Development Process for Logo Before creating my log, I researched a few examples of existing logos in the hope to create my own. During my research, I first of all researched the term literacy, and its relevance to the English language. After extensive research into logos, and designs for logos, I realised that an eye incorporated into a book or a variation would make an interesting concept. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and the following series of screenshots shows my steps along the way. 1. First I opened Adobe Illustrator, selected new on the navigation panel along the top of my screen and set my dartboard size to 250px by 250px. As I will be creating a vector image, this logo can be resized without significant loss of quality, allowing me to use it on other designs.

Development Process for LogoBefore creating my log, I researched a few examples of existing logos in the hope to create my own. During my research, I first of all researched the term literacy, and its relevance to the English language. After extensive research into logos, and designs for logos, I realised that an eye incorporated into a book or a variation would make an interesting concept. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and the following series of screenshots shows my steps along the way.1. First I opened Adobe Illustrator, selected new on the navigation panel along the top of

my screen and set my dartboard size to 250px by 250px. As I will be creating a vector image, this logo can be resized without significant loss of quality, allowing me to use it on other designs.

2. Using the shape tool, I created a circle as the foundation of my logo, by holding in CTRL+Transform tool, I was able to size the circle to an appropriate size, without losing its shape.

3. Next, I created a straight line using the line tool, setting the stroke to the same as my circle shape at 10pt., using the perspective tool, at warped the line into an arc and duplicated the layer, flipping it vertically, and aligning it parallel with the previous original layer.

4. To give my shape a more appropriate look of an eye, I created two small rounded rectangular shapes, and placed them adjacent to each other, at each end of the eye piece shape.

5. Using the cycle shape tool, and holding CTRL+Transform, I applied the same preset for a shape that would serve as the centre piece of the eye inspired logo.

6. To add more depth and detail into the logo, I applied the same step again, this time sizing down the circle shape and changing the colour overlay to white using the paint drop tool on the tool panel to the left of the screen.

7. I duplicated the circle, sized it down again and placed it in the middle of the logo.

8. I then used the rectangle shape tool to add a border to my logo.

9. I duplicated this layer and rotated it at an angle to add more detail to the logo.

The logo can be saved as an illustrator file or as a vector.
