• Your table is your group. No, you may not switch groups.
• You will be graded on your participation in your group based on my observations
• I will call on people randomly from each group, be prepared to answer
• When the alarm goes off, stop talking and bring your focus to me
Ecology• What do you know about ecology?
• On the top half of the first page of your new INB (handed out), work with your group to define the words on the top of the page.
• Do not use any resources, just what you think the words mean.
• Do not go past the line in the middle of the page (you may need to write small)
You are the teachers!• With your group, use the Biology text book
to look up and define the words that your teacher gives you.• Write these definitions in the space below the
line• Pick a person to be the EXPERT – this person
will go to each of the other groups and explain the words from his group (make sure the EXPERT understands the words).
• When an EXPERT comes to your group, you listen to them and write the definitions for the words they are teaching you

What is Ecology?• Ecology is the study of interactions between
organisms and their environment.
