The 470 m (5,059 ft ) pavilion is a rectangular platform covered by a translucent

polycarbonate sheet supported by a triangular wooden grid. During the event, the

pavilion is hosting large audiences (maximum of 500), who come for lectures, film

series, exhibitions, as well as coffee breaks.

Within the pavilion there are two triangular enclosures used as a cafe and a

presentation space.

The floor of the pavilion is made of sawn timber structure, finished with pine glulam

planks.

The roof is supported by 8 tree-like columns. The columns are made of six box-

sections with a lattice core of structural timber and 18 mm (0.31 in) birch-faced

plywood glued on either side. Each radiates its branches outward to support the

The beams are similarly built with a core of structural timber finished with birch-faced

plywood.

Triangular benches, built around the bases of existing trees, are constructed by

stacking UPM ProFi, a proprietary recycled wood / plastic composite.
