SPECIAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT 2015 TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF BOSSE FIELD.For more info, call (812) 435-8686 or visit the Bosse Field webpage at EvansvilleOtters.com/bosse/info

On June 17, 1915, Mayor Benjamin Bosse declared a half day holiday for the afternoon to dedicate the newest baseball stadium in the state. As a way to instill civic pride, Bosse led the eff ort to build the stadium. On that day, he hosted the dignitaries who traveled from neighboring states to attend the gala event. A parade from the riverfront marched into Garvin Park and through the gates of Bosse Field where a crowd of more than 8,000 fans awaited the fi rst pitch. The cost to build the stadium was $65,000; the cost of tickets on Opening Day was 75¢ for box seats and 25¢ for bleachers.

Today, Bosse Field continues to be a popular hub for families and sports. As home to the Evansville Otters (see Page 10), Bosse Field continues as a professional ball park.

Come celebrate this milestone birthday with this grand old park during the summer of 2015!

To honor our homegrown baseball legend, the address of Bosse Field is now 23 Don Mattingly Way.

Each year, the Reitz Home celebrates the holidays by putting on her finest decorations as provided by local designers. The home literally sparkles from room to room. Special evening candlelight tours are offered.

RITZY’S FANTASY OF LIGHTS November through December
