FLOWING FESTIVAL 18 – 19 February 2017 SATURDAY 18TH –TWILIGHT RACE (2km Turn) & SUNDAY 19 TH - LAKE JINDABYNE DRAGON BOAT CHALLENGE ENTRY FORM – Sports Clubs Venue: Banjo Paterson Park, Kosciusko Road, Lake Jindabyne Distance Saturday 18th 2000m turn race (1st, 2nd and 3rd place only/winner will be based on the fastest time) Sunday 19th 200 metres (sprints) – 2 heats + final per category (depending upon numbers) Entry fees : Saturday 18 th - Twilight Race (2km turn)- $10 pp Sunday 19 th - $25 per person (adults) and $10 per person (juniors) which covers more than one category i.e. mixed and women Note: All paddlers in the team must pay entry fee including drummer and steerer. Category Definitions 20’s Crews : minimum of 16 paddlers to a maximum of 20 paddlers + 4 reserves plus drummer and steerer 10’s Crews: minimum of 8 paddlers to a maximum of 10 paddlers + 2 reserves plus drummer and steerer Sports Mixed Crews: Minimum 12 years of age (no maximum age) Min 16 paddlers to maximum 24 paddlers in a crew list Drummer and steerer can be either gender Minimum 2 to maximum 10 males (however if club has 4 males parcipang all 4 must be on crew list and must race in heats and final) (2 clubs can combine 50/50) Junior Mixed Crews: Minimum of 5 male paddlers to maximum of 10 paddlers (excl. drummer and steerer) Drummer and steerer can be either gender. All paddlers aged 12-17 years. Sports Women’s Crews: Minimum 12 years of age (no maximum age) Min 16 paddlers to maximum 24 paddlers in a crew list Drummer and steerer must be female 2 clubs can combine 50/50 Sports Men 10’s Crews: Minimum 8 to maximum 12 paddlers on a crew list All paddlers must be male Drummer and steerer can be either gender Clubs may combine to form crews (maximum 3 club combinaon). Drummer and steerer must be from one of the 3 clubs. Clubs who have 8 to 10 paddlers of their own must compete as their own club Must have all Male paddlers (drummer/steerer can be either gender) Masters Mixed Crews: Minimum of 5 male paddlers to maximum of 10 paddlers (excl. drummer and steerer).Drummer and steerer can be either gender. All paddlers must be over 40 years (as of first day of regaa) Please indicate on entry form. (Note: sports and masters will be raced together in the heats) Note: Clubs with 2 crews entering more than one team in the same category (up to 4 paddlers can be interchanged between crews). They must be the same 4 paddlers which includes drummer/steerer. All teams must use a DBNSW/ DBACT/DBV accredited steerers. All steerers must have their names recorded by the Chief Marshall. Level 2 steerers must wear the orange safety vests. Clubs must provide their own Steerers. (If for some reason a club can’t provide their own Steerer they can borrow a level 2 steerer from another club). Compulsory for all Team Members to wear current membership cards. Due to time constraints, (Sports Mixed) and Masters will be raced together in the heats. (3) Schools are able to enter into the sports men and sports women categories for additional racing experience.

Conditions of Entry: abide by the race rules and requirements of the event organisers whose decision in all matters relating thereto and to the suitability and eligibility of applicants is final and binding; waiver any claim on the event organisers which may otherwise arise from personal injury or death and damage arising from or caused by participation in the competition, reimburse the event organisers for any damages or losses caused by the entrant to equipment provided by the event organisers, utilise only equipment and fittings provided or required by the event organisers. (Paddles will be supplied if teams do not have own) Padding or gripping material is not permitted (wax is permitted). all teams are to use a DBNSW/DB ACT/DBV accredited steerer. Steerers will be provided upon request to the organisers prior to the event only. every member of the paddling team must be able to swim 50 metres or otherwise wear a buoyancy vest, any protests must be lodged in writing and accompanied by $200 cash protest fee within 15 minutes of completion of the protested race. The protest fee is only refundable if the protest is successful.

Qualifying for Finals Points are allocated on placings in heat results and added together to form finals qualifications. If more than 6 teams qualify, the times of teams on equal points will be added to identify the 4-6 fastest qualifying teams.

Rules of Racing AusDBF Race rules and Regulations with NSW local By-lawsSafety: (1) This regatta is a DBNSW sanctioned event and the club will appoint a

Regatta Safety Officer to advise the Chief Race Official on all matters relating to the safety of participants, officials, spectators and others present at the venue. The name of the Regatta Safety Officer will be advised at the Team Captains' briefing at the commencement of racing. Adherence to safety-related instructions from either the Regatta Safety Officer or the Chief Race Official is mandatory

(2) Nothing in (1) above:a. removes the responsibility for Clubs to do all in their power to

ensure the safety of participants, officials, spectators and others present at the venue - safety is everyone's responsibility; and

b. affects the right of Clubs and Steerers to adopt a more risk averse approach to specific situations, nor does it affect the responsibilities of the steerer for the safety of his or her crew.

Steerers: Only State accredited steerers. ‘L2 steerers’ must wear orange vests. All steerers must have their names recorded with the marshall for every race

First Aid: St Johns Ambulance personal will be on duty (Marine Rescue)Clean-up: All teams are requested to clean up their area at the end of the day.Security: Teams are responsible for the security of their valuables.
