MANAGEMENTThe Football Championships are the direct responsibility of the CIF Los Angeles City Section. The Sport Coordinator shall coordinate and facilitate the administration of the Football Championship. The Sport Coordinator will oversee game management and operations of this event. All logistical and security aspects of the championship are the responsibility of the Section. Participating School administrators will support the supervision efforts of their coaches, teams and spectators. All questions regarding game management and logistics are to be directed to John Aguirre, the Section Commissioner.

CHAMPIONSHIP VENUEEl Camino College, Murdock Stadium will be the site of the Division III, II, I & Open Football Championships. The Stadium is located at 1 Stadium Way, (Redondo Beach Blvd), Torrance, CA 90506 and is easily accessible from the 405 and 91 freeways.

BROADCAST & WEBCAST RIGHTSThe NFHS Network maintains the sole broadcast and webcast rights to all LACS championship events. Any party wishing to broadcast or webcast the championship games must receive written approval from the NFHS and Section Commissioner prior to the event. All continuous videotaping of the game is restricted to the team camera and authorized parties. Media news outlets are restricted to 5 minutes of continuous video-taping during the game.

ONLINE PROGRAMSTeams advancing to the Quarter-final round are required to submit their team picture in a JPEG format, team numerical roster with coaches and administrators names and title included and a school logo in a JPEG format which will be used for the Championship Program. Please email this information to SID, Dick Dornan [email protected]. Programs will be available online only to view at www.cif-la.org under Sports / Football / Championship Programs.

HOME / VISITOR DETERMINATIONThe higher seeded team will be the HOME TEAM for the championship game. The HOME TEAM will be assigned the East side bleacher of the Stadium. The VISITOR will be the lower seeded team and will be assigned the West side bleacher of the Stadium.

OFFICIAL GAME BALLNike is the official game ball. Nike will be the required ball used for all playoff and championship games. Each school will receive an additional ball for the championship game. The Nike ball is to be used for all play including special team situations.

TEAM BUS PARKINGTeam drop off will be on the access road behind the football stadium. Team bus parking lot can be accessed from Manhattan Beach Blvd directly behind the north end of the stadium. Teams will enter the stadium via the tunnel entrance near the drop off point. Locker rooms will be assigned and are located on the home bleacher side and the visiting team locker room is located near midfield on the visitor’s side. Players, band, drill, and cheer for the home team will meet their buses at the drop-off point, visiting team buses will pick up the visiting teams behind the visitors stands.

SPECTATOR PARKINGThere is ample parking available in parking lots F & H access on 1 Stadium Way from Redondo Beach Blvd. Parking is $5.00 per car. Remember to remove all valuables from your vehicle.

PUBLIC ENTRANCE - Spectator admission gates will open at 2:00 PM. Ticket booths are located at the South East end of the stadium. Home team spectators are assigned to the EAST side bleachers, visiting team spectators are assigned to the WEST side bleachers. There are no in–and-out allowed - Please inform your school community. Admissions is good for all games on Saturday.

PASS GATE – Spectators with State CIF passes, Executive pass, and Gold pass are asked to show the pass at the ticket booth to receive their admission ticket for themselves and a guest.

SEATING AREAParticipating schools are offered seating between the 30-yard lines in the lower half of the bleachers. Schools are asked to assign supervision in this area to reserve the space.

Home Team (higher seed) – EAST side of Stadium (press box side) Schools may reserve a section of the bleachers for their students, band, and

Schools may reserve a section of the bleachers for their students, band, and drill use.

SEATING CHANGE AFTER EACH GAMEInform your school community that after each game there will be an award presentation. After the presentation, all spectators wishing to remain for the next game should move to a seat outside the participating school area. Student sections, Bands and Drill teams are asked to vacate their seating area as quickly as possible to allow the next school to replace them.

ADA ACCOMMODATIONSThe Murdock Stadium offers accommodations for wheelchairs and for spectators with restricted mobility. The stadium features an elevator and ramps to access the lower level of the bleachers.

TEAM ENTRANCE15 wrist bands will be provide to each team for coaches and team support staff. All coaches and staff must wear wrist bands to be admitted access with the team. It is asked for all coaches and support staff to arrive together and be admitted at the same time. Student support personnel will not be issued a wrist band and will be allowed admittance if wearing an opposite color team jersey (maximum of 4). All personnel will be required to remain in the TEAM BOX AREA during the entire game (25 – 25 yard line). Only administrative staff and supervision staff will be allowed on the filed. It is the responsibility of the administrative staff to supervise their team and coaches and ensure that all coaches are wearing a wrist band and non-school personnel are relocated to the bleachers.

TEAMS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED INTO THE STADIUM WITHOUT ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF PRESENT.

TEAM UNIFORM COLORThe designated home team will wear their DARK colored uniforms, and the designated visitor will wear their WHITE uniform. Any team violating this requirement will be fined by the Section.

TEAM LOCKER ROOMSLocker rooms will be assigned at the Administration meeting on Monday, November 19. Special supervision by school staff must be planned while the teams are exiting and returning to the field from the locker rooms. Locker rooms are to be cleared of all personal belongings at the beginning of the game. Personal belongings should be brought to the team sideline. Teams will use the locker rooms at halftime but not return to the locker room after the game. It is the responsibility of school personnel to ensure the safety of all school and personal property.

TEAM ESCORTS – will meet with team upon arrivalTeam Escort are hired by the Section to provide support for each head coach to maintain the proper timing of the game. Escorts will meet with the head coach upon team arrival and shadow the team as necessary. The Escort will provide the following information:A game itinerary with event time line will be provided to the head coach upon arrival.

BAND, DRILL, CHEER ENTRANCEThe auxiliary groups will enter the stadium from the stadium tunnel entrance. Band Director, Drill and Cheer advisors (4 total) will be issued wrist bands AND MUST ACCOMPANY THEIR GROUPS ON FOR ADMISSION. Only students in uniform will be allowed admission. Only hand carried instruments will be allowed in the stadium. Halftime will be 15 minutes. Bands will have seating in the bleachers on their side of the field. Bands and Drills will enter the football field through the access points from the Bleachers. Home side field access is located near the main entrance. Visiting side field access is located at mid-field.

ADMINISTRATOR PASSESEach participation school will be issued ten (8) Championship All Access Passes to be distributed to administrators, athletic directors for admission and field access at the game. Two (2) media pass will be provided for school photographers. Two cheer advisors and the band advisor will receive a wrist bands for field access (total of 4). It is recommended that the school administration contact their Local District Superintendent and Directors to determine their game admission needs. Field access will be limited to Board Members, Central and Local Superintendents and Directors for the participating schools. Please make a courtesy call to your Superintendents to inquiry if they will be attending the game.

OTHER PASSESCoach’s wristband will allow access to the press box and return to the field.

Team Spotters - Both teams will be provided a coaches spotting booth in the press box. Home team coaches will be assigned the booth on the far left, visiting coaches will be assigned the booth on the next to the control booth.

Team Cameraman – It is recommended that the camera man film from the top of the bleachers, but will be allowed to film from any higher vantage point.

VIP HOSPITIALITYSandwiches, chips, soft drinks, and cookies will be complimentary for all VIP guest in the Press Box. Your All Access Passes will be used for hospitality access. Your pass will be punched once you have been served.

BLEACHER SUPERVISIONEight (8) complimentary admission tickets will be provided to each school for supervision. Each school is asked to plan a seating chart accordingly. During halftime, the concession area should also be considered.

ENTRANCE GATE FOR VENDORSSection Championship Apparel will be available near the spectator entrance to the stadium. The sale of school merchandise will not be allowed on the campus of El Camino College.

SIDELINE BEVERAGESGatorade is the Official Power Fuel of the CIF Los Angeles City Section, and will be the complimentary beverage provided to all teams during the championship game. Water can be brought by each school should they wish to drink water. Ice and water access will be available at the stadium.

FIELD CONDITIONSThe playing surface at the Murdock Stadium is Synthetic Turf, and is designed for consistent playing conditions in dry and wet weather. No seeds or food will be allowed on the field or sidelines. All players are to wear half inch (1/2”) cleats only.

FIELD ACCESSCoaches and school personnel must have a visible access pass or wrist band to access the playing field. A team handler will be assigned to each team to provide access information for the head coach. The itinerary timeline should provide near accurate information. All sideline equipment can be set on the track near the bleachers until your school has been given approval to access the field.

APPROPRIATE BEHAVIORAs a representative of your school, community and the CIF Los Angeles City Section, appropriate behavior and good sportsmanship are the expectation of all participants throughout the game without exception. During the game, players and coaches must remain in their assigned areas. School administrators are responsible for scheduling a team meeting during the championship week to be attended by all players and coaches, for the purpose of discussing appropriate and acceptable behaviors before, during and after the game in accordance with Rules and Regulations governing CIF events. Please communicate with your coaches, athletes, students, and community that this is a High School event and all rules that apply at school activities will be enforced. Schools personnel will be responsible for supervision and enforcement of school regulations.

SPECTATOR SUPERVISIONThis is a school activity and each school is responsible for supervision of their students and fans in their assigned seating area. SPECTATORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD AT ANY TIME. Anyone causing a disruption to the game or attempt to enter the field will be removed from the stadium and may be detained by the College Police.

SECURITY / POLICEThe El Camino Campus Police Department will be the agency responsible for addressing all safety issues that may arise during the game. The CIF LA City Section has hired Security personnel as first responders to any emergency in the stadium. LAUSD may provide additional police presence at their expense.

SECURITY PRESENCE ON THE FIELD DURING THE LAST FIVE MINUTES OF EACH GAME IS TO DISCOURAGE SPECTATORS FROM ENTERING THE FIELD.

MEDICAL STAFF (Field Pass)The medical staff is provided by the game management CIF Los Angeles City Section and will include professional emergency medical attendants as well as Sports Medicine and Sports Neurology Experts from Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute. All medial decisions to include concussion and injury return to play will be made by the medical team. An ambulance service will be on site and available as needed during the game. If your school will be providing a medical attendant for the game, you are asked to inform the medical staff at the beginning of the game to allow them to communicate the game protocol.

Athletic Directors will attend a required meeting with the CIF Medical Coordinator, Kirsten Farrell, thirty (30) minutes before the start of the contest in the field access tunnel on the north end of the stadium.

PRESS BOX ASSIGNMENTSA hospitality room will be hosted by the CIF Los Angeles City Section and will be located in the press box area.Press Box Assignments

GAME ANNOUNCERA game announcer will be provided by the game management. There will be required reading of a Welcome Message and Sponsorship obligations.National Anthem: Schools will be asked to confirm their ability to provide the following student groups. Schools with a Band are invited to play the national anthem prior to the game. They may stage behind the end zone 30 minutes prior to game time. The home team will have the option to have their JRROTC present the colors prior to the National Anthem. The home team’s band will enter the field from the scoreboard side. Bands may enter the field for the playing of the National Anthem at the conclusion of team introductions.

Halftime: Directors are to begin to stage their bands at opposite ends of the football field midway through the 2nd quarter. Each band will have 7 minutes to perform. One minute will be allowed for accessing the field and exiting the field for both bands. At the end of the contest, all band, drill, and cheer will exit through the same access points they entered from.

TEAM WARM UPTeams will be instructed at the championship meeting as to which side of the field they are to occupy for pre-game warm up. Teams may use the area between the 40 yard line and the end of the end zone for warm up. At no time will players or coaches be allowed within the 40 yard line during the warm up period. Athletic directors and administrators are required to assist with the enforcement of the restricted area during the warm up. No team will be allowed on the field without school administrators present. Any violation of the “No Fly Zone” will result in punitive action taken by the Section in the form of fines to the member school, loss of hosting playoffs or both.

TEAM INTRODUCTIONS10 minutes before kickoff teams will report to their respective locations at the North End goal post. The PA announcer will read the accomplishments of the team followed by the introduction the school principal and head coach. The team will then be directed to run to their sideline. The cheerleaders from each school will be allowed to form a chute on the field for the players to run through. At the completion of the run through, the cheerleaders are to immediately clear the field in the direction of their sideline. Any debris must be picked up. Cheer supervision are asked to assist with the alignment of the cheerleaders.

TEAM CHUTESSchools are allowed to set up a team run through chute provided that the chute is set up prior to the introductions in the designated area and removed immediately following the team introductions. No additional field passes will be provided for the set up.

TEAM BOX SUPERVISION – Principal, Assistant Principals and Athletic DirectorsAre to ensure only team members, coaches and support staff are in the team box. Any Media, Administrators and team guest with All Access Passes will be allowed outside the team box.

Any questions or concerns on the field see Section Staff or Team handlers on your sideline.

After introductions, team will align on their sideline for the playing of the National Anthem

A captains meeting will follow the National Anthem. Head Coaches are to escort their captains to the mid-field meeting.

A team that delays the start of the game will be assessed a 15 yard penalty for delay of game.

The athletic director will receive four (4) complimentary programs. Spectators will not be allowed behind the end zone area on either side of the field. Halftime is 15 minutes plus 3 for team warm up. Half time – Teams are to use the entrance nearest their locker rooms to access

locker rooms. Half time return to field, Three minutes will be put on the clock for team warm ups

once the home team has entered the field. Award Presentation will begin immediately following the team hand shake. The

home team will align on the 40 yard line to the score board side. The visiting team

will align on the 40 yard line opposite the score board. ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES ARE TO PARTICIATE IN THE AWARD CEREMONY UNTIL COMPLETED.

School Principal, and Head Coach will present the individual medals to the team captains. The Head coach will be presented the team award.

Media interviews will not be allowed until after the awards presentations. Make sure teams leave sideline area clean at end of game. Administrators are asked to assist with the team departure following the award

presentation. Teams exit the stadium through the tunnel access at the north end of the stadium.

MEDIA / PHOTOGRAPHERLos Angeles City Section Media Passes will be honored for field admission. For request form go to www.cif-la.org . Media personnel that have not requested Section media passes prior to the date of the event will be processed in the field access tunnel. Media identification from the local media outlet will be required for media passes. All media with field passes must be performing reporter or photographer responsibilities while on the field (there will be no exceptions to this policy).

PHOTOGRAPHERAll photographers on the field must remain behind the two yard restraining line during game time. During the award presentation, MaxPreps is the only photographers allowed to enter the presentation area. Photographers are asked for their cooperation during the award ceremony to allow for the players and schools to be reco

MEDIA INTERVIEWSNo accommodations for pre-game interviews have been made. Media, coaches and players are required to wait until after the awards presentation to conduct post-game interviews. Post-game interviews will be allowed off the field after the awards presentation.

Post-Game Interviews After the conclusion of the award presentation, all teams will exit through the stadium team access gate on the north end of the stadium to the home bleacher side. Media can interview coaches and players as they prepare to leave the field

The runner up principal and head coach will present medals to their captains. The head coach will be presented the runner up plaque. The principal and head coach from the champions will be introduced and present medals to their captains. The championship perpetual trophy will be presented to the head coach. The plaque will be presented to the principal.

Post-Game Interviews After the conclusion of the award presentation, all teams will exit through the stadium team access gate on the north end of the stadium to the home bleacher side. Media can interview coaches and players as they prepare to leave the field

At the conclusion of this contest, spectators are to remain in the stands and at no time are allowed on to the field. An awards ceremony will follow the traditional hand shake at the end of game. We invite all spectators to remain in the stands for the presentation of awards. Once again, we thank you for your support of High School Athletics.
