Our Lodge is entering a float in the Parade
and we need your help. A sign-up sheet will
be posted in the Lodge along with dates,
times, and place we will be putting together
our float. This is a fun event and we look
forward to you sharing your ideas and
constructing the float. The Parade is Sunday,
March 19th.

CONGRATULATIONS Mitchell Dwan!
Mitchell received a scholarship from the R. Robert Dale Scholarship program. In his thank
you note to us Mitchell says, “Your generous contribution is greatly appreciated and will assist
me in achieving my educational goals. One day I hope to join the Moose Fraternity with the
ability to provide this opportunity to other youth in our community.” Mitchell is the grandson
of our member Carol Dwan.

Hello all fellow Moose members. I would like to start out and wish everyone a Happy New Year. With that being said let’s talk numbers for our Lodge (men) – currently we have the following: current active members 492 – members expired 52 – members dropped 43 – and 26 new members. Our Board of Officers would encourage everyone to please help renew these people. If you know someone that is expired encourage them to renew their membership and keep signing up new members. The election of officers is coming soon. March 8. 2017 is the due date to nominate an officer. May 1 is the first day as a new officer. We are looking for people interested to help build the St Pats float for the Lodge. After the parade we will have a party at the Lodge as always. We will be having meetings in the future for the following: Moose Crawl Bus Trip, The Blessing of the Bikes, and the Music Fest. As always please watch our Facebook page for the most up to date information that is going on in our Lodge. The Lodge is getting a new juke box. This is the latest and greatest juke box. It will play any song out there. If you type in a song and artist the internet will find it and play it. We are also getting with the new juke box, new speakers to play music for our outdoor events. Lent season is coming soon. We will be open to the public for this time period. So spread the word. We want to introduce new people and future new members to our great Lodge. NEWSLETTER CHANGE In order to save money, the men will be sending the newsletter by email. We do have some email addresses and will be using the ones we have. Please send us your email address so you can be put on the list ([email protected]).
If you would like to receive a hard copy of the monthly newsletter please let us know by mail, e-mail, or by speaking to a board member. Hard copies are also available at the Lodge.
This will take effective January 1, 2017.

Well, here is February already which is a short month and March coming. Just think….Baseball Season is coming….Go Tigers!
Election of a new board: The year is coming to a close. Election of officers will be taking place soon. I am asking everybody to think about the new board of officers and elect the best board we can have. If you would like to run – just fill out an application and put it in the Suggestion Box. Membership: We still have a ways to go to fill our quota but it can be done. As of now we are leading our District in signing up new members but we need all of you to think about asking your friends to become a member of our great fraternal organization. My goal this year is to reach 500 members. Right now we have 492. If you know some of these men that have let their membership lapse, ask them why they are dropping their membership and maybe we can fix the problem. Fraternally, Marlin

Welcome new members of the Women of the Moose… Shirley Kelly, Katherine Dwan, Marlyn Baney, Phyllis Hartman, Cindy Garigen, Susan Gentle, Stacey Meininger, Stephanie Robertson, and Kimberly Henning. The Christmas Lottery Tree income was $933.68 – expenses were $672.94 with a balance of $265.74. The men and women voted to purchase a much needed crock pot for our Lodge kitchen, and the balance will be spent on the Winter Fest. Jim Patterson had the lucky winning ticket…..Congratulation Jim and thank you to all who contributed.
