Mood Board For Female & Male Target Audience

This is the mood board for what interest the girls. It shows a variety of things that

the girls maybe interested in however they are also people who we assume

would be interested in the film that we have created.

This is the mood board for boys, it shows what they are interested in as male, moreover they are the

male target audience for our thriller film, it shows that the age group for

the children is around 16 and above.

Taken is a similar Film to ours…

• Taken is a similar film to the one we have created this is because the concept between ‘Taken’ and ‘last phone call’ is very similar, a thriller which leaves allot of suspense. Both films create tension

for the audience, leaving them to wonder what is going to happen next.

Negatives/Improvements from PeersSome of the negative comments we got from our peers is:

•The camera was shaking a bit.

•Some people said that the sound track was not ideal for the opening however others gave it as a positive thing for the opening.

•Poor use of lightening. This was done to create a dull effect to the audience as this is a thriller opening, also to show that everything is not going to be all happy throughout the movie.

•Point of shot unsteady.

•Some people also though that it was an unclear plot however this was clearly done to create a suspense for the audience.

•We also got feed back that the start was to fast.

How we attract the target audience

• We have used different techniques to attract our audience.

• Some of the ways we have attracted our audience is through the different types of shot we used and the soundtrack which built on suspense throughout the whole opening.

• Another way we attracted out audience is by leaving the ending of the thriller as a suspense and not showing any further.

What makes the film different and why this may appeal audience?

The film is different to other films, because we have used several different camera shots, attracted the audience by created lots of suspense making the audience want to watch on. Moreover we also made the film different by added twists in placed least expected, for example when the character (Jennifer) got a phone call from a modelling agency then randomly she hears a male voice coming through the phone saying ‘Im coming for you *Laughs*’ creates a suspense to the audience as well as leaving them to think who this guy is, which shows that we have thought of enigma codes.

Why the characters attract the audience

The reason the characters attract the audience is because they create a feel of what the film is about, they help build the suspense.

Moreover we used to character in the opening and another characters voice, we only showed two characters on screen to show the vulnerability of the female character to show that she is alone in danger. This attracted the audience to feel sorry for this character and to make them think further of what is going to happen to the character.

This is Jennifer the main character of the film, who is in danger from all the phone calls and also from this guy who is standing in her house at the end of the opening.

We also attracted the audience via the characters, by showing different angles of the character and portraying how the character feels to show the audience exactly how the character is feeling.

Types of Shots used & why they attract the Audience

•Shot reverse shot- to show both point of views of the characters.

•Match on action shot- used to show what the character is looking at and what she is feeling.

•Panning shot- to show that the character is looking around, and to make the audience feel as if they are within the scene, this shot was used when the character was looking outside the house to see if anybody was there.

•We used an Ariel shot of the character when she closes the door, we used this to attract the audience because this shows that there is something about to go wrong.

•we used a point of view shot, whilst the character was looking at her phone this was to allow the audience to see exactly what the character is seeing, also this attracted the audience because they felt as if they knew exactly what was happening, until it led to the twist on the opening.
