CULTURAL TIPS
India is a very tourist friendly country however please take care of the following:
Stay safe
While “don’t go down dark streets alone” might seem a bit obvious, there are
plenty of straightforward ways to avoid subtle dangers in India. Carrying huge
quantities of cash isn’t a good idea anywhere, but in crowded Indian cities pick-
pocketing is a very present problem.
Always keep your hotel contact number and details with you along with a route
plan. Carrying a phone is essential for both safety and convenience, preferably
with a local number.
Dress Conservatively
Be aware that India has a relatively modest culture, so we request you avoid
short / skimpy clothes, especially in the evenings.
18
Food Safety
Only eat freshly cooked food or food from good restaurants. Always use mineral
bottled water for drinking.
SECURITY
Avoid crowded places and use only app based taxis or hotel taxis to avoid any
unforeseen circumstances. Avoid travelling alone.
EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBERS
Police – 100
Ambulance – 101
Fire – 102
Women Police Helpline – 1091
