VATAYANI INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ICETET-13 organised by GHRCE Nagpur ICETET-13 6 th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering & Technology was inaugurated on 16 th December 2013 at Hotel Sun-n- Sand Nagpur. ICETET-13 was organized by G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering & GHR Labs & Research Center under TEQIP-II. The general chairs of the conference were Dr.Preeti Bajaj-Director GHRCE & Dr. Koji Murai, Kobe University Japan. Conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr.V.S.Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University. Dr. Abhay Wagh, Deputy Secretary, Department of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Dr.Valentina Balas, University of Arad-Romania, Dr.Mahesh Kumar Yenkie-Pro-VC Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University Dr.R.V.Kshirsagar, Dean -Faculty of Engg & Technology,Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University, Dr K K Dhote-Executive Director, Raisoni Group of Institutions, Dr.Preeti Bajaj- Director GHRCE & general chair ICETET-13 were also present during the Inaugural Ceremony. IEEE is the World’s apex technical society. It is having largest membership strength. SMCS is Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society is the technical committee of IEEE which aims at development of systems engineering technology including problem definition methods, modeling, and simulation, methods of system experimentation, human factors engineering, data and methods, systems design techniques and test and evaluation methods. Worldwide various Universities, Technical Institute are organizing Conferences, Seminars, Workshop and other activities under IEEE SMCS. Very few Indian Institutes have organized the International Conference which is technically sponsored by IEEE SMCS. The inaugural programme began with the achievements and journey of ICETET-13 through a Video. In her inaugural address, Dr.Preeti Bajaj, General Chair ICETET-13 summarized journey of ICETET. ICETET-13 has provided a platform for the young academicians to exhibit their research work and conveyed to august gathering about having pleasure to host the veteran researchers from all over the globe. She further quoted that ICETET has become an International brand. She also quoted that research should not have any boundaries of Institute, state and nation. She also briefed regarding the Ph.D Colloquia which is scheduled alongwith ICETET-13. Dr V. S. Sapkal congratulated the Institute for the achievements, he said that Institute is successful in running Autonomy, he congratulated the Institute regarding the Patents of the Institute and for achieving the objectives of Higher Education. He also talked about the globalization in education, technological developments for common man, need for research, University’s efforts for raising the quality of technical education. Dr. Abhay Wagh highlighted the initiatives of the Government of Maharashtra, Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme. He also commented on the economy development, Industrial Service and Agricultural Sector. He said that, more exchange of International thoughts should be carried out and more patents should be commercialized if India wants to be super power in 2020 it can be done through Knowledge Based Economy. More joint research project should be undertaken and he appealed the authors to undertake live research problems. Dr. Valentina Balas congratulated the Institute for the achievements. The Innovation Gallery was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Valentina Balas, Arad University, Romania. The Innovation Gallery is a unique gallery depicting all the innovative projects which were filed for patent under GHR Labs and Research Centre. After the inauguration of Innovation Gallery Plenary Session was also conducted by Dr. Valentina Balas. She has shown a concept of Z-mouse which is the latest invention in the Fuzzy Area and the concept was also highlighted.

After the exuberant Inauguration, ICETET-13 witnessed high quality Invited talks & Technical Sessions by International Luminaries and researchers on Day two. Dr.R.P.Mohanty- Vice Chancellor, Shiksha `O' Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, delivered Invited Talk on “How to write good Doctoral Thesis and deliver pre-submission seminar”. It was a center of attraction for the research scholars. Dr.Swagatam Das-Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata delivered 2nd Invited Talk on “SwarmIntelligence”. He elaborated the collective behavior of decentralized, self-organized systems, natural or artificial. The concept is employed in work on artificial intelligence.It was followed by Technical sessions on Industrial Engineering, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Network Security and Forensics.A Keynote was delivered by Dr.L.C.Jain, Australia on “Advances in Intelligent Paradigms and Applications in Engineering & Science” Dr.Tadahiko Murata, Kansai University – Japan delivered Invited Talk on “Mechanism of Quality Deterioration in Market with Asymmetric Information: How to Keep Goods Quality?”. In thistalk, he discussed regarding the detailed simulation results on Lemon Market that George Akerlof, 2001 Nobel Prize recipient in Economics, introduced. Lemon market is a market with asymmetric information between sellers and buyers.It was followed by Technical Sessions on Intelligent Systems, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Data Mining and Cloud Computing.

Day three of ICETET-13 also witnessed the Invited Talks and Technical presentations by researchers. The conference programme started with the Technical sessions on Wireless Sensor Networks, Soft Computing, Power Electronics & Power Systems.It was followed by Invited Talk on “Emerging trends in image processing : IDH Application” by Dr.Mukesh Zaveri, SVNIT Surat. He explained the design issues, constraints and applications related to IDH technology. He also elaborated the IDH technology with case studies.

Then the technical presentations on Wireless Sensor Networks, Soft Computing & Modern Electric Drives & Control were scheduled.

Dr.Koji Murai-Kobe University Japan delivered Invited talk on “Analysis of a Mariner's Performance using Large Model Sensor and Physiological Index”. In his talk he focused on various physiological indices in the world like heart rate variability (R-R interval), nasal temperature, and salivary amylase.

He elaborated that these are exactly good indices but cannot represent quick response on the spot and the trend like a moving average as well as salivary NO3.

Dr.Sudip Mishra- IIT Kharagpur delivered Invited Talk on “Recent Research Trends in Underwater Sensor Networks”. He also focused on worldwide research going on in sensor networks. He gave numerous examples to illustrate the sensor network technologies used for underwater applications.

It was followed by Technical Sessions on Signal Processing & Pattern Recognition, Intelligent Transportation Systems & VLSI/MEMS.

Then the “Best PhD Track paper award” was given to Sonali Nimbhorkar for best Ph.D. work and Dharmendra Yadav for best Ph.D. Presentation. Alongwith them four more Awards were given to Abhay Kshirsagar, Prerna Shrivastava, Aruna Tete & K.D. Joshi. Special appreciation award were given to Kenichi Kitamura & Takuya Harada from Kobe University, Japan. There were total 138 presentations held during three days conference and Ph.D. Colloquia.

Those who have put in untiring efforts since last one year to happen this event are Dr.P.R.Bajaj, Dr. Amol Deshmukh, Dr.Santosh Jaju, Prof. K.D.Joshi and many others.

National Conference on “Advances in Renewable Energy Engineering” NCAREE-13, was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur on 3rd and 4th Dec. 2013, in association with Solar Energy Society Of India(SESI) and GHR Labs and Research, Nagpur, The conference was inaugurated on 3rd Dec.2013. at the hands of Dr. Anil Misra, Sr. Program Advisor, Indo-German Energy Program, GIZ-India, New Delhi. Seated on the dais were Dr. V.M.Kriplani, the convener of the conference, Dr. P.V.Walke, Head of Department, Dr.S.B. Jaju, Dean(R&D) and TEQIP Co-ordinator, Dr.P.R.Bajaj, the Director of the Institute, Dr. K.K.Dhote, Executive Director, RGI, Dr. P.B.Nagarnaik, Dy. Director and Dean (Academics) and Dr. A.Y.Deshmukh , Dean (Planning).

The key note address was delivered by Dr. Anil Misra and topic was “Integration of large scale renewable in Indian electricity system”

Total no. of Papers selected and registered were 31 and of which 28 were presented during three technical sessions.

The students of Mechanical Engineering, GHRCE Nagpur have participated in prestigious event AVISHKAR-2013 State Level Inter University Innovative project Competition at RTMNU Nagpur on 3rd and 4th January2014, Student of Mechanical Engineering Department are demonstrate their develop machine titled “Design and Development castor seed extraction Machine” This machine is developed by final year student Mr. Nitin Galanede, Mr. Palash Madamwar,

Mr. Swapnil Malapure and Mr. Swapnil Chaudhary under the guidance of Prof. Nilesh Awate, Assistant Professor , Department of Mechanical Engineering , GHRCE.

Hon’ble Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice Chancellor, RTMNU Nagpur, Dr. Kawdkar In-charge AVISHKAR-2013 RTMNU Nagpur and other dignitaries are appreciated the GHRCE student for developing suck kind of machine for the rural development and reduce the tedious work of seed removal process.

WORKSHOP/SEMINAR

One day workshop for students of GHRCE under TEQIP-II

The workshop was held 17th January 2014 at, GHRCE, Nagpur for all students of third year of all disciplines. It was aimed at making students aware of what industries today expect from engineering graduates. In a very lucid and interactive manner Mr. Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune conducted a series of 4 sessions during the day which benefited nearly 700 students. In his presentation on ‘Let’s change gears’, Mr.Kamalesh Pande shared his real life experiences in key positions in different industries to sensitize them and provoke them to think with an eye on the future. He emphasized that they must adapt to the changing technological needs and prepare themselves accordingly. He also explained them the meaning of innovation, creativity, performance, value system, discipline, ethics and integrity in a very lucid manner. He then explained the importance of doing project work and also internship meaningfully emphasizing that these are highly action oriented learning areas. He pointed out that gap identification during the process of internship is a smarter way of doing internship and they must learn to develop bridges between knowing and doing.

In the post lunch session, Mr. Pande provided tips for preparing for the world of tomorrow so as to be able to fulfill expectations of the industries. He narrated the importance of soft skills in the outsideworld and advised students to take ownership, accept challenges as opportunities etc. Students were fully charged by listening to him. The highly interactive question answer session, which lasted for about an hour, students very enthusiastically asked a number of career oriented questions and got their doubts cleared. Delighted by the interest and enthusiasm of the students, Mr. Pande announced two cash prizes worth Rs.1000/- each for having asked the best questions of the day.

Initially, Dr. D. J. Tidke welcomed and introduced the guest while Dr. (Mrs.) R. N. Baxi proposed the vote of thanks.

The faculty development programme was conducted for the faculty of GHRCE on 18th January 2014 by Mr.Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune. Over 75 faculty members attended the workshop.

At the beginning of the programme the speaker Mr. Pande delivered a technical lecture on the subject ‘Thermal Insulations’. The expert lecture was in fact a demonstration to the faculties and the students as to how a subject can be lucidly presented to bring out what industries expect from class room teaching. He unveiled different teaching skills during this lecture.

During the session on ‘Recharging Raisoni Spirit’ he impressed upon the faculty members about the need of having an education trend which reflects the requirements in market forces from time to time. He emphasized on the need of adopting students-centric approach in teaching learning and development processes. He opined that multidisciplinary projects, developing centres of excellence with industry partnership would enable cultivating win-win relationships with industries and result in developing technologies or products for SME’s. He also touched upon parallels between

industry & academia, need of being competitive and developing into a learning organization and adapting innovative practices as sure ways to forge ahead. At the end, he advised faculty members to fully utilize the energy of the youngsters in right direction.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. D. J. Tidke at the end of this interesting session.

Department of Electronics Engineering at GHRCE Organized workshop on “Android OS & its applications”

Electronics Engineering Department of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized workshop on “Application development with Android OS for mobile phone” on dated 7/12/2013 under Zenith-13 and IEEE Student Branch. Android is user interface operating system which is based on direct manipulation using touch inputs that loosely correspond to real world actions to manipulate on-screen objects.

Resource person of the workshop was Mr.Chetan Dhule. He is currently working as lecturer in SRPCE Nagpur. Expert was welcomed by Dr.S.S.Dorle, HOD Electronics Engg. Department. The workshop started with the brief introduction of Android OS by Prof. D.V.Padole.

Contents of the workshop were introduction to Android OS, flow of activities to develop applications and implement into Android device. Workshop was organized for undergraduate student, in all 30 student was benefited by the workshop.

“Ethical Hacking” workshop was organized on 23rd -24th December 2013 under ETHOS. Zonal legs of workshop HACKTRICK is being conducted at various centre pan of India .Our College was one of the ZONAL centre. This event was conducted by Wegiliant Net Solution (An Alumnus of IIT Bombay) in association with IIT Bombay. The winner of the workshop was awarded by the title of ‘Ethical Hacker’ and prizes from TECHFEST 2014. Also pre placement to the winner of Techfest2014 was awarded.

Mr. HASHIM SHAIKH was the trainer of the workshop (pass out from IIT Bombay), One of the renowned Hacker of India. The event was inaugurated by DR .S. S. Salankar, Professor, ETC department. Prof. P. P. Moon & Prof. K. D. Bondre were teacher coordinators of the workshop. Student who coordinated this event were Ashish Pandey (Coordinator of workshop) and Akanksha Prasad (President of ETHOS).

application on Embedded system with VHDL” under ZENITH-13 & IEEE

Electronics Engineering Department of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized

workshop on “Real time application on Embedded system with VHDL” under Zenith-13 and IEEE Student Branch. Workshop was conducted by Prof .N.P.Wyawahare, It was organized for undergraduate students.. He has guided students with basics of embedded system and hands on interfacing with All microcontroller boards like Atmel,Arduino Uno specially based on Programming language called embedded-C with power of java as well; workshop is also explored to students by developing vhdl concept designing and implementing on FPGA spartan3 board.

This gives all interfacing ideas to their minor–major projects selection and performance. He also introduces how embedded system are changing architecture with growing technology. knowing different programming and code dumping methods from traditional to advanced way. Student got lot many exposure to actual programming need as he covered many design aspects in the workshop. Students immensely benefited by the knowledge and experience shared by the expert. Total 21 student of U.G. participated in the event.

Two weeks ISTE workshop was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur under NMEICT on ‘Signals & Systems’ at Electronics Engineering Department, GHRCE, Nagpur during 2nd -12th January 2014. G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering is one of the Remote centers for NMEICT projects. Prof. Somnath Sengupta, Professor IIT Kharagpur was the principal coordinator of the workshop. Prof. V.M.Gadre, IIT Pawai & Prof. Somnath Sengupta, Professor IIT Kharagpur delivered lectures through A-View and other participants watched live telecast of the lectures & tutorials. The total registered participants are 29, out of them 11 participants are from outside institutes like Government polytechnic, Smt. Radhikatai Pandav Polytechnic, Nagpur, J D College of Engineering & Management, Nagpur, Nagpur Polytechnic, Nagpur etc. Prof. Shubhangi Giripunje, Associate Professor, Electronics Engineering Department has a workshop coordinator.

LSI concepts, LSI Systems, LSI Systems –Causality and stability, Complex exponential and sinusoidal inputs, Fourier Transforms was conducted by Prof. V.M.Gadre and Laplace Transforms, Theory of Sampling, Applications and Research domains of Signals and Systems was conducted by Prof. Somnath Sengupta. The interactive sessions were conducted on line in which the participants were asked their queries directly to the IIT professors. The workshop was really benefited for faculty members.

workshop on Arduino hands -on for second semester of all department.

Department of Electronics Engineering, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur-16 has organized one day workshop “Arduino hands –on”for second semester of all department on dated at 11 January 2014.

The Workshop aims to enhance knowledge base of student with the latest advancements and emerge directions in the areas of advanced Microcontroller application as ARDUINO based open hardware and software platform. Through workshop, student gained to adopt flexibility to design, simulate and implement of advanced engineering application with open source ARDUINO based open hardware and software platform. Workshop was framed with ARDUINO based merged basic engineering applications to withstand with academic requirement.

The Workshop received good response from fourth semester student and received total 30 registrations. In all 30 were registered which were arranged in 3 different practical hand-on sessions. After inauguration, technical sessions were started. At end of Workshop, All participants were certified with the workshop with toolkit.

The department of Mechanical Engineering has organized the guest lecture on Power Scenario in India & Thermal Power Plant Automation On October 8, 2013 for the students of I and III semester students of M Tech CAD/CAM and HPE.

Mr. A. G. Vinchurkar, principal director, National Power Training Institute (NPTI) (Ministry of Power, Government Of India, Nagpur) with vast experience of about 30 years was invited as a resource person. He discussed the past and current scenario in India and automatic control of power plant with great example of comparison between human body and power system that how they are similar in action like heart beat -frequency, artery – distribution of electricity, brain –automatic control room etc. He also focused on the quality of electricity that depends upon the constant frequency and voltage supply and explained the purpose, causes, risk and security about the power plant.

He narrated the power installed capacity and energy generation at present and introduced the various centralize companies in power generation where there is lot scope for mechanical engineers like NTPCL, NHFC, CELL, GEL etc. he explained the electricity act that company has to follow such as control on pollution, safety. He showed the control panel of the power plant

and elaborated how it works and how the things are being controlled and supervised in power plant.

Guest lecturers organized on “Getting into Implementation of ASIC”

Electronics Engineering Department of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering has organized a guest lecture on “Getting into Implementation of ASIC” on dated 11th December 2013 by Mr. Vaibhav H.Gokhale. He is working as Application Engineer in ATOPTECH Inc., Santa Clara California. He was welcomed by Dr. A.Y.Deshmukh, Deputy Director GHRCE.

He mainly focused on the transformation of the

design into a chip that can be manufactured to meet the intended function and transformed a design to final layout using advanced EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools .He discussed the various routing tool, place and route, power aspect related for ASIC design. The main goal of the lecture was to discuss the steps involved in the flow after writing Verilog & before the chip is sent to the foundry for fabrication.. Post graduate students of VLSI and Electronics course was benefited by the lecture. Queries related to actual fabrication was nicely entertained by expert. Dr. R. Department of Informaton Technology ,G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur had organized Expert Lecture on the topic “Network Devices & Communication System” on 22nd

January 2014 for VI semester students. The resource person was Mr. Prabuddha Sanyal , Software trainer and developer – IT NetworkZ, Nagpur.

In this lecture, Mr. Prabuddha Sanyal explained the basics of networking. He explained about Cisco Packet Tracer, network simulation program that allows students to experiment with network behavior. This created awareness for the students towards their placement preparation.

The students were very much interested about the topics addressed by the resource person. They learnt about the wireless communications, Broadband access, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, Video calling,WI-FI, Edge technologies etc..

The students interacted lively with Mr. Prabuddha Sanyal. It was very interactive session which has cleared all the doubts in students mind.

Seminar on “Career Opportunities and Interview Guidance” for VI and VIII Semester UG Students was organized on 13th December 2013. The seminar was delivered by Mr. P. V. Jain and Mr. Amol Shegokar, IIT Delhi, NGO SHAR (Society for Human Development And Research). He discussed on the points such as Career Opportunities After BE/ B. Tech, JOBS v/s HIGHER EDUCATION, IAS & IES, GATE, How to Prepare For GATE, Scholarships, Rank Wise List For Admission in IIT’s, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Questions that they Can Prepare For. This activity was carried under ETHOS.

Both Ravikumar Tiwari and

Dipanshu Payasi got short-listed to represent RTMNU at state level AVISHKAR event at NMU,Jalgaon under PG category in Engineering & Technology discipline.

Parent’s Meet was organized on 7th December, 2013 by the department. The Meet was for the parents of second year students of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. The Agenda of theMeet was:i) To convey the progress of their wards to parentsii) To make the parents aware of the various departmental activities and facilities provided to students.iii) To take the feedback from the parents for overall development of the students. Around 30 parents were present for the meeting. All the subject teachers who taught the students in III semester and teaching in IV semester were present for the meeting. Prof.S.K.Tadse welcomed the parents and conveyed them the objectives of the meet. Then the parents were introduced about different departmental activities and facilities in the department through a small movie. Dr. P. B. Nagarnaik, Deputy Director & Dean Academics, Dr. A. Y. Deshmukh, Deputy Director, GHRCE, Dr. M. M. Khanapurkar, Head of the Department and Dr. S. S. Salankar, Professor in the department were prominently present on the dais.

Dr. M. M. Khanapurkar, Head of the Department addressed the parents about all departmental activities and facilities provided to students. The head of the department informed the parents about strength of students in the department, NBA accreditation process, TEQIP World Bank project, Examination system and Grievance procedure for the students etc. The head also informed the parents about Microsoft Dream Spark software, NPTEL video lectures, extended library hours and laboratory hours and insisted the parents to ask their wards for taking advantage of all these facilities.

The parents asked their queries and suggested some points for overall development of students.

The points discussed/suggested by the parents in the meeting were:i) Which is the best time span for attending the training?ii) The department should arrange Parents meet once in every semester.iv)The attendance and CAE record of the students should be conveyed through email or SMS to the parents. v) The classes should start in full fledge from very first day of the session.

Then the forum was open for interaction of parents and subject teachers. The subject teachers showed the parents the attendance and CAE, TAE records of their wards. The parents were satisfied with these records.

Engineering, Nagpur in S-04.Ten parents reported for the same. Meeting was started with presentation of. HOD –IT, Prof. S.A.Chhabria. She presented various activities conducted and achievements of our faculties.

Parents appreciated the teaching learning process and other initiatives. They addressed their grievances and suggestions. Prof. A. Y. Deshmukh, Deputy Director and Dean (Planning & Quality Assurance) and Prof. S. A. Chhabria gave guidelines on various matters related to academics for smooth conduction of classes and assured them to look after their problems and solve them as soon as possible.

Subject teachers and class teachers have coordinated and participated in meeting. Prof. S.A. Chhabria, HOD-IT and Prof. K. K. Wankhede worked hard to make this event successful.

Two students of UG Final year - Department of Electronics Engineering - Suryateja Yellamraju and Suraj Girolkar presented a paper titled, “Design of Logic Gates with Neural Implementation” at IEEE India Council’s INDICON 2013 held during 13-15th December 2013 at IIT Bombay.

Students of Electronic Engineering Departments Excels in Aeromodelling in

IIT Techfest Mumbai

Lav Kumar Pande and Shailesh Lede of Final year of the Electronics Engineering Department of G.H.Raisoni college of Engineering secured “2nd” position in Aeromodelling competition held at prestigious IIT- Bombay during TechFest-14 under the banner of Aviator Design and Flying.

Students from various IIT’s, NIT’s and other reputed colleges participate every year. This year around 90 teams participated there, the task this time is to built a flying model from scratch and make it fly and perform several aerobatics. Participants were asked to built a plan having load nor more than 500grams and a wingspan nor more than 90cms, carry a maximum load on their model and perform a safe takeoff and landing by forming a horizontal eight loop across two polls. Top 15 teams on the basis of points scored are sent to Flying Challenge. Flying challenge consist of performing several maneuvers like loop , hammer head, full Cuban eight, invert flying. On the basis of points score maximum winners are decided. Students received certificates and cash of Rs.6000/-

Bhagyashree Deshpande from third year represented the Electronics department of G.H.Raisoni college of Engineering in VIBRANT GUJARAT- NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUMMIT held on 10th and 11th of January 2014. The summit was held in MAHATMA MANDIR, Gandhinagar. Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated this grand event. The speakers for this summit were highly qualified esteemed scholars from in and outside India. Mr. Welurkal,vice chancellor of Mumbai University, prof.Latha Ramchand, university of Houston, Mr.Charles Zukoski,University of buffalo, Mr.Sudhir Jain , Director, IIT Gandhinagar were few of them.

After the inauguration there were serious Panel discussions held parallel in various seminar Halls of Mahatma Mandir each session followed by an interactive question answer rounds. Discussions were held regarding the past, present and future of Education system of India, the involvement of youth in development of this country, policies to generate inquisitiveness among the students and helping them innovate. It was a platform on which many problems faced by different streams of education were put forward and discussed and found a solution to. Various policies in education have been promised to be reformed and new policies were declared. Thus, this summit was proven to be a boon for the Educational system of India.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Students of B.E. Fourth semester (Electronics) Section A visited at Sonali Power Equipment Pvt., manufacturing

plant at Hingna MIDC, Nagpur.

Graduate Students of B.E. Fourth semester (section A & B) electronics had visited to Sonali Power Equipment Pvt., manufacturing plant at Nagpur on date 21st December 2013. The main aim is to provide students a glimpse of the actual work situation and to understand the industry environment, to study the production of Higher rating Transformer product manufactured, to get a first hand information about the operative system , machines and procedure adopted by Transformer industries in practice and to gain some work experience.

They have provided necessary information to student about the procedure of manufacturing steel bar with quality standard and the visit has successfully done. Visit is organized by Department of Electronics Engineering, GHRCE, Nagpur. Prof. S.V.Bhalerao, Prof. M.M.Pathan, Pallavi Sarde and Shraddha Moon accompany to the students in the visit.

On October 2, 2013, G.H. Raisoni college of engineering organized the Industrial visit in Palkar Industries, Hingna MIDC, Nagpur for the students of I semester M Tech CAD/CAM

Mr. Naresh, supervisor, Palkar industry introduced the complete plant and the function of each department. There are two plants in the industry which consist of CNC machines and other plant is equipped with mostly manually operated machines. The industry produces 20 part of ginning machine. At the start Mr. Naresh introduced the VMC machine which produces the part without manual interruption. It produces the molding parts according to the CAD design provided to the machine. He also showed the manufacturing of clutch used in ginning machine which is done on the CNC machine. He elaborated the detail working of CNC machine, CNC programming and stepwise programming implementation and graphical representation of manufacturing part.Students also seen the manufacturing of taper pin, ratchet bolt.

In second plant they were having turning machine, cutting machine, threading machine and milling machine. Students saw the working threading machine with two cutting rollers how single part is manufactured by multi-cutting tools simultaneously. The customers of Palkar

Industries are Ordanance Factory, Johnson, DIPI Agro etc.

Fourth semester B.E. (Computer Science and Engineering ) students went for industrial visit on 25 January 2014. They have attended session of the Turing Techtalk series for this year. A Technical talk, centered around the Life and work of 2000 Turing Award Recipient Andrew Chi-Chih Yao.The event was web telecasted at Persistent campus.
