To save energy and to help protect theenvironment, we recommend that you follow thesehints:

• Try to load the maximum capacity of the machineas small loads are uneconomical.

• Always load well spun laundry. The higher the spinspeed, the lower the electricity consumption andthe shorter the drying times.

• Do not overdry laundry, this avoids creasing andsaves energy.Select the drying programme according to thetype of laundry and the required degree ofdryness.

• To utilize the maximum load, laundry which is tobe dried ready to put away (store dry) can bedried together with items to be ironed. To do this, select the programme for irondry, remove theirondry items at the end of the programme andthen finishdry the rest of the load.

• Clean the filters regularly to avoid excessivedrying times and high electricity consumption.

• Ventilate the room well. The room temperatureshould not exceed +35°C during drying.

Installation

Warning!Unpacking

Slide out the polythene bag with thepolystyrene stuffing before using theappliance. Pull off adhesive strips from insidemachine on top of drum.

PositioningIt is recommended that, for your convenience, themachine is positioned close to your washingmachine.Whilst drying, the tumble dryer will expel a certainamount of warm, very moist air, and this should beremoved from the room as quickly as possible toprevent condensation. In an extremely well ventilatedroom or close to an open window, this may occurnaturally. However, in general, it is better to carry the dryer'sexhaust outside via the 100 mm diameter flexiblehose supplied with the appliance; ending eithertemporarily at an open window, or permanently at a fixed ventilation grille, fitted to an exterior wall orwindow. The tumble dryer must be installed in a clean place, where dirt does not build up.Make sure there are no obstructing items or materialnear the airintake louvres provided atthe back (e.g. paper, rags etc.).

To keep vibration and noise to a minimum when thedryer is in use, it should be placed on a firm, levelsurface.Once in its permanent operating position, check thatthe dryer is absolutely level with the aid of a spiritlevel. If it is not, raise or lower the feet until it is.

The feet must never be removed.Do not restrict the floor clearance through deeppile carpets, strips of wood or similar. This might cause heat buildup which wouldinterfere with the operation of the appliance.

ImportantWhen operating the tumble dryer, the roomtemperature must not exceed 35°C, as it may affectthe performance of the appliance.

Fitting the vent hoseTo simplify the installation, there is a choice of ventoutlets: one at the back, the others in the left andrighthand side.Connect the hose to whichever is the moreconvenient by pulling the ring nut (A) from the ventoutlet at the back, screwing it on to the hose andpushing it firmly back into place. The unused vents should now be sealed with thespecial snap covers provided.

Advice : If the hose is long and the roomtemperature low, the moisture might condense towater inside the hose. This is an unavoidablenatural phenomenon. To prevent this water fromIying in the hose or flowing back into the tumbledryer, it is advisable to drill a small hole (dia. 3 mm) in the lowest point of the hose and to place

a small container below it.(See picture, point B).

Once connected to the dryer, run the vent hose tothe desired outlet point, ensuring that the run’soverall length is less than 2.5 m, and that it containsno more than two bends. As to the outlet itself, ifyou have decided on a fixed wall/window grille, agood local builder’s merchant should be able tosupply you with the necessary f itt ings andinstallation advice.

It is important not to connect theventhose to, for example, a cooker hood,or a chimney or flue pipe designed tocarry the exhaust from a fuel burningappliance.

Note that to avoid condensation problems, it isessential that the dryer be fitted with the flexiblehose to carry its “exhaust” at least beyond thekitchen units; preferable outside the kitchen.

In order to prevent the appliance from overheating,

it is important that the steam exhaust isunobstructed. Therefore, in case of a permanent hose fitted to anexterior wall or ceiling, it must be ensured anexhaust capacity of at least 150 m3/h.

If the dryer is fitted next to kitchen units, makesure that the vent hose is not squashed. If thehose is partially squashed, drying efficiencywill be reduced, resulting in longer drying timesand higher energy consumption. If the hose is completely squashed, the safetycutouts with which the machine is fitted mayoperate.

Electrical connectionThis machine is designed to operate on a 220230V, singlephase, 50 Hz supply.

Check that your domestic electrical installation cantake the maximum load required (2.2 kW), alsotaking into account any other appliances in use.

Connect the machine to an earthed socket, inaccordance with current wiring regulations.

The manufacturer declines anyresponsibility for damage or injurythrough failure to comply with the abovesafety precaution.

Stacking kitA special stacking kit is available through yourdealer, to enable the mounting of the dryer on topof your washing machine.

Door reversalTo make it easier to load or unload the laundry thedoor can be reversed. This operation must be carried out by qualifiedpersonnel. Please contact the nearest Electrolux ServiceCentre.

do not tumble dry

• Close pillowcases and covers with fasteners toprevent small laundry items getting tangled insidethem. Close press studs, zips and hooks and tiebelts and apron strings.

• Sort laundry according to type and degree ofdrying required.

• Do not overdry laundry, this avoids creasing andsaves energy.

• Avoid drying dark clothes with light coloured fluffyitems such as towels as they could attract thefluff.

• The laundry must be thoroughly spun beforetumble drying.

• Easycare items, too, e.g. shirts, should bebriefly prespun before drying (depending oncrease resistance approx. 30 seconds or usingthe special brief spin programme of your washingmachine).

• Knitted textiles (knitted underwear) may shrink alittle during drying. Please do not overdry items ofthis type. It is advisable to allow for shrinkagewhen choosing the size of new purchases.

Maintenance and Cleaning

You must disconnect the appliance from theelectricity supply, before you can carry out anycleaning or maintenance work.

External cleaningUse only soap and water and then dry thoroughly.

Important: do not use methylated spirit, diluentsor similar products.

Cleaning the doorClean periodically the interior part of the door toremove any fluff from the seals around the filter.Accurate cleaning ensures correct drying.

Cleaning the filtersYour dryer will only function well if the filters areclean.

The filters collect all the fluff which accumulatesduring drying and they must therefore be cleanedat the end of each programme, before removingthe laundry, with a damp cloth.

The filter in the inner door must be removed forcleaning.

Do not be alarmed by the amount of fluff. It is notdue to excessive wear caused by the dryer. Allfabric loses fluff when drying but it goes unnoticedin the air. In a tumble dryer it simply collects in thefilter.
