Enabling the Internet of Things

The IPSO Alliance is the leading organizationpromoting the use of the Internet Protocol (IP) forsmart object communications for use in energy,consumer, healthcare, industrial, and many otherapplications.

Vision: Provide the foundation for a network that willallow any sensor-enabled physical object tocommunicate to another as seamlessly as individualscommunicate to another as seamlessly as individualsdo over the internet.

Structure of the IPSO Alliance

 Simple 2 tier structure

 Promoter – voting rights, elect and serve on BoD

 Contributor – participate in all events and committees

 Fees: $5000 for Promoter; $2500 for Contributor ($1000 for Innovator (startups));for Innovator (startups));

 Board of Directors – Define Alliance strategy, external communications, direct internal activities

 Technical Advisory Board (TAB) – Review technical publications, oversee technical committees

 Committees:

 Smart Energy, Interoperability, Building Automation, Security, Web-object
