With the hype in the reinsurance world and so many things happening in the Middle East, the time is right to launch the Dubai Rendezvous. With the launch of the DIFC Insurance Association, with Lloyd’s choosing to set up its regional hub in Dubai and the DFSA fine-tuning
its rules, and the dynamic changes in the global reinsurance market place, there is much to talk about at the Rendezvous.With the ongoing financial crisis, regulatory changes, the looming talent gap, climate change, rising terrorism and political unrest and risks, global
pandemics and cyber security, the industry needs to understand the risks and adapt efficiently to meeting the ever-challenging demands in future.This first Dubai Rendezvous, supported by the DIFC, and co-branded with the Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA), will have several
key panels, as well as sessions looking at the critical juncture of the reinsurance market in the Middle East as well as assess what more can be done to make Dubai a reinsurance hub, and examine why hubs thrive and draw business especially in reinsurance, drawing from the expertise in Bermuda, London, Zurich & Singapore and other regional hubs, while providing ample time and space and opportunities for networking which underscores the success of any rendezvous.
The Rendezvous, with morning sessions having high level quality presentations and panels, will set aside the afternoons for intensive bilateral negotiations within a Lloyd’s Café concept.
