The AASTC: Tweetering on the Edge by B b Marketing pe ple, as we all kn w, are an unstable idi syncratic l t wh

ccasi nally have a g d ideaeven if the idea d esnt seem s t the pe ple whw uld have t implement it. The idea was t c mmunicate the camp experiencet utsiders, i.e. parents, using the t ls f s cial netw rking: Twitter, Bl gging,Faceb k, Y uTube and Flickr. Pitched at camp as spy n y ur kids, parentsreceived a yer at check-in telling them where they could tune into the variouss cial media we were creating.

All f us were regulars n Faceb k but pri rt this time, nly Kisha had a Twitter acc unt.

Adding Twitter t ur arsenal was a little in-timidating at rst: trying to come up with clever(and acceptable) things t say that might appealt ur intended audience and kn wing that whatwe tweeted w uld als sh w up n the campsvery public h me page (thanks, David).

During ur staff rientati n I switched my little Nik n C lpix fr m picture tm vie m de and became the s cial media vide grapher f r the rest f the summer.Matt continued to snap stills and lled up Flickr albums all summer long. Kishaused her Twitter expertise t celebrate camp happenings and retweet Matts andmy p sts f new ph t s and vide s. She was als the nly ne wh c uld instantly

upl ad pictures directly fr m her mnipresent BlackBerry t Twitpics. We really didnt kn w if any ne w uld l k r even care but it didnt take l ng

to nd out. Some of my awful rst-effort videos were getting hundreds of views on Y uTube. Similar resp nses were being rec rded f r Matts and Kishas pictures. But what was m st amazing was that pe ple were talking back t us. Pe ple wh
