2015 Scholarships Awarded

ETA Chapter presented Grant-in-Aid Awards of $300 to two area graduating high school seniors during the Awards Program at their respective high schools in June. Damon Young was the recipient from Mount Anthony Union High School (MAUHS). Katherine Reed (pictured) was the Arlington Memorial High School recipient. The recipients of these Grants-in-Aid must be graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in education.

Community Service Project On August 24th Cheryl King and Dianne Lamb met with Quantum Leap (QL) Directors Danielle & Ricci Crosier. QL is an alternative education program to keep students who are at risk of dropping out of school engaged in education. QL utilizes an intensive and creative curriculum which relies heavily on expression through research, writing, the arts, and media literacy. ETA Chapter will learn more about this unique program - A Radical Idea for Keeping Kids in School - at future meetings and ways that we can assist them to reach their goals. QL depends on donations and fund raising events - the school district provides no budget for needed materials. Right now ETA Chapter can help QL by bringing school supplies like pens, pencils, spiral bound notebooks, or calculators to the October 6th meeting.
