Liturgical Reflection: August 27th

Following the blessing and giving of rings, a hymn or canticle

of praise may be sung by the whole community. The

Celebration of Matrimony concludes with the Universal

Prayer. The ritual offers two options. In the absence of the

deacon, the couple may choose someone to pray these

intercessions. Also, the couple may create their own

intercessions along with the suggested petitions in the rite.

Perhaps there are family members or friends who are sick or

in the military, or any need that invites prayer could be added

to the Universal Prayer. The priest gives the invitation to

prayer and prays the closing to the General Intercessions.

Stewardship Reflection -21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

Christian stewards come to see everything in their midst

as awesome gifts. May you use these gifts “through

Him and for Him” to build up the kingdom of God on

earth.

Gifts from the Holy Land – Christian families have

worked over 2,000 years to protect the Holy sites in

Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and to spread the word

of Jesus. For about the last 1,000 years they used

carvings to keep the Bible alive in dimensions. By your

support 200 families will be helped to remain in the

Holy Land. These gifts will be available this weekend

August 26th

and 27th

before and after all masses.

SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMITTEE will meet tomorrow,

Monday, August 28, 6:30-8:30PM, in the Gathering

Space. Any interested parishioner is welcome to attend.

Primary agenda includes September through November

parish occasions and activities.

FALL SCHEDULES FOR LECTORS AND

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS are now available in the

Gathering Space. Updated contact information is

included. Please pick yours up today and read through

its reminders and check your assignments carefully.

CATHOLIC DAUGHER MEETINGS will resume next

Wednesday, September 6, 6PM, with the annual

covered dish supper. All interested women of the parish

are invited to “come and see!” what this prayerful,

friendly, community-oriented, charitable and social

organization is all about.

Also, your annual directory, calendar, standing rules,

membership guide, and dues statements are available in

the Gathering Space.

The GLORY AND PRAISE CHOIR will resume its

monthly rehearsals and twice-monthly sung Masses in two

weeks. Rehearsal will be held next Thursday, September 7:

6:30 for Guitarists, 7:00 for Vocalists. Sung Masses will be
