Introduction

Music Information Retrieval (MIR) deals with study of musical repertoires and concepts using computational methodologies. Given that much of music and the related industry and products are going online, the field of MIR has begun to gain significant importance.

The task of musical note detection, one of the fundamental tasks in both Hindustani and Carnatic genres of Indian classical music.

Here we are dealing with method in which we are giving musical input though the prototype of harmonium

Objective

The main aspiration is to detect the musical notes in Hindustani and Carnatic music.

To lock the different frequencies using the PLL’s, this can be used to detect the musical notes.

The detection of musical notes will take more time for the beginners.

ConclusionFuture scope1. This can be further implemented for different

frequencies for detection of raga.2. Based on the pitch extraction, we can use this for

different users with different vocals.

Advantages1. Ease of extracting the musical note.2. Helps beginners in self-assessment of Indian classical

music.
