FAREWELL Twenty five years is a long time by any measure. A silver jubilee! Back in 1992, Whitney Houston had the #1 hit “I Will Always Love you”, ‘Basic Instinct’ rocked the theaters, Johnny Carson hosted his last show, Hurricane Andrew ravaged south Florida and some of our teammates were starting grade school. And I walked into Morton Plant Hospital, a brand new and very nervous CRNA and poured the wrong inhalation agent into the vaporizer! Fast forward to the present and I’m now at the end of my journey here. I have been lucky to have worked with so many amazing people. You made me laugh until I cried, supported me when I needed a lift, inspired me, challenged me, taught me and encouraged me. I am grateful that we met! As your Chief for the past 9 years, I want to thank all the CRNAs, AAs, the MDAs, the office and corporate members, and the MPH team. Because you all do your jobs so well, I could do mine. This experience has enriched my life- I am a better person for it. I wish all of you success, happiness and joy in life. And though we part ways, I hope that we keep in touch. It is never easy to say good-bye. I leave you with one of my favorite quotes.
