Program Curriculum
Tuition and FeesCSM tuition is priced competitively and significant financial aid is available to graduate students. Please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. College of Saint Mary’s financial aid code is 002540. Many organizations offer tuition reimbursement benefits to their employees. Please contact your human resources department for information.
Program Highlights• Designed for working professionals who want to advance themselves and their careers, this doctoral degree is earned in 84 semester credit hours (inclusive of accepted master’s credits) and is delivered in a hybrid format, meeting three to six times per semester with Web-based enhancements.
• The Health Professions emphasis prepares you to teach in higher education and health care settings while developing your leadership skills.
• The Educational Leadership emphasis prepares you for leadership and teaching in P-12 or college and university environments.
• Develops quantitative and qualitative research skills in a rigorous yet supportive academic environment.
• Both emphases are open to men and women.
• Applications are accepted throughout the year. Full- and part-time options are available.

All courses are 3 credits with the exception of the Doctoral Seminar which is 1 credit and the Dissertation which is 12 credits.

The Ed.D. course of study combines the benefits of
academic excellence with the flexibility of hybrid course
offerings. The rigorous curriculum will allow you the
opportunity and time to analyze real life issues and make
sound conclusions based on research. To complement
the strong analytical component of the program and
the Web-based enhancements, our faculty engages in an ongoing dialogue with you and your peers, fostering a
culture of active scholarship.
The docket of our successes is extensive. In the past three years alone, our students have authored six books
and articles in numerous scholarly journals; won two national research awards; presented regionally, nationally and
internationally; written two grants; and were promoted nine times—including one Dean, one Director of Graduate
Programs, and one Assistant Professor. This atmosphere of academic excellence and engaged leadership is
reflected in our faculty, students, alumnae, and outcomes.
