    Twitter is probably the biggest driver of quality traffic of all the social sites -

    if done properly.

    Here are 3 ways to help to drive as much traffic as possible back

    to your sites and offers.

    Know Your Audience

    It is fairly easy to set up a Twitter account, and not too difficult to get

    followers - however, the real challenge is finding targeted followers - people

    who really want to hear what you have to say, and are the most likely to

    become your customers. As Twitter grows, and as your followers grow,your messages can get lost very quickly. The more targeted your audience

    is, the more likely they are to actively seek out your tweets, to retweet and

    interact with you.

    There are different ways you can discover your target audience on Twitter.

    Who are the people who discuss the types of products and services that

    you offer?

    Twitters search function is a quick and easy way to discover people whoare talking about the kinds of things you offer. Real time searches for your

    keywords will find the people who are talking about what you offer. If

    people are regularly talking about the kinds of things you offer then follow

    them, interact with them and engage with them.

    Twitter users can organize followers into groups, or lists. Lists can be public

    or private, and if they are public you can view these lists, and see a stream

    of tweets from all the users included in that list. You can then add them to a

    list of your own, and this usually gets peoples attention and gets them to

    follow you.

    The lock symbol denotes a private group which no one else can access.

    When you use the # symbol in your tweets, your tweets are more likely to

    show in Twitter search. If you click on a hashtag, you can see all the tweets

    with this hashtag.

    So if you search for your keywords with hashtags, you will get a list of people

    talking about this hash tagged keyword, and you can add these people to

    your lists.

    Twilerts

    With Twilerts you can set up email alerts to be notified when your chosen

    keywords are mentioned to Google alerts. So you can discover new tweets

    and Tweeters to connect with, based on relevant keywords.

    Twellow

    The YellowPages for Twitter allows you to search by location, industry or

    keyword.

    Tweet Old Posts

    This is a really great Wordpress plugin which does exactly what it suggests- it tweets your old posts.

    This is automation at its best in my opinion. Set it up and your old posts will

    get tweeted automatically.

    Lets see how it works:-

    Find, install and activate the plugin in the usual way from your Wordpress

    dashboard.

    Authorize your account, and then you can decide on the tweet content and

    whether you want to show the title only, the body only or the title and the

    body. You can also add additional text at the beginning of the tweet, and

    opt to use a link.

    There are also a variety of link shorteners to choose from, and you can

    use hashtags.

    You can choose the interval between tweets, and the minimum and

    maximum age of the posts to be tweeted.

    You can even select which categories to use for the tweets, and you can

    exclude specific posts.

    So you are always promoting your blog content via Twitter totally

    automated

    Scheduling Tweets

    Before you start to automate your tweets, it is worth saying that you canautomate your content, but you cannot automate interaction and

    connecting in real time with other people, so make sure you do not make

    that mistake.

    You can write a tweet and have it sent out at a later time, but why would

    you want to do that?

    Maybe your audience is in a different time zone, or maybe you want to

    send your tweets at peak times, when you might not be available to do it

    live. Or you may simply want to spread out your tweets to get the most

    people seeing them, and maybe repeat them at intervals.

    There are many different services that allow you to schedule your tweets,

    here are some of them:-

    Hootsuite allows you to schedule tweets, and also updates from your other

    social sites too.

    You can view your stream of posts from multiple sites on one page.

    Future tweets

    Future tweets is an application that allows you to, as the name says,

    schedule tweets at a date in the future.

    Just for the Twitter platform.

    Tweriod

    Finally, Tweriod, which is slightly different, in that it is not a

    scheduling tool.

    It gives you the optimal times to tweet. It uses an algorithm to

    determine what the best times are for you to send your tweets, and

    when your followers will be the most receptive to them.

    Edit the content by entering the URL of your website in the box and the

    height you want to display

    When published you have your blog displayed right inside your Facebookpage.

    Alternatively you can choose to display a list of your blog posts, rather

    than the whole blog, and for this you can use an app called

    NetworkedBlogs.

    You can install this app on your page, and choose to either display

    your own blog or other blogs too.

    The About Section Of Your Page

    Be sure that your web addressis included and visible in the

    about section of your Facebook

    page. This allows visitors to

    find your blog easily. Facebook

    doesnt allow for the URL to be

    included on the cover photo, so

    this allows you to put it in the

    next most visible spot. I haveput the http:// before the

    address here, but you dont

    have to use that for it to be

    clickable.

    Note that you are allowed to

    have more characters in your

    about section, than are visible on the front of your page so make sure

    that the link is visible.

    Create Offers Only Available On Facebook

    You can consider creating special offers only available on Facebook.

    In addition to offering a great incentive for your fans to visit your website,

    it will also give them the feeling that theyre part of an exclusivecommunity.

    Give & Request Recommendations

    One of the best parts about LinkedIn is the recommendations feature

    where you can write recommendations for the people you're connected

    to, and you can send requests asking them to write recommendations

    about you.Recommendations are published with your LinkedIn profile and act as

    endorsements of your work, abilities, and so on. They're a great way toestablish your authority in your field or area of expertise. If thoserecommendations are related to your blog content or topic, then they can

    help build your reputation and drive traffic to your blog.

    LinkedIn also now have a feature called endorsements which dont carryquite as much weight as a recommendation.

    It is perfectly acceptable to ask for recommendations, and make sure you

    only ask someone who really does have direct experience of your work.

    You can even draft out the type of recommendation you are looking for.

    You really should be careful who you select to ask for a recommendation

    - I have had requests from people with whom I have had no direct

    contact, and I would never be happy to give a recommendation to

    someone with whom I have not worked.

    Also do not be afraid to refuse to give a recommendation if you feel you

    do not know enough about that person or their work.

    Dont forget the recommendation carries your name, and your

    endorsement of someone does reflect on you.

    When someone voluntarily gives you a recommendation, it is often in the

    hope that you will return the favour. Again, only do so if you have direct

    knowledge of the person and their work.

    Utilise Your Website Listings

    Under theWebsitessection of your LinkedIn profile, you can have upto 3 listed.

    Choose the Other option when setting up each of theselinks and describe the links to your brand with relevant terms. For

    example, rather than using the terms my website, I use 10 Days to

    Get Social to advertise my free offer.I also use all 3 links, with one linking to my Facebook page.

    Use An Add To Circles Button On Your Blog

    There are many buttons and widgets you can add to your blog but Isuggest the add to circles widget as a good option to encourage

    readers tofollow you over to Google Plus, where you can add different

    types of content, to engage your readers and keep them coming back

    for more.

    Use A Pin Description

    Create keyword rich descriptions for your pins. In addition also use keywordrich board titles and descriptions.

    Pinterest users can search by two factors - keyword inclusion and how

    recent the pin was pinned. You cant really repin the same pin over and

    over in order to keep it active in your followers feeds, but you can affect

    how searchable the pin is, so try to increase your pins searchability. The

    pin description is probably the second most vital part of any pin on

    Pinterest. The most important part should of course be the image itself.

    There is a 500-character limit, and written descriptions of the picturesare key if you wish your images to get found in the larger Pinterest

    community.

    When writing a description for your new pin, optimize the pin by adding

    keywords that will describe your image and your brand. If it fits, also try

    to put in your brand name.

    When others repin this pin, your optimized description will automatically

    auto-populate in the post, helping to get it found

    Add A Pin It Button To Your Website

    To add a pin it button go to Pinterest and click on the about tab and you

    will see Pin It Button in the drop down box.

    On the next page click on make a pin it button. Here you can get the

    code to add to your website.

    However if you have a Wordpress site, then you can use a plugin:-

    Add Pinnable Images To Every Blog Post

    Create unique images for every blog post - consider the purchase of thefantastic Logo Creator, which I simply could not live without!

    With this software I can very easily and quickly create my own unique

    images - no worries about copyright.

    Add a large image to every blog post and dont forget to add your web

    address in the image.

    Locate a pin it button right underneath the image and encourage readersto share. Some Wordpress plugins even allow you to display a pin it

    button on the image itself.

    Make it easy for people to pin and they will.

    Add A Website Link In Your Description

    A YouTube video's description appears beneath the video each time

    someone watches it.

    YouTube doesn't allow HTML tags in descriptions, but you can insert a

    URL to another website in the description. YouTube will automatically

    convert that URL into a clickable link.

    Simply login to your YouTube account, click your username and select

    Video Manager.

    Select the video and click the edit button.

    Type the URL in the description box including the http://

    Hit save changes and your video description now has a clickable link

    back to the site of your choice.

    Use Annotations

    On YouTube the use of annotations can make your video stand out formthe crowd.

    You might want to add a simple call to action of some sort, like

    subscribe. However you cannot make them a clickable link.

    Go to your YouTube account and click on video manager and select the

    video to edit

    There are 5 types of annotation:-

    1.The speech bubblewhich you can use to put text in peoplesmouths.

    2. Noteswhich are simple rectangular boxes.

    3.Titlesadd a title to your video.

    4.Spotlightsare, as the name suggests, used to highlight a

    specific area.

    5.Labelsadd a different type of text box

    All can be customised as far as colour and size goes, and you

    select when you want the annotations to appear and disappear.
