At Nordea’s seminar series for ERP and TMS vendors this autumn, participants received an update on ongoing initiatives covering all four countries. If you attended, we hope you got a lot out of the seminar. It is important to us, however, that we help you prepare and plan for upcoming new services and solutions that we will offer. By sharing information about upcoming deployments, we hope that our joint customers can benefit from faster access to new and better solutions provided by Nordea.

Below is a short summary from each session. Farther down, you can find a link to the material presented at the seminars for more detail and visuals.

Innovation initiatives in NordeaOne of our key values is to be relevant for customers. In a fast changing market, it is important to constantly explore new opportunities and offer innovative solutions. Technology is definitely a driver, and to be at the forefront we have established our own Innovation Lab, arranged accelerator programs for start-ups and facilitated round-table sessions with FinTechs – to mention a few initiatives. Nordea is also focusing on innovating across business areas in order to enhance internal idea generation and most importantly, to improve our innovation culture and way of working.

Open BankingThe revised EU Payment Services Directive, PSD2, will be transposed into national laws on 1 January 2018. The main objectives of PSD2 are to protect consumers, make payments safer and more secure, and contribute to a more integrated and efficient European payments market. PSD2, together with new technology and changing customer behavior, will revolutionise the payment ecosystem, create competition and boost innovation.

Nordea has started its journey in terms of Open Banking. We are developing an Open Banking platform - a new channel utilising API technology. APIs will enable us to combine FinTech and other third-party offerings with the Nordea universal banking offering. We are not only focusing on the mandatory Access-to-Accounts services, but will deliver more innovative solutions to our customers through our own and third-party digital channels.

Nordea Digital CorporateWe are developing a new netbank for corporate customers that will replace the current local netbanks in four Nordic countries, namely Netbank Erhverv, Netbank Bedrift, Internetbanken Foretag and Classic Netbank. The new netbank will be able to integrate with customers’ ERP systems in an efficient manner for payment files and account statements, as well as A/P and A/R data, etc.

The new netbank will be launched during 2017, starting with Sweden.

Corporate AccessDuring 2016, we launched Corporate Access Payables in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with a focus on customers who needed to be SEPA compliant. Next year, we will start dialogues with other customers (regardless of whether they use EUR payments or not), and migrate them from old local solutions to Corporate Access. In 2017 we will launch the payables solution in Finland, while all countries will see a stepwise launch of XML Account Reporting.

SEPA end date is now behind us, but we are continuing to improve Corporate Access and add new functionalities and value-adding services for customers. In this article we have provided an overview of what you can look forward to in 2017.

New services in Corporate AccessWe are happy to tell you that we have now added the service “cancellation on file” to our Corporate Access solution. The service includes the following message types in XML: camt.055 and camt.029.

Cancellation on file enables customers to send a cancellation message from their ERP-solution via the message-type pain.055, to cancel a file that has already been received by the bank. When the cancellation file (pain.055) is received by Nordea, we will return a pain.029 for confirmation.

The benefit of using cancellation on file is that you can cancel a file without making the cancellation manually in Corporate Netbank. When implementing “cancellation on file” you will secure that you have the same information in your ERP-system as registered in the bank.

The functionality “cancellation on file” is mandatory for making cancellations for entities connected to “Statens Konsernkontoordning” (The Governmental Cash Pool solution) in Norway.

Changes in Secure Envelope In order to make it easier to route report files to several receivers, an update has been made in the Secure Envelope technical description. This makes it easier to see to whom to address the report file. The different SignerIDs can be presented in the header of Secure Envelope, giving you the possibility to route the report file directly. This eliminates the need of first analysing the content of the file that is transported in Secure Envelope.

Please see www.nordea.com/vendors where the updated description is published.

Corporate Access Account Reporting During 2017, we will launch XML Account Reporting for Corporate Access customers to complement the Corporate Access Payables solution.

The development is ongoing, creating account statements and debit and credit advices in XML format for Corporate Access customers. Development is currently at an early stage and more detailed plans will be disclosed in the March newsletter.

Nordea has implemented the SEPA Direct Debit creditor service, and is running pilots in production mode for corporate customers. The service will be available for Nordea customers in the following channels: Corporate Netbank, WebServices and eGateway, and it requires that the customer has an account with Nordea in Finland.

The XML file types used are:

Pain.008.001.02 for collections Pain.002.001.03 for feedback

The service has been developed in accordance with the EBA rulebooks for Core and B2B schemes, and the XML format used for the service is based on ISO20022.

Message Information Guides (MIG) for XML files and a service description will be published on nordea.com/vendors shortly, together with an XML test tool for collections.

As a bank that provides the latest security to customers, Nordea now presents the new solution for Corporate Access and Web Services: Nordea Security Client (NSC). NSC is available at nordea.com and replaces Nexus Personal.

NSC is a client that is used to download the certificate used when signing payload files in customer ERP systems using secure envelope for Corporate Access or Web Services. The certificate is valid for two years. Customers who have recently downloaded a certificate will not need to download the new client until at latest 2018, when their certificate expires.

NSC can also be used to sign payload files for file uploads via Corporate Netbank File Transfer. It has been updated with a new design and interface, making it more obvious that it is a Nordea application. We have also solved the earlier national characters problem.

The next step is to introduce the Nordea Security Token (NST). The NST is a smartcard-based USB token where the certificate, downloaded with NSC, is stored. This will replace the soft certificates, to enhance the security and mitigate the risk of losing the soft certificate to fraudsters by malicious code. An alternative

to this is to use cloud services that employ a local Hardware Security Module, HSM, to store the keys.

Where to find NSC infoThe new version of NSC, along with a user guide, is available for customers here:

• nordea.com/CorporateAccess (tab ‘Certificate Download’)

• nordea.com/vendors (tab ‘Certificate Download’)

Information is also available on nordea.fi/WS (Web Services)

FinlandFINLAND: Nordea’s step-by-step introduction of the Global Payment Engine (GPE) is continuing at a good pace. Now the third and final step – the introduction of Finnish SEPA* Credit Transfer Interbank payments to the new platform – will be implemented during February 2017.

• In March, the AOS2 extension in outbound payments sent to Corporate Payments Services and direct to receivers in other Finnish banks will increase from 9 to 999 occurrences.

• Incoming AOS2 payments are delivered to receivers in Nordea by using structured Remittance Information, i.e. Creditor Reference, according to ISO 11649, is delivered in element, Reference.

LOCAL NEWS First steps to new payment landscape and processes

• The reporting of the filing code will change from current practise. The filing code of SEPA payments can have a maximum of 35 characters. Nordea creates filing codes with 18 characters only. Filing codes given by Nordea are delivered in transaction information, and original SEPA filing codes given by the originating bank is delivered in add-on information in account statements reported in Finnish TITO-format.

• Nordea´s filing code in record T10 field 5• Original filing code in record T11 field 5.7

More information on debit transactions created in Corporate Payments Service • When a pain.001 message has the value ”false” in the element BatchBooking, credit transfers are debited one by

one from the debtor account. One single CPS debit will be completed with add-on information - Creditor Name and Creditor Account Number, as well as Remittance Information: creditor reference or free text message.

• Specification transactions including all information delivered to the creditor is still delivered, and thus part of the information is reported twice in Finnish TITO-format.

• Debit transaction in record T10 on level 0• Specification transaction in record T10 on level 1

• This solution is not the final way to book and report single transactions, but enables full content in debit transactions inquired from real-time channels or user interfaces, such as Corporate Netbank.

About AOS2Invoices and credit notes in AOS2 bundles are now identified with original DocumentType5Code values CINV and CREN, and in account statements in local format.

The current practise to provide the text “Invoice” or “Credit note” will end, first in AOS2 transactions coming from other banks and later in all specification transactions.

We also want to remind you that AOS2 bundles must be correctly formed, i.e. according to “Description of additional optional service 2 (AOS2) applied in Finland to SEPA credit transfer” published by FFI: http://www.finanssiala.fi/maksujenvalitys/Sivut/Tekniset-kuvaukset.aspx

If invoices and credit notes are not correctly formed, they cannot be delivered to the beneficiary or reported in payer account statements.

Finland FINLAND: The receiver proposal (RP-message) can be used to get the customer’s e-invoice address even before the first invoice. It can also be used when there is a need to move customers from one invoicing subject to another.

Nordea now supports the use of RP-messages for both those cases and forwards messages to other banks that support this service. For more detailed information please refer to the service descriptions on nordea.fi.

Nordea’s implementation has been done according to the guidelines of the Federation of Finnish Financial Services (FFI). Please refer to the Notification Service Guidelines 2.01 for detailed instructions.

It is not possible to use the RP-message for direct payment customers, because direct payments are only for customers that do not have the possibility to use netbank.

DEC 2016

SWEDEN: The debit advice via file (DA1) from payments executed in Internetbanken Företag contains all debit entries on the account, and is typically downloaded via Girolink. In order to use the same format for the debit advice via file (DA1) - regardless of whether the customer imports a payment file, key in their payments manually in Internetbanken Företag or use the file service Corporate File Payments - Nordea is planning to change the format for the debit advice via file for payments executed in Internetbanken Företag. After the change the DA1 file will follow the standard technical description for Corporate File Payments/cross-border payments/DA1. The technical description is available at www.nordea.se/programleverantorer

ERP/software vendors who have implemented the file format Nordea delivers today, which is different in regards to the reporting of cross-border payments executed in Internetbanken Företag, will be affected. The change is planned for March 2017, and we will revert later with the exact date.

Differences between the old and the future file formatWith cross-border payments today, Nordea delivers the DA1 file with a start record (MH01) and an end record (MT01) per payment. The foreign amount is reported in the MH01 record and the exchanged amount in the DR00 record. The DR01 record is not presented at all.

In the future, when it comes to the standard file format (with reference to the existing technical description mentioned above) the foreign amount is reported in the DR00 record and the exchanged amount in the DR01 record. In addition, all cross-border payments from the same currency pocket (valutaficka) will be compiled within the same start and end record (MH01 and MT01).
