IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES TO INCREASE TEACHING STAFF PROFESSIONALISM: A CASE

INDONESIAN LAW NO 14 YEAR 2005 ON TEACHER AND LECTURER: TEACHERS
ARE PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS WITH THE PRIMARY TASK OF EDUCATING,
TEACHING, GUIDING, DIRECTING, TRAINING, ASSESSING, AND EVALUATING
STUDENTS AT PRE-PRIMARY, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY LEVELS
PESANTREN AS THE OLDEST EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN INDONESIA, WITH ENTRENCHED SYSTEM AND PATTERN, NOW HAS START TO REVITALIZE ITSELF, USING MODERN SCIENTIFIC METHODOLOGY, HAVING FUNCTIONAL ORIENTATION, AS WELL AS OPEN TO DEVELOPMENT OUTSIDE ITSELF
PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH, LOCATED AT PAYA BUNDUNG MEDAN, IS ONE OF THE FORMAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN NORTH SUMATRA. THUS, IT HAS THE SAME DUTIES AS OTHER FORMAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: TO DEVELOP QUALITY EDUCATION
ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED:1. HOW DOES PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH

FINDINGS: 1. PESANTREN IS AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION WHICH EMPHASIZES ISLAMIC VALUES.
2. PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH IMPLEMENTS DUAL CURRICULUM: THE RELIGIOUS MINISTRY CURRICULUM AND THE PESANTREN GONTOR CURRICULUM
3. PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH IS OPEN TO EXTERNAL DEVELOPMENT, ESPECIALLY WITH REGARD TO GOVERNMENT POLICIES ON TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM
4. PROFESSIONAL TEACHER IS A TEACHER WHO HAS PEDAGOGIC COMPETENCE, PERSONALITY COMPETENCE, SOCIAL COMPETENCE, AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE
5. TO INCREASE TEACHING PROFESSIONALISM, PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH HAS BEEN: A) SENDING TEACHERS TO PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS ACTIVITIES/EVENTS, SUCH AS NATIONAL/ INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR, WORKSHOP, SYMPOSIUM, AND OTHER RELATED TASKS AS TEACHERS AND EDUCATORS.
B) BRINGING IN EXPERT ON LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SCALE
C) COOPERATING WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS IN ACTIVITIES RELATED TO TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM IMPROVEMENT
D) CREATING TEACHER WORKING GROUPS
CONCLUSION
PESANTREN AR-RAUDHATUL HASANAH IS IMPLEMENTING GOVERNMENT POLICY TO INCREASE TEACHING STAFF PROFESSIONALISM THROUGH VARIOUS MECHANISMS
