Ms. Thomas Williams is an Attorney at law, currently engaged in private practice. She specializes in Industrial Relations and legal issues surrounding employment and representsa range of employers in collective bargaining.Her professional work covers managementtraining in the Caribbean Region, in IndustrialRelations, Human Resource Management, HRand IR Policy Design and Implementation, andOccupational Safety and Health Management.

Ms. Thomas Williams has held management positions in the public and private sectors ofTrinidad and Tobago and Guyana and has lectured in the field of Human Resource Manage-ment and Industrial Relations in the Public Sectorat the University of the West Indies (St. AugustineCampus). She is also the immediate Past Presidentof the Safety Council of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr . Tony L . Henthorne

Dr. Henthorne teaches Marketing Planning &Strategy. He directs all graduate programs, research activities and international programsfor his college. He has worked with resort entitiesthroughout the Caribbean and Mexico on marketplanning and customer service. His latest worksdeal with destination image and brand person-alities of Cuba and Jamaica.

Dr . David S. CohenDr. Cohen is the founder and a principalconsultant with Strategic Action Group, Ltd. (in 1991). His passion is about aligningpeople practices with the company’s cultureand strategic business plan. He has beenspeaking on the topic of behavioural com-petencies as a business tool aligned withthe business strategy for over 29 years. His work crosses all business sectors.Dr. Cohen has built competency modelsthat are currently in use in companiesthroughout Europe, North America, TheCaribbean, and Southeast Asia. Wayne Chen, LLB

Wayne Chen is Past President of the JamaicaEmployers’ Federation (JEF) and the PresidentCaribbean Employers’ Confederation (CEC). Heis also Chairman and CEO of Super Plus FoodStores. Mr. Chen has served on the boards ofseveral Jamaican companies including The National Commercial Bank, The Victoria Mutual Building Society, The CVM TelevisionGroup, Urban Development Corporation, theNational Land Agency, the National Gallery ofJamaica and the Advisory Board of the CaribbeanPolicy Research Institute.

In1998 he was the Jamaica Observer’s BusinessLeader of the Year. He is the co-author of “ReggaeRoutes: The History of Jamaican Popular Music”(Temple University Press 1998).

Steven BurchMr. Burch is the Senior Partner at Quaestus,a UK consulting firm specializing in creativeand effective training and development initia-tives. He is a lively and engaging trainer,great coach, skillful facilitator and effectivecommunicator, with people at any level in the organization.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute ofPersonnel and Development, is a past councilmember of the Association for ManagementEducation and Development and has trainedin excess of 30,000 persons to date. Stevenis an author with Kogan Page business publishers in the UK.

Michel NerayMr. Neray is a creative marketing copywriter,advertising agency director and marketingexecutive; a visionary and entrepreneurialgame-changer. In 1995 he founded PortfoliosOnline, the world’s first Internet search enginefor advertising and creative professionals.

He has held leadership positions in theCanadian Association of ProfessionalSpeakers. In 2012, he created “Momondays”,an entertaining monthly show based on inspiring, personal storytelling. Mrs. Harris-Roper is an Attorney-At-Law with over 14 years experience in the Labour/Industrial Relations and Employment Lawfields within the Caribbean. She is currentlythe Regional Director Labour Relations in theCaribbean with Scotiabank.

DeWayne Pryce Mr. Pryce, an experienced educator, managerand administrator, is currently the Director forStandards and Assessment Development atthe National Council on TVET (NCTVET),where he provides leadership in the develop-ment of competency standards and otherguidelines to inform training and certificationpr ogrammes in the TVET system. He wasseconded to the Ministry of Education as Director for the TVET Rationalization, wherehe had responsibility for equipping schools to meet the requirements for offering TVET training, as well as the rationalization andintegration of TVET in all secondary schools.

Mr. McLeary is currently the Senior Director,Human Resources Management & Adminis-tration with the Airports Authority of Jamaica.He is a Practitioner and Researcher in Organizational Behaviour and has gained significant experience in human resourcemanagement while working in large and smallorganizations across the industries oftelecommunications, electric utility, distribu-tion (consumer and pharmaceutical) and airtransport. Through working in academia,Carvell also gained organizational diagnosisand improvement experience.

R o b e r t O p p e n h e i m e rDr. Oppenheimer is a Professor in the Depart-ment of Management at Concordia University,where he has taught courses in developingmanagerial an personal skills, negotiation andconflict resolution, organizational behaviour andhuman resource management. She hasover twenty years experience in enhancingoutcomes through leadership, training, customizing insurance and risk solutionsand project management. Claudette Wi l l iams-MyersDr. Williams-Myers has served as AssociateDean, Acting Dean in the College of Businessand Management and in various academic,administrative and leadership positions atthe University of Technology for several years.She has conducted research in several areasincluding teaching/learning/ training, work-place requirements, balancing multiple priorities, disabilities and leadership succes-sion planning and presented at various conferences in Jamaica, the United Statesand in Europe. She has vast experience inteaching/training in academic and corporatesettings. She has enjoyed much success in initiating, developing and implementingcourses in a variety of areas for academicand corporate clients. Dr. Williams-Myerscontinues to make significant impact in thecommunities she serves and in 2014 wasawarded the University of Technology’s topaward; the Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Marcia Rowe Amonde

Dr. Rowe Amonde is currently a Senior Directorat the HEART Trust NTA where she is responsiblefor leading the quality assurance of technical andvocational education and training programmes(TVET) to ensure quality TVET programmes,overseeing the capacity building of TVET pro-fessionals and strengthening the interface withthe Ministry of Education to advance TVET inthe formal education system.

Ambassador Dr. Richard L. Bernal

Ambassador Dr. Richard L. Bernal is the Executive Director–Caribbean, Inter-AmericanDevelopment Bank. Dr. Bernal was previouslythe Director-General of the Caribbean RegionalNegotiating Machinery (RNM) which is respon-sible for trade negotiations including those in theWTO for the member states of the CaribbeanCommunity (CARICOM), Cuba and the DominicanRepublic. He was Principal Negotiator for Forumof Caribbean States (CARIFORUM) in the negoti-ations, which led to the CARIFORUM- EuropeanUnion Economic Partnership Agreement).

He was also CARICOM’s lead negotiator in theFree Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) negoti-ations and has been lead negotiator in numerous negotiations on behalf of Jamaicaand CARICOM, including agreements on invest-ment, intellectual property rights, textiles and apparel, trade agreements, debt reductionagreements and loans from multilateral financialinstitutions (IMF, World Bank, and IADB).

C o n v e n t i o n S p e a k e r sK. Barrington ThomasTobago born and raised, K. Barrington Thomasstarted his working life as a teacher in thePrimary School system. He enlisted as aMilitary Officer, spent nine (9) years with theTrinidad and Tobago Defense Force (Regiment);retiring at the rank of Captain in 1989.

Mr. Thomas co-developed the Special ForcesUnit of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment duringhis tenure, and commanded it for the first six(6) years of its existence. In 2003, he launchedhis own business – Incubator CaribbeanFocus Limited.

And re McDona ldDr. Andre McDonald is a medical doctor, and the CEO and Founder of Suretime EmergencyMedical Services, a family business with a teamof doctors with a wide range of exper- tise with supporting competent medical staff, located at 10 Trafalgar Road. He is the Chief Medical Officerfor Guardian Life Paramedic Centre and for theNational Golden Age Home, which houses nearly500 residents, in addition to support staff. Dr. McDonald also ha s primary responsibilitiesto provide medical services to a number of otherpublic and private entities.

He is a member and past Director of the Kiwanisclub of Eastern Kingston and Port Royal and amember of Mona Baptist circuit of churches. He is a very accomplished and articulate man ofGod. He adores the Lord; he loves people and values success in all areas of life.
