Dear Colleagues,
Periarticular fractures are both versatile and challenging, even for the experienced surgeon. Every joint has its own characteristics, both ana-tomically and functionally. This must be taken into consideration when the indication is made, when the method of fi xation is chosen and when the actual surgery is performed.
In this symposium we have invited speakers with great knowledge from all over Europe to give key lectures on selected topics on fractures around major joints, followed by extensive case discussion where you will have ample opportunity to discuss all aspects of these diffi cult fractures with other participants as well as our international speakers. The symposium is aimed at the experienced orthopaedic and trauma sur-geon who wants to improve and share knowledge.
The medical industry has helped us improve fracture management consid-erably with a growing number of implants that has improved mechanical features, enhanced anatomical shapes and features that help us perfect reduction and fi xation and even though we still build our treatment on a platform of scientifi c evidence and basic principles, the improvements in implants are very important.
We look forward to see you in Copenhagen in April 2014 and promise you a comprehensive and interactive symposium on periarticular fractures. We hope that you will fi nd it inspiring and educational to discuss yours and our cases with experts from all sides.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Yours,
