Dragon Boat Race 龍舟競賽• The boat race during the Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional custom to try to rescue the patriotic poet Chu Yuan.• 龍舟競賽是端午節的傳統習俗，當時是為了營救愛國詩人屈原。

Rice Dumplings 粽子• The Chinese threw bamboo leaves

filled with cooked rice into the river. By doing so ,the fish could eat the rice rather than the heroic poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating rice dumplings.

• 中國居民將竹葉包滿熟飯丟入水裡。因此，魚可以吃米飯，而不是英雄詩人。這後來也變成了每年端午節吃粽子的習俗

Chang - Er Flees to the Moon

Long time ago , the sky was lit by ten suns . So it’s very hot and rivers dried up.

China's most famous archer, Hou Yi, shot down nine of the suns with his arrows so that people could live happily.

He did it successfully. Soon he became the king and married Chang-Er.

However, he wasn’t a good king for his people.

Once he got a panacea , By taking the panacea he never die.

Chang-Er worried that people would suffer if Houyi had became immortal.

So, she took the pill and jump out of the window . Amazingly, she didn’t fall to the ground but flied to the moon.

The people remembered what Chang-Er did for them, so they celebrate the day as a holiday, and that is now the Mid-Autumn Festival.
