Numbers of Interest:
Numbers do not tell us everything. Nor are they the final answer. But we can learn from what we see and what we can measure.
Our prayer is that this box will constantly show a growing church.

WELCOME VISITORS!
We are thankful you are with us today as we worship our God and Savior. Our prayer is that you will encounter Him today.
A nursery for small children is available in the east hall off the lobby.
What will you experience at Westview?
Praise through song. It is the tradition of our heritage to sing a cappella (without instruments) as we encourage everyone to be involved in uplifting praise.
We value the Bible. You will hear God’s Word read and all sermons will give the utmost respect and priority to Scripture.
We share the Lord’s Supper every week remembering Christ’s sacrifice that provides us forgiveness as we celebrate our salvation through Him.
We do not expect our guests to give financially to our work. We depend on the generous and godly giving of all Westview members to provide the funds needed to implement God’s plans for this church.
We invite you to stay for Bible classes following our worship time. We hope you have been blessed today!
The adult Christmas party is this Saturday evening, the 9th. We will begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite holiday snack, dish, or finger food. It is a white elephant gift party
so bring an appropriate wrapped gift as well. This is a good opportunity to invite guests as we always have a lot fun and enjoy the sea-
son’s very best spirit of the holidays. We hope you’ll join us.

It has been a while…. Commentary from a common Terry
It has been quite a while since I’ve shared with you a forty days study. I don’t so much think it was burnout as it was a season in my life that had too many demands and too little time, which prevented me from giving the kind of attention to the writing that it needed. That season, thankfully is past. We have a new 40-days study to share, beginning in January. The goal is to begin on Sunday, January 7th. We will distribute study books the pre-ceding two weeks. Have you noticed how many peo-ple there are surrounding you? Even if your life is pretty simple, not designed to meet a multitude of folks, you still cross paths with so many individuals. Everyone from family to neighbors to church friends to people you do busi-ness with—you meet people. Some are a lot like you. Many are not. Some are enjoyable, fun, and easy to be around. Some aren’t. And yet, with every encounter, God is giv-ing you another opportunity to repre-sent Him. His light pours into your very core and then is to be reflected in these relationships, from the most cas-ual to the most intimate. We are to shine. It is not our light. It is His light that this world needs. We do not need to dislocate a shoulder as we try to pat ourselves on the back. Instead, we need His Spirit to give us the strength to constantly allow our lives to point upward. And does this world certainly need His hope! Our world has never been more complex. Our world has never been more confusing. In spite of man’s “advancements,” we are becom-ing more and more isolated, discour-aged, frustrated, and angry. Lines are being drawn in fury and resentment. In spite of the language of “tolerance”
that has permeated society in recent years, we are anything but patient and considerate toward those not like us. (I’m speaking in generalities about hu-mans, not necessarily about you and me specifically in this observations.) What should we do? Isolate our-selves or enter the battlefield as it is currently shaped? This complex world needs the simplicity of God’s love. This frustrated world needs the peace of God’s pres-ence. This angry world needs the calm of God’s Spirit. This can only come through God’s people, If ever there has been a more challenging time in our lives to shine, I don’t know when it would have been. Darkness needs light. I believe there’s a lot of dark corners and rooms in our world. God can change that when God’s people take up the minis-try of representing the One Who has offered to a lost and fallen world spir-itual reconciliation . It’ll begin with us—to reevaluate how we see “those people.” We are challenged to see “those people the way God sees them. Our foundation will be II Corinthi-ans 5:16. I hope you’ll read not just that verse, but chapters 3, 4, and 5.
Love one another,
The next Men’s Coffee is this Tuesday morning, the 5th, from 6 to 8 a.m. There are three more coffees this year before we take a break. We hope you’ll join us.
MSCH change cans are due today. Thank you for your generous support of their ministry.
Congratulations to Stefen Gomes!
Stefen will graduate from UNC next Satur-
day, the 9th. He will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications studies with a minor in Sociology. Commence-ment is at 12:30 at the Butler Hancock Athletic Center. You are invited to a celebration in his honor at Chris & Toni’s huse. It will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. that afternoon. Please RSVP to Toni by tomorrow if you plan to attend. Be sure to congratulate Stefen and keep him and his family in your prayers as they move into the future.
Love Offering Next Sunday
Each year we take up a love offering for Westview’s ministers. We appreciate the work and dedication the
Newtons and the Martinezes give to this congregation. This is your opportunity to say thank you with this gift.
We will have a second collection next Sunday, the 10th, during our morning worship assembly.

Schedule Adjustments
the end of the month
The schedule always changes a bit the end of the year due to the holidays. There are two things to be aware of as we head toward the end of the month. First, on Sunday the 24th, we will not
have classes. Instead, we will have a Christmas worship service at 10 a.m. (We will have coffee, juice, and sweet treats, beginning at 9 a.m.) And second, we will not have Bible classes on Wednes-
day night, the 27th.
