Tip: You may cut your center squares at 4-3/4” x 4-3/4” or 5” x 5”. It will slightly affect the size of your finished quilt, but the middle and outside squares can remain 6” x 6”.
- Cut all of the “middle” squares in half twice diagonally and all of the “outside” squares in half once diagonally.

Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Make the Blocks
You may use the quilt assembly diagram on page 6 as a reference when matching up your block fabrics, or mix them up as you like. Be sure to match up fabrics to
create contrast between the center, middle and outside squares.
- Sew two Fabric N “middle” triangles to opposite sides of a Fabric D square. Press seam allowances towards Fabric N. Trim corners of Fabric N to true up the edges.

half and finger press a crease into the center. Then match the centers so that the triangle points stay centered.

- Sew two Fabric N “middle” triangles to the remaining two edges of the Fabric D square. Press seam allowance towards Fabric N.
- Trim Fabric N on all sides, so that there is a 1/4” of seam allowance past the Fabric D points. The block will measure about 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” at this point.

- Sew two Fabric S “outside” triangles to opposite sides of the block. Press seam allowances towards Fabric S. Trim corners of Fabric S to true up the edges.
- Sew two Fabric S “outside” triangles to the remaining two edges of the block. Press seam allowance towards Fabric S.
- Trim Fabric S on all sides, so that there is a 1/4” of seam allowance past the Fabric N points. The block will measure 8-1/2” x 8-1/2”.
If your block doesn’t measure 8-1/2” square, it’s ok. As long as your seam allowances are consistant and all your
blocks are finishing at the same measurements, the quilt top will work out.
Repeat Step 1 to make a total of sixty-three blocks.
