Jongerius Restorations
Jongerius Restorations (Antique Clocks)
The first watches were made over 500 years ago in the workshops of blacksmiths. Later came the specialized workshops.
The watchmakers worked with the resources and the circumstances of that time.
When the clock maker from now try to work within this and he or she can combine with science, documentation and tools of the modern time then we have the basis for a high quality restoration.
Our workshop is equipped for repair and restoration of mechanical properties, especially antique clocks and barometers.

Damen Restorations
Damen Restauratie is your warranty for craftmanship concerning the restauration and conservation of paintings and sculptures, since 1965.
Conservation concerns about all treatments to avoid degradation, but to maintain and protect the art object.
Restauration is about all processes to return the art piece to the initial concept of the artist. For this we will define the causes of damage in the best possible way; for ex: water damage, a rip caused by a trap, a fissure by degradation of the canvas, moldiness, woodworm, loosing of the ground, dirt and dust, older restaurations, old varnishes, nicotine, ...
The most important actions are: removing old varnishes and dirt, strengthen the cloth, removing old restaurations, fixing pictural layer, treating woodworm, ... We always respect the rules of reversibility for all we add.
Like this hundreds of art pieces have passed our hands .

Maria Nelissen
Maria Nelissen's art is versatile and multifaceted: bronze statues, portraits and whole human figures, aquarelles, model-drawings, collages, paste-ups and acryl-painting, which all bear the stamp of her creative personality.
Her bronze sculptures are created in wax in accordance with the lost wax-technique. Slim figures, portraits and bas-relief portraits based on a live model, emphasizing the resemblance of the person.
Forover 15 years Maria Nelissen is creating a drawing-art of looking and feeling, with her skilled hand as a flexible medium a Trinity of the Eye, the Heart and the Hand.
Her Eye is always coloured bij the Heart; she enters into her surroundings, she actually feels what is going on and she experiences it after the fashion.
She is acquainted whit the secret of the Harmony of Colours, that she reproduces transparently and spontaneously.

Filip Firlefijn
Filip Firlefijn was born in 1979, in Wilrijk, Belgium.
He went to school in Herentals, in the province of Antwerp, and went on to study literature at the university of Leuven, graduating in 2005, with a master in English and Dutch literature. He also successfully completed courses in art philosophy, art criticism and the history of film.
At Stuk in Leuven he attended a course in analog photography. At the moment he is photographer, artist and writer. He lives in Interlaken, Switzerland.
As a photographer Filip started out as a street photographer, traveling to cities like Antwerp and Brussels. He also took on landscape, portrait and fashion photography. Artistic developments had begon earlier in his life. Already in his youth he was interested in art. Through self-portraits, nude sketches and oil paintings in his adolescence, to large acrylic portraits of iconic people now.
The scale of the painting sometimes reminds us of the extra large paintings of Chuck Close, the colour and cartoon style added to 176 that, the paintings sometimes seem to refer to Roy Lichtenstein as well. Some of his latest portraits are pretty minimalistic, monochrome magenta on white backgrounds, which adds diversity to his portrait series. The portrait series is based on A4 ballpoint sketches, of which he has made already moret han 200.
As a writer Filip completed a series of poems calles "Sunset Boulevard", a compilation of about 200 poems, in the simple yet intelligent style of Herman de Coninck or Bart Moeyaerts "Verzamel de liefde" . In 2002 he ended as runner-up at his faculty's literary prize in the short story category.
At the moment he is finishing a film script (working title: Minuet), based on a book by Louis Paul Boon. However the story is transfered to Massachussets, USA, just after the second World War, keeping the structure of the story, but altering quite a lot of elements.

Wenju FuThe Day without Apple(2012) By Wenju Fu
There are three famous apples related to the human civilization:
The first one is the apple from Genesis (The Old Testament) which had a connection with the wisdom. The beginning of Bible tells the origin of sky and earth, and the creation of human beings: the God created Adam, and took one rib from Adam to create Eve. The snake lured Adam and Eve to eat the apple; as a result, the human beings had obtained wisdom and morality, but they had to be sent out from the garden of Eden by the God. The second apple is related to the “power” of the God: Isaac Newton was hit on his head by the apple, puzzled out the mysterious power of the God, and discovered the gravity. While the third apple is connected with Apple bitten by Steve Jobs. In the symbolic system, apple represents wisdom and temptation. However, in the final analysis, it symbolizes human’s desire on exploring the unknown. In the work The Day without Apple, the metaphor about “apple” is an important creation clue. The English scientist Desmond Morris has ever raised a question: although the human’s genes are filled with the characteristics that are able to cause its extinction, why human civilization can still develop in such a vigorous way? On the question of origin, Sigmund Freud thinks as “libido”, while Desmond Morris thinks that human’s endless curiosity and exploring desires are exactly what support its development.
Art Antwerp Booth B51, TM-Art Fine Artswebsite: www.fuwenjun.com
In the book The Naked Ape: A Zoologist's Study of the Human Animal, Desmond Morris examine all over again the human “animal” from the view of evolution theory. In his opinion, human beings, compared with other animals, the biggest evolution advantage is his endless exploring desires. Just because of this, human beings walked out from the garden of Eden (to Desmond Morris, the so called “garden of Eden” represents the primitive memory of apes that they walked towards open fields from the forests, changed into hunter from gatherer). Just for the reason of curiosity and exploration, Newton discovered the gravity, turning human beings into the real “force” of gravity from the unknown mysterious “power”. In the 21st century, humanbeings, with the curiosity and exploration towards the un known, promote continuously the development of civilization and society.
In terms of the creation technique, in The Day without Apple I misappropriate visual effect of thermal imaging; based on this, I add painting elements, so finally the image presents a splendid color similar to that of Fauvism and almost abstract. In daily scenes, with the use of another technology, many daily things obtain brand-new forms and meaning. This is the eye of technology, an expansion of human senses and consciousness; driven by curiosity, human together with the technology is walking into a new age. The conceptual photography work The Day without Apple was created at the beginning of 2012; after a few months, Apple CEO Steve Jobs passed away; title of that work is turned out to be a prophecy. When founding Apple, Jobs endeavored to avoid the technology obtaining the “godhood”, separating from human beings and developing in its own way; however paradoxically, when Apple avoids the technology godhood, it has developed into a myth of consumerism.
Dario Ballantini was born in Livorno in 1964. He had his first meetings with paintings and theater, within the walls of his own house. With his father who was a painter in the neo realist style, his uncle a post Macchiaioli artist, his grandfather an actor of an amateur dramaticcompany and his uncle a unsuccessful tenor. And he was struck by the reproductions of Guttuso, and Picasso seen in the volumes of reunited publishers that were distributed by his father. He became very passionate about comic strips (Jacovitti, and Marvel authors), and began trying to realize some of his own. As a teen, he discovered the songs of Luigi Tenco, whose figure became the subject of many portraits, and opened the door to the musical passion of Italian singers/song writers. Among of which that stood out, Guccini and Dalla, who were painted many times in portraits.
After taking a course in hatching, held by professor Giulio Guiggi (1912-1994) He enrolled himself in an experimental secondary school specializing in Art. Where he was a student of Giancarlo Cocchia (1924-1987). He graduated 1984.
In the mean time, his passion for being on stage, and for the figures of Totò, Petrolini and Alighiero Noschese grew after he watched their live Pisa.
At the age of 16, he visited Paris, and the large art exhibition of Amedeo Modigliani (The Museum of Modern Art). These works partly influenced his training. The subjects that he was practicing on, during this period, was the irregular face of Totò, which reminded him of the "Cubist" deconstruction, and the portraits and caricatures of companions, and high school teachers, which he filled his scholastic note books with.
It all began in 1983, with his classmate Stefano Ceselli, in the cabaret forming the duet "Le Cornacchie" that, after a radio broadcast in a local radio station (Radio Flash) and a victory at the Festival Nazionale del Cabaret, it surprisingly lands a TV program "Ciao gente" conducted by Corrado Mantoni on Canale5 (Watch the video!), which proposed young talents. Among others, Dario imitated Enzo Bearzot and Falcao.
In the meantime, he acted in theaters interpreting one of the four "Maschere of Livorno" in a dialect company that brought to the stage scenes from the works of Beppe Orlandi.
Dario Ballantini
Art Antwerp Booth C59website: www.darioballantini.it
However, painting remains an open door, and the participation of the collective "Rotonda Expo" gave him the possibility to meet the president of the Senate at the time Giovanni Spadolini (1925-1994) historically refined, that received a gift of artwork for his private collection.
In 1989, he took an advertisement graphic course held by the professor Leonardo Baglioni. In the same year he exhibited in Florence in the "Teorema" gallery, but his expressive language was not appreciated.
Due to this failure he went through a crisis, and took a reflective pause, which proved to be a productive break.
In fact Dario, worked even harder on the formation of the cabaret, and toured all of Italy, finally arriving in Milan, at the "Derbino cabaret".
The comical duet appeared on "Pronto Raffaella" Rai1 (Watch the video!), "Tandem" Rai 2 and some episodes of "Incrocia la fortuna" on Antenna 3, then falls apart. The two 19 year olds did not have a manager, and Stefano decides to quit.
After finishing High School, Dario meets and socializes with the painter Maurilio Colombini, and the art dealer Cesare Rotini (1945-2008). He was exposed to the Livorno lifestyle, at first with the portraits of Pierpaolo Pasolini neorealist, and subsequently with the expressionist works in collection and personal.
Many of his small format works were purchased by the organizer of some poetry prizes, Giovanni Merlo, with of which winners are rewarded. Which is how Ballantini was inserted, in contrast of the paintings post- Macchiaioli which ruled the market of livornesi painters. Meanwhile, the cabaret shows were being improved, with strong changes to hand-crafted quick changing.
Which became his primary job. Dario performed at town festivals, parties, fairs, night clubs opening a small market.
Rudy Van Nieuwenhove was born in September of
1962 in Kortrijk, Belgium. He showed his first signs
of creative artistry at the age of nine, as a first year
Academy student in Harelbeke. Due to high expectati-
ons in academia, Rudy’s artistic journey was delayed.
Rudy later went to college, but was drawn to back to
artistic training.
Through his curriculum, Rudy rapidly consumed all
knowledge and experienced as much as possible on
the subject of painting, illustration and more, with an
undying thirst. At only nineteen, he held his first solo
exhibition. During this age, Rudy focused mostly on
ink drawings and worked day and night. As a result,
the exhibition was completely sold out and there was
a tall list of orders. In the same year, 1981, Rudy wor-
ked with ‘New Gallery’ in Kortrijk along with other
artists including the widely celebrated Karel Appel.
Many works were sold there, and mainly to buyers in
the Middle East. Due to this great success, Rudy was
able to establish his own company in 1983. He held
exhibitions in just about every town around Kortrijk.
Rudy’s artwork evolved as he worked with oil, acrylic,
and lacquer, always working away here and there, in
a frenzy of wine, caffeine and sugar. Over many ye-
ars, Rudy organized his exhibitions with the help of
his wife Dorine Vanhie. In the last 10 years, he has be-
come increasingly sought out in France, particularly
by champagne houses. They commissioned him regu-
larly to portray exclusive frescoed paintings of their
homes for bottle labels and hangings.
Thusly, Rudy attracted much attention and was given
the opportunity to push himself to his limit. He was
invited to exhibit his works and talents in America,
The Netherlands, and Taipei. Unlocking possibilities,
Rudy came to want to conquer the world, exploring
not only the globe, but equally his artistic abilities; he
delved into sculpting, surrealism, pop-art, nudes, drip-
ping and more.

28 years later in 2007 I made the biggest
decision of my life so far, to move to Britain,
mainly to learn English and to explore my
creative side, that always been there. Mo-
ving firstly to Dornoch, Inverness and then a
year later moving to London.
I started painting and sketching from about
the age of six. My teachers first spotted my
talents in art, but my parents where more
pragmatic and decided I should widen my
studies, so later I Studied a Diploma in Ad-
vertising, PR and Marketing at High School.
Then at university I studied Management

best way to find a job. I worked in this sector
for more than five years and it gave me a
lot of knowledge about different cultures
and countries around the world. But always
being passionate about art and design I went

Over time, Kusama taught herselfthe arts of cubism, abstraction andsurrealism, incorporating her ownunique spins on the classic styles, implementing the obscuring polkadots that had been an integral part ofher artistic works since her childhoodyears. The oldest example of this motif ofKusama's is a drawing from when the artistwas ten which depicts a Japanese woman, presumed to be her own mother, nearlyobliterated by the enormous polka dots. Evenall of these years, this particular style still findsits way into her pieces, and has since becomeher trademark.
Capitalizing on both her love of art and herability to churn out fascinating pieces withsurprising speed, Kusama began exhibiting herworks in Japan and receiving critical acclaimand interest from the public. However, herwanderlust drew her to the teeming metropolisof New York City; with its bohemian idealsand artistic freedom, it seemed to be anantithesis to her strict native Japan. Following along correspondence with Georgia O'Keeffe, which Kusama had initiated after buying andbeing inspired by a book of O'Keeffe's artwork,Kusama set out for the Big Apple to continueher career, where she would spend over 15years. At the age of 27, in 1958, she began herAmerican endeavors.
Due to severe political stringency, Japanesetravelers had many restrictions, including the amount of currencythey were allowed to bring out of the country, to dissuade them fromleaving. Always the ingenious opportunist, Kusama sewed bills intothe lining of her clothes and conquered the city, convincing a smallgallery to stage an exhibition of her work. However, she soon fell onhard times: her meager apartment was unheated, and she describeswinters as being brutal – “a living hell,” though she stayed up all night sometimes, painting to keep warm and to exorcise the demonsof her mind and expel the creative fervor raging inside.
Kusama explains that she has no individual favorite piece of her ownwork – that, once created, it automatically becomes a favorite andthat she loves them all. Her inspiration often comes from her vividhallucinations and visions, which flood her mind on a daily basis anddrown out all other sensations until she is swamped within theatmosphere of creative passion. The results of these visions are herstrikingly singular works, with their lurid colors and bold patterns, reminiscent of aboriginal art with their swirls and dots and delicatestrings of web-like netting.
By 1961, she was being regarded as an innovator in the avant-garde movement, and she was living in the same building as
such notables as Donald Judd and Eva Hesse. Thoughfrequently hospitalized for exhaustion and fatigue broughton by overwork, Kusama continued to delve into her art, inspired by the wild tempest of artists constantly millingaround here, such as Warhol, Jackson Pollock, RoyLichenstein and Willem de Kooning. By 1966, she wascreating enormous free-standing that filled entire rooms

PriskaMedam
Priska Medam, born in Basel/ Switzerland, created
a series of works involved in the magic cosmos of
life. Reminiscent of nature, her work reflects the
processes of forming, of growth and change, of
becoming and of passing away.
Graphic elements, shapes and colors create the
relationship between background and foreground,
silence and movement. Her inexhaustible source
is human life. As a sensitive artist, she observes
her environment then receives passion-filled new
ideas. Colors and forms arise from her inner circle.
Priska Medam is fascinated by art which engages
people. Her works represent at once daydreams
and apparent paradoxes. In the last 5 years Priska
has taken part in, and hosted, many exhibitions at
galleries and has displayed her work in Switzer-
land, Germany, France and the United States.
In 2001 she commenced her studies as a painter
and is now a curator for many events in Basel.

Welcome to our magnificent book Dreams of Di-
amonds and the exclusive limited edition set of
prints from taken from the book entitled The
Illuminant Edition.
As photographic artists and designers for over 20
years we have been involved in all forms of pho-
Alastair laidlaw & Christine Marsden
tography and printing.
Over the years we have become known for our work
with jewels, in particular diamonds, always trying to
combine our creative fine art ideas into our com-
mercial work. As a result of this towards the end of
2007 we began to explore the idea of producing a
Dreams of Diamonds
wonderful book of highly creative photography ex-
clusively devoted to diamonds.
Throughout our commercial careers we have worked
with many of the top publications and jewellers in the
world. But it would be true to say that our greatest joys
in photography have come from our fine art work.
We are committed to large format images and have
been very fortunate on numerous occasions to use the
20x24 inch Polaroid camera, producing exclusive col-
lections of work in both Polaroid Transfer and Emulsion
Lift techniques. We also specialized in Platinum Palla-
dium printing with many of our images being printed
using this technique and successfully produced some
of the largest platinum images in the world.
Considering all the large
format work we had creat-
ed throughout our careers,
the idea of producing a fab-
ulous ‘Super Book’ was a nat-
ural progression along a path we had
already been travelling for many years. The project
was completed in summer 2013.
We both feel delighted and privileged to have been
able to bring together such an exceptional and
unique project and extend our heartfelt thanks to
everyone involved.

Thomas Maes (1983) – Belgian Painter,
Sculptor, Designer, gallerist, art event curator,
event and art fair organization. Director of

Maes has had over the 40 Solo and group exhibi-
tions at Gallery’s and Top Art-fairs Worldwide. His
works are drawing the attention of international
collectors; his visions, Sculpture, designs and pain-
tings are published in 7 fine art international books
Contemporary Masters, contemporary Sculptors
and art magazines. The artist is influenced by a
number of fields, including design, technology,
science, architecture, and archaeology, as well as
art history. With such innovation evident in his
work, The visionary Artist Maes is destined to take
the art world by storm.
One of this year’s highlights in the Modern and
Contemporary Art section include artworks by
Thomas Maes, the premiere of unique oil paintings,
sculptures and design objects, inviting the sophisti-
cated art lovers to discuss about it.
Thomas Maes, born 1983 in Belgium, shows an
extraordinary collection of paintings with ordinary
objects in an unusual context. They attract the
viewer`s attraction by giving new meanings to
familiar things. The use of ordinary objects in
unfamiliar spaces is joined to his desire to create
poetic imagery as well as his consciousness to
think about the Universe. Thomas Maes descri-
bed the process of painting as the art of putting
colors side by side in such a way that their real
aspect is effaced, so that familiar objects - clouds,
ARTISTS
amphoras, houses, trees or cubic forms - become
united in a single poetically disciplined image. The
poetry of these images dispense with any symbolic
significance, old or new. Each of these recurring
themes can be interpreted differently and has
significant meanings.
His paintings titled “Dark Matter”, “A New World”
or “Civilization” represent visible images which
evoke a kind of mystery. Thomas Maes` constant
play with reality and illusion can be attributed to his
interest in history, science and culture. Since seven
years, the Belgium artist is living and working at the
Greece island of Crete, surrounded by the ancient
Minoan civilization and archetypical, archeological
find spots. In his artworks Maes is back and forth
playing, zapping on and off with reality and illusion,
reflecting his constant shifting back and forth per-
ception during his mental time journey. Since many
years Thomas Maes formed his own signature in a
very clean, concise and exacting style.

Lulu Wang
Aside from the books, short films, poems, columns and all the other items mentioned above, Wang is also active in the field of lecturing, giving various lectures about Chinese culture, the (possible) cultural differences between The Netherlands and China and related topics. In doing so, Wang hopes to forge a bridge between Western and Chinese cultures. I for one look forward to reading what Adam and Eve will get up to in China. Beijing, in Wang you have found a true multinational and multi-faceted ambassador.
Lulu Wang is a true Beijinger by birth. She was born in the Chinese capital on Dec. 22, 1960, and moved to The Netherlands in 1986. Her big literary break came when she published “The Lily Theater,” giving an accurate and detailed account of the author’s childhood and teenage years, in 1997, selling almost 1 million copies in The Netherlands alone. The debut also gained her several awards, including the 1999 International Nonino Prize. Ever since she tasted that first bite of success, Wang has continued publishing novels, short stories and poetry on a regular basis.
Schrijfster Lulu Wang.(Den Haag 10-08-10)Foto:Frank JansenLulu Wang, Beijing-born, Holland-resident (and successful) author.
Aside from her many literary efforts, Wang has ventured into the fields of publishing in recent years, Lulu Wang Publishing (2012), short films and book apps. One example of the latter, at the same time adding a new twist to her writing, was her 2013 publication “Summer full of Love” (originally called “Zomervolliefde” in Dutch or “爱满夏天” in Chinese). The work was a bilingual (Dutch-Chinese) multimedia book application featuring short poems about love, a song and a short film. Nevertheless, this was not by any means Wang’s first multi format release; in 2012, she became one of the first literary authors to release a full-on interactive multimedia publication in the form of “Holland, wo ai ni” (originally “Nederland, wo ai ni”) on both the national and international level.
At this very moment, Wang is putting the final touches on her soon to be released (March 2014) “Adam and Eve in China” (originally “Adam en Eva in China”), a non-fictional work in which she promises “to add two new dimensions fans may not be expecting from her.” The work will become available as a free e-book, and will also be offered in other formats.
Since 2013, Wang returned to her birth roots and took up a column for the leading Chinese magazine Shijie Bolan, a publication discussing all that lies abroad. From August last year onwards, she could add Shijie Zhishi magazine to that list as well. For both magazines, Wang mainly discusses life, and all it entails, in Holland and Belgium.

Among her performances, Iris will presenting her detailed unique jewel design (Piece of Cake) at the TM-Art Fine Arts Booths
Piece of Cake
Piece of Cake is a collection of handmade miniature dessert replicas made into jewelry and accessories founded in 2011.
Colorful cupcakes, doughnuts, cakes, tarts and many more real life desserts become the main source of inspiration for this whimsical and romantic collection.
The miniatures are made from polymer clay, a type of hardenable modeling clay, with a long and detailed process. Each piece is shaped from scratch like a small sculpture and when formed, it bakes in the oven at 110o C to harden. After the baking process it’s time for adding beads, chain and some final touches such as glitter or varnish.
A new collection with a special theme comes out every season. Many pieces have traveled all over the world to get to their owners!
Iris, the founder, designer and maker at Piece of Cake, currently lives and works in Greece where she also studies Architecture.
"This tiny little world fascinates me! Inspiration can be found in everyday things. I love taking a stroll and observing. In the end it's all about the details!.."

Gabriel Meiring
Gabriel Meiring was born in 1946 in Johan-
nesburg (South-Africa). In 1968 he moved to
Belgium to complete his education as a con-
cert pianist. Challenged by a friend, he started
turning his focus also on painting. His success
of his first exhibition in 1975 in Deurle (Bel-
gium) convinced him to start concentrating on
pencil drawings, lithography, painting in tem-
pera, acrylic and even oil on silk – a delicate
and unique technique.
As diverse as Gabriel’s techniques, as different are
his many ways of expression: besides painting large
wooden wall panels, he also paints on porcelain and
concert piano’s (Blüthner). He also designs leaded
windows and nteriors for clients. This interior
design integrates his panels in peaceful colors with
a daring and warm color magnificence of the luxuri-
ous fabrics he chooses alongside. This way Gabriel
magically turns a home into a tasteful palace.
Since the 1980’s the demand for private exhibi-
tions of his work increased tremendously. This in
combination with many piano recitals became to
much for him. For three years he retreated to Capri
to perfect his knowledge of anatomy and tech-
nique. After returning a large amount the orders
started pouring in. Thanks to long days of work he
can carry out the numerous orders ever since.
With his work he tries to accomplish a picturesque
balance between color, imagination and a special
technique, which is probably a heritage of his classi-
cal education. Or as a critic writes: “The artworks of
Meiring suggest a musical movement even though
they speak their own picturesque language”.
Comparing his paintings to his music is nog just a
means to comprehend the technique of his works.
The paintings generate an emotional and spiritual
stimulation which is to be compared with the
blessed feeling one gets from listening to a well
performed concert. The emotional timbre of his
work is being developed by the use of mythological
and symbolic theme’s. His style can be described
as ‘Intimate Symbolism’, which portraits the emo-
tional and spiritual content of his art.
The meaning of this expression is bizarre,
supernatural and unreal. Many types of art are
being created and seem to be visual poetry in the
development stage. The
recurring designs he uses
are elegant figures of ex-
traordinary grace and exotic
creatures. Often shaped in gold
and silver leaf and rich patterns. The
subject of his ‘poetry’ is the emotional space and
spiritual atmosphere of his own inner world.
The artworks of Meiring evoke feelings of Art
Nouveau or Vienna Secession of the early 20th
century. With Gustav Klimt he shares the taste
for elegant figures, complicated decorations and
layers of dazzling patterns as well as the refined
and sometimes erotic sensitivity. To accomplish
these effects it’s necessary for the artist to have
absolute control over his tools. The finish and
refinement of Meirings work is perfect and every
part of his artworks deserve the attention of the
viewer. According to Meiring all the paintings have
to be a joy to the senses as well as the spirit.
To reach a larger public Gabriel released in 2006 a
wonderfully illustrated monograph in English, be-
cause he also has many clients abroad and in the Mid-
dle - and Far East. The book received a double Sappi
Award for best art book of Europe and the world.

Roderick Lloyd, a Dutch artist, began his creati-
ve journey, in September of 2011, with a new kind
of art: MORE THAN A PHOTO
At first, he began taking photographs in special pla-
ces all around the world. Upon arriving back home,
he would use some of these photos and ‘paint’ with
them on his computer.
His style: visitors arrive in his fantasy and / or daily
reality life world, colorful and special linings.
Special: he created Mrs. Stairs shopping on Golden
Boulevard. First he took a photo in Antwerp of the
old beautiful wooden escalator. At home he made
this unique art work.
He makes art works, a one and only or in small se-

special RL-art-FLEX-tables. New: the art works can
easily be changed in the RL-art-FLEX-tables. Take

Roderick Loyed
Patrick Ramont is a phenomenon, an enthusiastic
artist, a passionate painter who succeeds in a field
where just about everything seems to be portrayed
repeated and haughty copying, yet to hear their own
voice and develop both a personal visual language of
form and content is beholden to no one.
He uses an equally obvious and remarkable figuration
that are realistic about coming, and then loaded by
symbolism, with hints of magic is adorned, is
immediately visible and which are still unfolding on
closer inspection in various waves of recognition.
He paints what he sees and what he suspects behind
the visible and feel, which is part of his inner life and
his daydreams that fundamental part of his existence.
Thus sets grow large canvases in which instance he
hurt depicts a surprising abstract visual language that
graceful and evocative at the same time, or a female
nude in an unusual coloration and in a candid and
direct tone of admiration and visual field daring to
approach a concrete and true reality.
Much of what he paints has a strange appearance
that one can not interpret because both the allure
and the meanings of his scenes are barely or not at
all seen immediately and show a surprising depth
and a unique vision of what goes beyond the
everyday presentation.
Not that he would develop inaccessible but in many
of his paintings, and certainly in the works here is
indeed more than just shape and color available.
PatrickRamont
A visual language he clearly chose here to show that a
significant undercurrent, reveal his entire oeuvre, all of
which have to do with space and spatiality, with three
of the five elements, circles and depth, with light that
carries a number of works many mysteries, with
palpable mystery, and an abundance of boulders and
stones in colors that avoid alienating many artists
because they are so difficult to handle.
Purple and teal, however, take this to the creation of
an almost magical atmosphere which further
emphasized by the structure of his works, by the
presence of immediately visible and somewhat hidden
circles, through darkness and light that enter a
fascinating dialogue.
"I am a moon child, born at full moon" says Patrick
Ramont with artless and innocent belief that evidence
of a peaceful and meaningful self-confidence.
That statement can be seen as an explanation for the
ubiquity of a shining and often triple circular motif in
paintings of darkness and light, shadows and ghosts,
of reality and symbolism of what is sometimes
described as the music of the spheres.
Nature is an important motif in his creativity. He
integrates her in a personal way and rarely seen in
everything he paints. So much so that they coincide
with his view of things and beings that they
spontaneously appears when he guided himself
through his imagination.
This applies equally to concrete structures as ethereal
images like moon and clouds, heavenly bodies, a
personal view of physicality and also many that refers
to the sea in general and breakwaters and palisade of
Ostendn in particular.
He portrays a silent world of a multi-layered universe
in which light is a walking data that is born from a
variety of sources, which dragon eggs break open and
a mischievous creature appears, in which a medieval
devil chuckles, a world in which man is not yet present
and little further another world in which man has
already come and gone his characteristic destruction
has made what is suggested. a broken pier
Patrick Ramont depicts alienation and also a reality
that is part of his experience and by fantastique,
powered view of the world that surrounds him and
part of his artistic mind. That is, as already mentioned,
nudes with a special appearance but above clouds and
skies, depth and tranquility, stones tend towards an
elliptical shape and with a strange luminosity are
animated and sometimes have something of menhirs,
references to the sea with clouds a play important
role, celestial bodies that the trinity of water, fire and
earth calls circles that show how closely he puts colors
and creates transparencies, a sensitive and
immeasurable background that is populated subtle
references and presences.
He creates dialogues and makes connections between
reality and fantasy books, between form and content,
between the pure and authentic painting and a
personal philosophy.
What might be a little strange at first glance turns out
afterwards to be a real and artless pictorial drive the
reflection.
