those information, FFTC has provideda unique platform system which consists of real (for more than 48 years) and virtual one (for over 6 years).

-Several workshops and seminars organized by FFTC with NARS every year are recognized as real (practical world) platform, on the other hand, FFTC managed websites, such as FFTC-AP net are recognized virtual (cyber space) platform.
