The Golden Envelope You may buy as many tickets as you wish at £1 each! The number of tickets bought dictates the size of the Pot. Each “Draw Date” with the estimated amount of “Prize Money” will be announced in advance. If one of your tickets is drawn then you get to choose one of ten envelopes, one of which will be the Pot Winner. If you don’t pick the winning envelope you will get £20! You don’t have to be at the draw but your ticket MUST be, in a friends hands! If the winning envelope is not picked then the Pot will be carried over to the next draw for which you will need to buy new tickets. The number of envelopes reduces each time the Pot is not won. (To a minimum of 3 envelopes) So the Pot potentially can grow to huge proportions, if the winning envelope is not picked! A percentage of the takings will go towards the “nominated charity/centre”. Get your Tickets from Peter & Sue Smith. £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £

What to expect on rallies…

…it is a gathering of Caravan Club members, for a weekend or holiday, to promote friendship and

pursue many pleasures, pastimes and sometimes sport, in a light hearted manner and have fun along the

way. You should never feel obliged to join in anything that does not interest you.

The Rally Marshal is an ordinary member, who has volunteered to organise and run the rally. This usually

includes arranging the rally, signing the approach to the rally field, and organising competitions and

entertainment for all ages. This may include a “Social” on Saturday evening, which is a family event or a

communal barbecue on the field in summer. They will also arrange the water supply and facilities for the

disposal of waste water and toilet emptying.

The starting time of rallies is stated in the handbook. This is to allow the Marshal sufficient time to prepare,

so please do not arrive before this time. On arrival at the field, drive up to the Marshals van, usually the first

on the field, where all will be revealed. Please advise them if this is your first rally. They will hand you an

envelope containing the rally programme, and printed on the front your name and papers that you have

ordered. Please place in the front window of your caravan.

Towards the end of the rally there is a Flagpole meeting. This is where Ralliers gather with the Marshals to

hear the results of any competitions, Centre news, and to extend thanks to those who made the rally

possible, welcome visitors and new Ralliers and announce forthcoming events, etc. Usually tea, coffee and

tuck shop are available.

All you need in addition to items you would normally expect to take on a commercial site is your own toilet

together with a water container to fill it (toilets must NEVER be taken to the drinking water tap, this is a

serious health hazard), and waste bin for dry waste, which you have to take home with you. Simple wooden

wedges and packing pieces are sometimes required on sloping fields.

The Rally Marshal will site you to ensure adequate spacing between caravans, and the owners’ car is

parked along the offside of the caravan. If you have a second car or visitors with cars these must be parked

in specified parking area.

Why not give it a try? If in doubt give us a ring (any Committee Member or Rally Marshal in the book). Don’t

forget we all rally for pleasure and aim to share this pleasure with you.

Message to all Members from Malcolm.

I would like to take a minute to wish everyone well on the rally field and to say I hope you enjoy the rally

venues and programmes that have been put together this year.

We could not rally without our Marshals and their Assistants, thank you all for taking on this task. If you

require any help or advice please give me a call. As last year I will be holding a list of members who may be

able to help in opening a rally. (If you could help opening a rally please contact me and I will add you to the

list)

We are always looking for new marshals and new ideas, so if you have been on a rally and have enjoyed

what you have seen or done and feel you would like to have a go at marshalling or assisting please speak

to me or other committee members. There is work involved but it can be very rewarding and a lot of fun,

especially when you see people enjoying themselves all due to your efforts.

I would like to thank all members who have been involved in putting this rally book together.

If any member has a rally site in mind that they wish to Marshal in 2016 please speak to me so we can

discuss the venue & dates in detail. If any member wishes to Marshal a HOLIDAY rally in 2016 also contact

me with your ideas. Holiday sites get booked up very early by other centres. (Work for the 2016 rally book

will begin early March 2015).

Rally sites are becoming harder to find and the cost are also rising, if you know of a potential site please

find out the basic information. (Eg. are the owners interested in us using it as a rally site?) Do a basic check

of the site, obtain phone numbers, contact details and full address, and forward the details to me. I will then

arrange a site visit.

Before I close, could I ask members to please try and book into a rally before the closing date. (The

marshal tries to cost a “Social” before the event, if the numbers booking in are low this may result in a rally

or social being cancelled). Thank you.

I look forward to seeing you and your families on a rally field in 2015.

Hon Rally Sec

Malcolm Johns

Generators should not be used without prior permission from the marshals and certainly

NOT between 9pm and 9am.
