WHAT IS CULTURE?The behaviors and beliefs characteristic ofa particular social, ethnic, country or agegroup.
So, then, what is dining etiquette culture?
The ways in which a particular country
behaves or are believed to behave while
dining.
Let the battle Begin…
In the next slides we will tell about various
countries and the dining etiquette culture
they exhibit in comparison to America.
In this Corner…
AMERICA
Eat raw vegetables (for example: celery,
carrots, and cucumbers
CHINA
Do not eat raw vegetables (always disinfect the vegetables by boiling
them first)

Do not slurp soup
CHINA
Slurp soup in order to cool and show appreciation
of the food.
JAPAN

AMERICA AND FINLAND
Breakfast is the most important meal of the
day; usual lunchtime is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. And dinner is often between 5 p.m. and 7
p.m.
