    Some of the slides in this demonstration haveblue un-numbered text.

    This text comes from the example exam which I

    have used for this demonstration. Unless I have stated otherwise the following

    slides demonstrate how to carry out theinstructions in blue.

    Some instructions are similar to skills previouslydemonstrated so you will be asked to completesuch instructions independently.

    You are going to create and edit

    a presentation for this company.

    The medium for delivery will bea multimedia projector. You will

    need to produce presenter

    notes and audience notes with

    the slides.

    Set up a new presentation consisting of 3

    slides. The slide master must have a verylight blue background and your name and

    todays date in a small black font placed in

    the bottom left corner. It must also contain aclipart image of a tree as a logo placed in

    the top right corner.

    The logo must be resized so that it will not

    overlay any text or graphics on any slide.Include the slide number in the bottom right

    of the footer.

    1. (a) Create a folder forthis demonstratione.g. My Documents ICT PresentationAuthoringDemonstration.(b) Download the filesbelow the link for this

    demonstration and savethem in the folder justcreated.

    2. Launch MicrosoftPowerPoint.

    3. Save it in the folder youcreated abovee.g. PresentationAuthoring Demo

    4. Click the Insertmenu and click the

    New Slide option.Repeat this until youhave 3 slides (2normal + the title

    slide).5. Click the View

    menu, move to theMasteroption and

    click the SlideMasteroption in thesub-menu.

    6. Click the Formatmenu and click the

    Background option.7. Click the colour drop

    down menu, click avery light blue colour

    and click Apply toAll.

    8. Click the edge oftext box in the

    bottom left corner ofthe slide.

    10.Click the Insertmenu and click the

    Date and Time

    option.

    11.Make sure the

    language is English

    (U.K.) from the drop

    down menu.

    menu, move to the

    Picture option and

    click the Clip Art

    option.

    Type tree in theSearch for box in the

    Clip Art toolbar

    which has opened

    on the right.15.Click Go, double

    click an image.

    16.Resize the image

    using the resizing

    handles place it in

    the top right corner

    so it does not cover

    any text.

    option.

    25. The heading settings made to the master slide should

    be inherited but if it isnt set yourself now.

    26. Click the edge of the sub-heading text box and set todark blue font colour, left aligned and 32 point font size.

    set to black font colour, left aligned and 18

    point font size.

    still selected, click

    the Format menu

    and click the Bullets

    and Numberingoption.

    point style and click

    35. Press enter to create a new line below the bulleted list

    and click the bullets icon in the Formatting toolbar to

    remove the bullet point.

    36. Enter the text and for all environments: as

    instructed (PowerPoint will probably autocorrect the lower caseletter a at the beginning to a capital, go back with the left arrow

    key and correct this).

    37.Click the first slide.

    38.Select the subheading text and click the

    Format Painter icon in the Standard toolbar.

    40. Select the text and for all environments:

    Click at the end of this line outside this text todeselect it.

    The text should now be in the style of a

    subheading.

    41. Press enter to create a new line below the text and

    for all environments: click the bullets icon in the

    Formatting toolbar to start a bulleted list again.

    42. Enter the text the bulleted list as shown (use the

    Format Painter icon in the Standard toolbar to change

    the style to the same as the first bulleted list).

    (Because you were asked for a thin line then you dont

    need to change the thickness. But just so you know

    you can change the thickness here).

    Both bulleted lists should haveeach bullet set to appear one at

    a time using thesame animation effect. No other

    elements of the slide should be

    animated.

    Using a suitable software package, load thefile SPECIMEN7.CSV

    Create a bar chart from the data using only

    the names of the trees and their price. Do

    not include a legend. Add the label Species

    to the category axis and Price () to the

    value axis. Make sure that all of the tree

    names are visible.Place this bar chart on the right side of the

    slide.

    54. Copy the file SPECIMEN7.CSV (Students / ICT / IGCSE /

    PowerPoint Demonstration) into the folder you are currently

    working in.

    55. Open this file.

    56. Select the Name and Price columns only (click the

    column headers and hold down the Ctrl key when

    clicking the Price column.

    Animation option.

    Choose an animation.

    Click the Start: drop down menu and choose

    With Previous

    This is so that the title comes in with the animation

    you choose before the rest of the slide contents and

    not after.

    Do the same for the title box of the

    Title Master.
