Provided that, other things being equal, preference shall be given to persons whohold B.A. degree in Indian Culture and Religious Institutions Management and tothose who hold a Diploma in Epigraphy and Archaeology awarded by the Institute ofEpigraphy in Tamil Nadu.

Note:-

(i) The qualification prescribed for this post should have been obtained by passing the requiredqualification in the order of studies 10th + HSC or its equivalent + U.G. degree.

(ii) Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should uploadand submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of G.O. issued prior to thedate of this notification when called for. The G.Os issued regarding equivalence ofqualification after the date of this notification will not be accepted.

(iii) According to G.O.Ms.No.318, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (R) Department, dated29.12.1997 the applicants who possess the Professional degree or any degree are eligible tothis recruitment. 6. GENERAL INFORMATION:-

A. The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to this post within the communitiesprofessing ‘HINDU RELIGION’. The distribution of vacancies will be as per rule in force.

B. In G.O.Ms.No.145, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Department, dated 30.09.2010 andG.O.Ms.No.40, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Department, dated 30.04.2014 theGovernment have issued Orders to fill up 20% of all vacancies in direct recruitment onpreferential basis to persons who studied the prescribed qualification in Tamil Medium. The 20%reservation of vacancies on preferential allotment to Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM)will apply for this recruitment and will be applicable to the applicants who have acquired theprescribed qualification in Tamil Medium. (Applicants claiming PSTM preference must producecertificate issued by Head of the Institution as proof as per the specimen contained in the“Instructions to Applicants” for having studied the prescribed qualification in Tamil Medium.Having written the examination in Tamil language alone will not qualify for claiming thispreference). If the applicants with PSTM certificate are not available for selection for appointmentagainst reserved turn such turn shall be filled up by other eligible applicants but belonging to therespective communal category. The PSTM certificate, in prescribed format / proforma available in

the Commission’s website at ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in’ shall be obtained from the Head of the Institutionand shall be produced / uploaded when called for. (For further details refer ‘Instructions toApplicants’).

C. The number of vacancies advertised in this post is only approximate and is liable tomodification with reference to vacancy position at any time including reduction beforefinalization of selection.

D. The selection for appointment to the above said post is purely provisional subject to finalOrders on pending Writ Petitions, if any, filed at Madras High Court and Madurai Bench ofMadras High Court.

E. Reservation of appointment to Destitute Widows and Ex-Servicemen will apply to thisrecruitment.

F. Among the three categories of Differently Abled persons, Deaf and OrthopaedicallyChallenged persons alone are eligible for the 3% reservation of vacancies intended for DApersons, for this post. The Differently Abled persons should upload a copy of certificate ofphysical fitness (refer para 14(b) of ‘Instructions to Applicants’) specifying the nature ofphysical handicap and the degree of disability based on the norms laid down, from theMedical Board to the effect that his/her handicap will not render him/her incapable ofefficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he/she has been selectedwhen called for by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

G. If no qualified and suitable women applicants are available for selection against thevacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male applicants belonging tothe respective communal categories.

H. Even after filling up of the vacancies reserved for SC Arunthathiyars on preferential basis, ifmore number of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, they shall be entitled to compete withthe Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in the inter-se merit among them and if anyposts reserved for Arunthathiyars remain unfilled for want of adequate number of qualifiedapplicants, it shall be filled up by Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars.

I. If no qualified and suitable Ex-Servicemen applicants belonging to a particular category areavailable for selection against the vacancies reserved for them, those vacancies shall befilled by other than the Ex-Servicemen applicant belonging to the respective Communalcategory.

J. Evidence for claims made in the online application should be uploaded / submitted in timewhen called for the documents. Any subsequent claim made thereafter on submission ofonline application will not be entertained.

K. Correct and True information regarding arrest, convictions / debarment / disqualification byany recruiting agency, criminal or any disciplinary proceedings initiated / pending or finalized,participation in agitation or any Political Organization, candidature in election forParliament/State Legislature/Local Bodies etc., if any, should also be furnished to theCommission at the time of application i.e., the details thereof, originals of the Judgement,order / or G.O dropping further action in Departmental proceedings or any document thatmay prove the suitability of such applicants for a Government appointment in such casesmust be produced at the stage / time of Certificate Verification without fail.

L. Incomplete applications and applications containing wrong claims or incorrectparticulars relating to category of reservation / other basic qualification / eligibilitywise / age / communal categories / educational qualification / physical qualificationand other basic eligibility criteria will be liable for rejection.

M. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will not be responsible for any consequencesarising out of furnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in the application oromission to provide the required details in the application forms.

N. Applicants selected for appointment to this post should be prepared to serve compulsorily inHill Stations in Tamil Nadu. If they refuse or resort to dilatory tactics to serve in Hill Stationsthey will lose their appointments. The applicants should furnish a declaration in the formatgiven below at the time of certificate verification.

“If selected I assure that I will not refuse or delay to serve in Hill Stations. I amaware that I will lose my appointment if I refuse or delay to serve inHill Stations”.

7. SCHEME OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION (OBJECTIVE TYPE) (OMR METHOD) ANDORAL TEST:-

Note :

1. i. Applicants are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English foranswering the language part in Paper-I.

ii. The questions on General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil and thequestions on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respectivelanguages.

iii. The questions on Hindu Religion and Saivism and Vaishnavism inrespect of paper-II (i.e. 1.,e;Jkjk; 2/ irtKk; itztKk; ) will be set in Tamil only.

8. PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:-Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii)

Oral Test in the form of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the totalmarks obtained by the applicants at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken togethersubject to the rule of reservation of appointments through Counselling. Appearance in both thepapers of the Written Examination and Oral Test is compulsory. An applicant who has notappeared in any one of the papers in Written Examination or the Oral Test will not beconsidered for selection, even if he secures qualifying marks in the Written Examination or OralTest.

9. CENTRES FOR EXAMINATION:-

The Written Examination will be held at the following centres:

(i) Applicants should choose any one of the above centres for writing the examination.(ii) Request for change of centre will not be considered. (For further details refer

10. MODE OF PAYMENT OF EXAMINATION FEE:-

Examination fee Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) is payable by online throughNet Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card or it can be paid at State Bank of India /at Indian Bank within 2 days on submission of application.

Applicants have to register their basic particulars through One -Time Registration whichis mandatory on payment of Rs.50/- towards registration fee. The registration shall bevalid for a period of five years from the date of One-Time Registration.

Applicants have also to pay the service charges applicable to the State Bank of India /Indian Bank.

Applicants can avail exemption from paying examination fees as per eligibility criteria.

Offline mode of payment in the form of Demand Draft / Postal Order etc., will notbe accepted and the applications forwarded with such modes of payment will besummarily rejected.

Those who have registered in the One -Time Registration system, and paid the registration feeof Rs.50/- and received the registration ID need not pay the Registration fee, Rs.50/-again andit is enough to pay the examination fee alone.

Applicants who have made One-Time Registration must apply for this notified post.One – Time Registration is only to avail exemption for Registration fee for a period of5 years from the date of registration.

11. SECURITY:

In regard to the security to be furnished by the Executive Officer, Grade –III the rulesframed under Section 116(2) (xvi) of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and CharitableEndowments Act, 1959 (Tamil Nadu Act 22 of 1959) shall apply.

12. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE AND INFORMATION TO THE EMPLOYER:

For details refer para 15 (g) of Commission’s ‘Instructions to Applicants’. Any violation of thisinstruction will be liable for / end in rejection of application and forfeit his/her candidature.(Para 15(g) of the ‘Instructions to Applicants’ shall be read as NOC and information to theemployer)

13. CONCESSIONS:-

i. Concessions in the matter of age and/or fees allowed to SCs, SC(A)s, STs,MBCs/DCs, BCs(Other than Muslims), Destitute Widows, Differently Abled Persons,Ex-servicemen, other categories of persons etc., are given in para 12 to 14 of the'Instructions to Applicants'.

ii. Persons claiming concessions referred to above has to produce evidence for suchclaim when called for, otherwise his/her application will be liable for rejection.

Note:

In all cases, an Ex-serviceman once recruited to a post in any class or service orcategory, cannot claim the concession of being called an Ex-serviceman for his furtherrecruitment.

14. HOW TO APPLY:-

All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the applicant,post applied for, educational qualifications, communal category, date of birth, address,application and examination fee details, email ID, centre of examination etc. will beconsidered as final. However, applicants can modify certain fields till the last date specifiedfor applying online. Certain fields are fixed and cannot be edited even before theclosing date. Applicants are hence requested to fill in the online application form withutmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained after lastdate for applying.

15. OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:-

a. Applicants should ensure their eligibility for examination: The applicants applyingfor the examination should go through all instructions carefully and ensure that they fulfilall eligibility conditions for admission to examination. Their admission to all stages ofthe examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying of the eligibilityconditions. Mere issue of memo of admission to the applicant will not imply that his/hercandidature has been fully cleared by the Commission.

b. The Hall Tickets for eligible applicants will be made available in the Commission’sWebsite www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.net or www.tnpscexams.in fordownloading by Applicants. No Hall Tickets will be sent by post. So the applicantsshould watch TNPSC website before the scheduled date of examination. TheApplicants must comply with each and every instruction given in the Hall Ticket.

c. Grievance Redressal Cell for guidance of Applicants:- In case of any guidance/information / clarification of their applications, candidature, etc., Applicants can contactTamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s Office in person or over Telephone No.044-25332833 / 25332855 or the Commission’s Office Toll-Free No. 1800 425 1002 on allworking days between 10.00 a.m. and 05.45 p.m.

d. Mobile Phones and other Articles Banned:

i. Applicants are not allowed to bring Cellular Phone, Watches and Ring with InbuiltMemory Notes etc., or any other Electronic device and Non Electronic devices suchas P&G Design Data Book, Books, Notes, Hand Bags to the examination hall / roomon the date of examination.

ii. If they are found to be in possession of any such thing or instrument they will not beallowed to write the examination further, besides invalidation of answer paper and / ordebarment. If it is considered necessary they will be subjected to thorough physicalsearch including frisking on the spot. (For further details refer Instructions toApplicants).

iii. Do not bring into the Examination Hall any article such as books, notes, loose sheets,electronic or any other type of calculators, mathematical and drawing instruments,Log Tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, Text Books, rough sheets etc., except thepermitted writing material (i.e. pen).No colour pen or Pencil must be used.

iv. Applicants are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned itemsincluding Mobile Phones to the venue of the examination, as arrangements forsafekeeping cannot be assured.

e. Applicants are not required to submit along with their application any certificates insupport of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, physical qualification,community certificates and certificates regarding their physical disability etc., whichshould be submitted when called for by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.The Applicants applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all theeligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stagesof examination for which they are admitted by the Commission viz. PreliminaryExamination, Main Written Examination and Oral Test will be purely provisional,subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at anytime before or after Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination, CertificateVerification and Oral Test, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibilityconditions, their candidature for the recruitment will be liable for rejection / cancellationby the Commission. f. If any of their claims is found to be incorrect, it will lead to rejection / debarment.

g. Unfair means strictly prohibited: No applicant shall copy from the papers of any otherapplicant or permit his papers to be copied or give or attempt to give or obtain or attemptto obtain irregular assistance of any description. (For further details refer ‘Instructions toApplicants’

h. Conduct in Examination Hall: No applicant should misbehave in any manner or createa disorderly scene in the Examination Hall or harass the staff employed by theCommission for the conduct of the examination. Any such misconduct will be severelyviewed and penalised. (For further details refer ‘Instructions to Applicants’).

i. For violations of ‘Instruction to Applicants’ in any manner suitable penalty will be imposedas per the ‘Instructions to applicants’ or as deem fit by the Commission.
